Elle's pov:
"Take this", I said handling the lemon juice to Steven.
"Um..My head hurts!",
"Yes because you were drunk and I left you at the sofa only"
"Oh..is that so", he said as he took the glass from my hand and drunk it.
"Listen, I'm leaving early today because Kate has something important to say me plus we've some urgent work"
"Okay..Bye", he said as he collided with the sofa and lift the sheet on him.
Is he sleeping again? Whatever. I put the breakfast on the table and left.
I saw Kate standing beside my table with a scowl in her face. I went towards her and asked, "you okay? Why you're standing here like this?"
She just folded her hands against her chest and frowned her brow, looking away.
"Um..is it because yesterday I told you to do my work?.. I'll do your work today, you can take your leave"
"That's not the matter"
".. then what?"
"Meet me at the Pizza hut later", she said as i agreed to her. What's the thing that she's angry this much?
I went to the Pizza Hut with Kate. We went inside. She was still frowning her brows and didn't looked at me.
"See there", she said. My eyes looked around the place and I found Lee, sitting with a bad mood.
"Lee..what is he doing here?" I say.
He noticed me as soon as he saw me. He approached me, putting his hands on his pocket.
"You guys.. What's happening?", I said being confused.
"Tell him to apologise", Kate demanded.
"I haven't done anything. Tell her to say sorry", Lee said.
"Argh! Actually what happened?", I yelled.
"Actually..", Kate said and continued.
Flashback:
Author pov:
Kate was sitting at the table of the Pizza Hut, thinking about what is Elle doing. In the meantime, she saw handsome boy sat beside the table of hers.
She get overwhelmed by his handsome face. But when she heard him speaking, "Yes. Lee speaking. Yes, the CEO of.."
'ahh, so this is the bastard who hurted my bestfriend, let's teach him some damn lesson' She thought as she tightened her fist, ready to punch him. But she calm herself and got up. She moved towards him, clenching her jaw.
"Do you need something", Lee said hanging up the call.
"Oh? Do I? Yes I do need something", She said as she slumped her fist on his table.
"You're the fucking Lee who hurted my bestfriend, right?", She said making him confused.
"What..you mean? Whom I've cheated?"
"Ohh, don't pretend now. My bestfriend, Elle!"
"Mm..Elle..I liked her-"
"Shut the fuck up you jerk!"
He stand up and frowned his brows and scoffed.
"What do you think of yourself?", He said.
"Same question to you. You hurted my Bestfriend so bad but thanks to you that Steven and Elle is doing fine now"
"Oh congratulations to them. Then why you're annoying me like this?"
She tightened her grip and punched him on his face. He hissed in pain and also punched her back.
"What the..How dare you?", Kate said and he chuckled.
"You also punched me so-"
And she started fake crying. "I'll complain about you to Elle"
"Huh, do you think I care?"
She curled her lips and left from there.
Back to the present:
Elle's pov:
"Hm..So that's what happened", I said
"Yes. So tell him to say sorry!", says Kate.
"But if I think carefully.. You've fault too so has Lee. So you both have to apologize to each other"
She glared at me and said, "Whose side you're taking? His or mine?"
"No one's. I'm judging properly. So Lee and Kate, say sorry"
I gestured Lee with my eyes to tell her sorry.
"Okay..I'll go first. Sorry", Lee apologized.
"Still not enough-", I pushed slightly Kate with my elbow.
"What you're doing? Say sorry to him too. You little bit-"
"Okay okay!! I'm fucking sorry but actually I'm not sorry because you deserved it"
"What?-"
"Listen guys..Be friends", I said as i hold their hands and forced them to shake their hands with eachother.
They both were shooting daggers at them.
"Huh.. I've to pick a call", Kate excused herself.
And the awkward silence between me and Lee, makes me uncomfortable standing in front of him. He broke the silence first.
"So..How you're doing?"
"I'm..doing great and you?"
"Me too. Elle..I know I did a mistake but can we say the words and forget this?"
"Mm..what?"
"Sorry. Let's sort out. Let's just stay friends!"
I smiled at him and hugged him. "Sure. And I literally don't hold grudges too much you know? And please don't mind Kate.. She's a bit rude but if you get along with her, she will be the nicest person you'll ever meet"
"Ahh..Is that so? Let's go out somewhere for dinner. You, Kate and me. We can solve our fight too. Right?", He laughed.
Ouh.. I'm full. I just came home now. Why the house is dark?
"Steven?", I whispered. "Steven?", I called out loudly but no reply. Is he not in home? Huh. Or he's slept? Or he's out somewhere?
I suddenly felt a hand covering my mouth tightly as I tried to free myself. I turned around and the lights turned on. I saw no one but Steven, smilling sheepishly.
"Youuuu! I was scared!", I shouted. He smiled at the ground and left to the kitchen. Few seconds later, he came with a cake full with candles.
"Happy Birthday", he said, holding the cake. Oh my..Is it my birthday?
"How..Is it 18th February today?"
"Yes love. It's straight 12:00 and it's your damn birthday. Blow the candles!"
My eyes filled with tears. I wiped it and blowed them. "Thank you, Steven", I whispered. I cut the cake and he took a small bite of it. He kissed my forehead.
"Thank you for existing", he said.
We were drinking wine, enjoying ourself at the rooftop. It was cold obviously.
"Thanks Steven for this wonderful gift"
"That's still not enough. What do you want?"
I hold him tightly and asked, "If I say I want you to stay by my side forever, will you..",
He pressed his index finger on my lips, shuting me. "You don't have to ask for it babe because I'll always stay by your side, for infinity years"
I pecked his lips. "I..I love..I love this view. I mean this stars above us. This night. I love everything about what's going"
He smiled softly as we keep staring at the stars holding each other.
