When I woke up, it was already sunny which meant I had slept through the morning. I groaned out as I stood up from the bed, stretching my body to destress.
I left the room and went downstairs, looking for the guys. When I found no one there, I sat on a sofa in the living room, switching on the TV.
When did you wake up?â Stanley asked, smiling as soon as he entered inside and I averted my gaze from the movie to stare at him.
Not quite long. I realized I was the one, so I decided to watch a movie. Thank goodness you are back, the movie was boring, âI admitted and he chuckled.
We saw you were sleeping and decided to go check out some places that need renovation in the pack. But, weâre done with that and I decided to come check up on you while the others went to finish up their work,â he explained, even though I didnât need an explanation from him.

Staying indoors isnât good for the baby, you should go out and exercise your legs,â he suggested and 1 instinctively looked down at her legs.
â
Where should I go? I know no place in this pack and I donât put my life in danger anymore as I did the first time.
I have to be careful, as you can see, itâs not only one person sharing this life and body anymore, weâre three now âI joked, making him chuckle at what I said.
âIâm very much aware of that. We should go shopping, at least, Iâll be with you,â he suggested and she shook. her head.
âI donât want to be a bother to you, Stanley. I appreciate your efforts of wanting to help me, but I donât want to pressure you too much. You should go ahead and do your work, you have no responsibility over me,â she informed and he frowned at her.
âI never said I had any responsibility over you, nor have I ever complained that you are bothering me. The three of us agreed that I should take you out to buy some clothes as you have none,â he confessed.
â
Still yet, Stanley, I feel like youâre doing all of this for me because you pity me, â

Chapter 18
âWell, of course, I pity you. But Iâm not doing this because of that. This situation benefits me as well. You are going to get new clothes for yourself and I was able to get Johnâs card which I have always wanted. Itâs a winâwin for the both of us,â he explained to her and I furrowed my brows in confusion, wondering what he was talking about.
Why would you want Johnâs card? Donât you have yours?â I asked and he put his hands in his pocket, bringing out the card.
Itâs a black card and I have been told to spend as much as we want to. Why shouldnât I be pleased to help you? âHe questioned, smiling at me and I sneered at him, knowing that he had won and there was no need for me to argue further. I switched off the TV and stood up from the couch, stretching my body again in preparation to
go
out.
We went out of the house and he led me to where his car was, opening the door for me. I slapped the chair and knocked on the window of the car, smiling in satisfaction.
âI love your car, it screams luxury. I want it as a congratulatory gift when I give birth, âI demanded as soon as he got into the car and he snapped his head at me.
âWhat makes you think Iâm going to give you a congratulatory gift when you give birth? Besides, you shouldnât be asking for a gift, I am to give you what I like, and it definitely shouldnât be my car,â he pointed out and I frowned.
Why canât I ask for a gift? Am I not the one who is to receive it? I think I have every right to ask for what I need without being criticized, âI argued, but he shook his head, starting the car,
â
No, you shouldnât ask for anything. I am the one giving you the gift and I am to give you whatever I know you. will need and I can afford. I canât give you something I canât afford,â he insisted and I gave up, not willing to argue with him.
âWhatever you want, Stanley, I canât really win you in an argument. As long as you donât give me diapers and baby clothes, then Iâm fine with it, âI told him and he glanced at me..
H
Why donât you want those things? What is wrong with them? Besides, they are within budget, â.
Why would you give me diapers as a congratulatory gift? Itâs different if you say you bought them for the bables, but not for me. If you want to give me a gift, let it be something that would be beneficial to me and not to the baby, âI insisted and patted the seat of the car, smiling softly.

âPreferably this car. I would really appreciate it if I am given this car as a gift, âI told him, but he only laughed it
off.

Jane, forget about this car. I bought it because I fell in love with it and I am not willing to give it out, not even if someone wants to buy it,â he informed and I huffed out in annoyance, resting my back on the chair and folding my a
arms.
Youâre really mean,â she stated and he erupted into laughter, shaking his head as he drove into the parking lot of the shopping mall.
Jane, I havenât shown you my mean side yet,â he said in between laughter, turning off the car.
I think I have seen it all Anyway, the shopping mall isnât far from the house, âI pointed out, looked around and he nodded in affirmation.
âLetâs get down,â he said and he got out of the car. As soon as I got out of the car, a lot of people began staring at me and whispering, making me panic in fear as flashes of memory appeared in my head.
