Chapter 410 Once everything was ready, Mariela’s Crestwood Law Firm officially opened for business.

That day, Mariela got a long–overdue phone call.

“Marie, do you remember me? It’s Hailie.”

Mariela was pleasantly surprised. She had not been in touch with Hailie for a while.

“Of course! I still have your number saved.”

Hailie had been an intern lawyer at the firm where Mariela worked in Los Angeles. Hailie was also her assistant. When Mariela left, she told Hailie that if Hailie ever needed anything, she could come to her.

Hailie said, “Marie, my internship is over, and I passed the interview with the Bar Association. I wanted to ask if what you said before about coming to you still stands?”

“Congratulations!” Mariela smiled sincerely, “Of course, it does. My firm just opened, so you’re welcome to come anytime.”

“Really?” Hailie was thrilled.“Then I will take you up on that offer. As long as you don’t mind having me around!”

Mariela chuckled, “Why would I mind? I practically trained you myself. I’m in New York now. And I will send you the address in a bit.” Hailie was excited. Got it! I’ll book my ticket right away!”

When Mariela’s cousin, Wesley, heard she had opened a law firm, he immediately helped recruit two outstanding and well–

known lawyers to join her.

In a private room at a restaurant, Wesley introduced them to Mariela.

“This is Isabel Leblanc, my high school classmate,” said Wesley.

Isabel had the sharp, professional look of an elite lawyer. Her short hair was neatly styled and she wore a light coffee–colored business suit, giving off a highly capable vibe.

Mariela’s gaze landed on her face for a moment.“Nice to meet you, Ms. Leblanc.”

Isabel smiled, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Logan. We are colleagues now.”

“And this is Roger Mendez. I personally poached him from another firm. He’s an expert in commercial law.”

Roger looked to be around forty, dressed in a sharp suit with glasses. He was on the slimmer side, giving off a calm and composed demeanor.

“Mr. Mendez. I have heard great things about you. I look forward to working together.”

“Nice to meet you, Ms. Logan. Glad to work with you.”

Aside from Wesley, everyone at the table was in the legal field, so the conversation flowed easily, making for a lively atmosphere.

After dinner, Mariela said goodbye to Wesley and her new colleagues before getting into her Rolls–Royce.

She pressed the accelerator, and the white Rolls–Royce slowly pulled out of the parking lot and onto the wide road.
