Next day, at office.
I entered the office with a cheerful mood and I shouted out loud to everyone, "Hey, how are you guys?".
Everyone was so shocked by seeing my happy mood because I think the first time they saw me smiling.
Kate comes to me and asked,
"Are you in a good mood? Everything's okay now?".
I said, "Not really, I'll tell you in the lunch time".
At the lunch time,
Kate and I were walking and I told her that we are going to do that plan. She nodded but somehow she's not comfortable with this plan.
"Maybe I give you this plan but I didn't tell you to be the bad guy Elle. Why you're doing this?", She said being worried about me. Well me? Yes, maybe being a bad guy will be hard for me but I have to do this for my friend, Steven.
I was doing my work when a lady came and handed a bag to me. I looked at her in a confused way.
"Steven sir have told me to handle you this, this a dress. He told me to say you to wear this at evening in his birthday, so I'll be going then", she said smiling and left. What? Dress? My co workers are looking at me, being intersted to know how is the dress and how I'll look like on it.
"You guys do your work", I shouted nervously and they all started to mind their own business. I chuckled and put that bag beside.
I've to go early from office today so I went to my Boss.
I opened the door of his chember.
"Can I come in sir?", I asked. He nods.
"What brings you here?", He said looking at the flies he's holding.
"I'm asking for your permission so that I can leave early today", I said politely. He put down those files and leans over his seat. "Elle, you nowadays leaves from work early, and you also comes to office late. That's not how it's gonna work. We have some rules", he said turning his head to left and right. I looked down and said Sorry.
"It's okay, go but what's the reason", he asked. Reason? How I can I tell him that it's his birthday so I have to go. I keep shilly-shallying when he said,
"There must be some stupid reason, huh! I know it's your boyfriend's birthday".
"How'd you know that?", I said shockingly.
"Who doesn't knows about him in this office now? He's your officially boyfriend now, everybody knows so as I", he said. "Sorry sir, this won't be repeated again but please let me go for-", I was saying but he stops me.
"No it's okay, go", he said again focusing on the files. I opened the door and i was about to go but he stops me again. "Yes sir", I said.
"Date him, but remember that you won't be happy. This profession I mean acting it's really bad. He can hook up with anybody anytime, he'll not even think about you", he says trying me to stop going on his birthday. But no, I have to for the plan.
"I-",
"Are you happy with him?"
"Yes, sir can I go? I'm in a hurry".
"Oh yes go! Sorry for what I just said", he said and sat on his chair.
I left the office and saw Steven standing with his car. He must be here to pick me. We both waved our hands at each other. I headed towards him.
He looked at my hand which is holding his gift, and chuckled.
"Happy Birthday!", I said him.
"Thank you miss", he whispered. And then I noticed an unfamiliar girl sitting on his car.
"That girl? Is she Anna?", I asked pointing at her. She's not even looking at him or me, she seemed frustrated.
He nodded and said her to come outside. She faced me and looked at me with a suspicious glare. She must be thinking how I get her boy.
"I know you're Elle but I want to listen from you", she said.
"Oh hey Anna! I'm Elle", I said smiling and thrust my hand.
"Don't you have a full name?", She said and curled her lips.
"Sorry, I'm Elle Finley", I said and we both shook our hands.
"She will help us to get together", Steven said to her.
"I don't think so", she said and looked askance at me.
"Do you have a doubt?", I said and she looked away.
"But where I'll change my dress baby?", She said to him with a baby tone. Eww, I hate these girls who talk in baby tone when they are infront of boys. I also nodded, I have to change also.
"Well, let's go to my house, and then we'll both discuss the plan and will get ready", he said and we three went to his house. The all way that Anna was blabbering this and that. She always adds "baby" in the last sentence when she talks with Steven and I noticed this shit.
We both entered at his house.
"Hey Elle, come sweetie", she said and approached me. But then she noticed Anna and gave her side-eye.
"What's she doing here Stev?", She said to Steven with an irritation.
"Well Auntie, she's our friend, so..", I hesitated.
"It's okay if she's our guest, Elle", she said and brushes my hair gently.
"Okay so auntie, we're going upstairs", I said and we three went to his room.
I shared them the plan.
"Okay so that's it", I said brightly.
"Hmm, but who can guarantee it that you'll be the bad guy there? I really don't trust you", she said having doubts in me.
"Hey? Anna? Only for us she's doing that, and you're disbelieving her?", He said supporting me.
"So that's good elle", he said and we both smiled at each other.
"Why you guys are smiling at each other like this?", She said irritated.
"Oh..I shouldn't right? Okay then let's go", I said being serious. "Guys you wait outside, I'm coming after changing my clothes", he said and we both came out of his room.
She asked me if I have touched his boy or not and I said, "no worries Anna, I will never ever touch your man". There was a silence but she noticed the bag which I was carrying.
"What's that? Your dress? I nodded.
"But I didn't saw you to go to a shop. Where you take it from?
"Oh actually Steven give me this.."
Ahh, damn I shouldn't say that shit!
"Steven? He gave that to you? But I'm his girlfriend", she said and forcefully took the bad from me and handed her dress. It's so disgusting! It's good that his parents rejected his girlfriend. She's really so childish and rude.
Steven came out of his room and showed us his look. To be honest, he's looking so handsome that I can't take my eyes off him.
"But baby, your hairstyle isn't so good", she said and started to make his hair by her hands. She just ruined his look. "But babe, it's not nice", he said looking at his phone's camera.
"No, if I like the hairstyle then you also have to like it", she said. He nodded. "Okay so Elle go and change", he said to me but his girlfriend said a big NO to it.
"I'll go first, I'm his girlfriend", she said rudely and went to change. She's so immature. "I'm sorry, she's a bit rude but she's good from mind", he said.
"It's okay, but Steven, this hairstyle is not looking good on you", I said.
He moves his head closer to me and said, "then miss, you do my hair against". Me? Yes!!! I did his hair by my hands and it's looking good.
He looked at the camera and said, "yeah, it's nice. Thank youuuuu Elle". I smiled at him when his girlfriend came out showing her dress specially.
