It was pretty good.
Director Li felt that he had such discerning eyes to actually pick two lead actors with âCP feelingâ, he really was worthy of his work! He had long forgotten the picky him who refused to have Ye Chen in the crew with all his might...
âAlright!â Director Li raised his voice and said, âVery good, thatâs the feeling. You must keep it up.â
Director Li stepped forward, praising Ye Chen energetically, âWonderful! Itâs flawless! If someone said that your acting wasnât good when the movie was screened, I would hang them outside the window of my house!â
Ye Chen, â...â All of a sudden, he really didnât know whom he should feel more sorry for; the deceived Director Li or others who had known the truth...
Director Li was still a bit dissatisfied with Ren Jing. He said, âWe should retake the final scene again. You had to express the throbbing (heart), but not too obvious. After all, your role is quite passive and restrained in the whole movie.â
Ren Jing nodded, then began to talk, âIâll change my clothes first.â Because he rescued someone, his body was also wet. Thus, this reason was understandable.
DIrector Li waved his hands. âGo ahead.â
Before leaving, Ren Jing also said softly, âYou should put on your clothes, youâre getting sunburned.â He told that to Ye Chen.
Ye Chen was basked in too much sunshine that his whole body had turned slightly red, so his bashful blush wasnât exposed.
Director Li now felt distressed for Big Darling. He promptly said, âYou should go too. There would be a few more scenes after this, so you should hurriedly do immediate recovery. Especially your face!â
What he meant was that the shot they would do next would have their faces focused on a lot, so the complexion was very important. Yet, Ye Chen felt really diffident because he thought that he blushed too much that Director Li had to specifically tell him that!
He left at lightning speed, then went to the lounge to have a bath. When he came out, he got pinned to the wall by someone before he had the chance to wipe himself dry.
Ye Chenâs eyes widened. He felt somewhat sweet yet very embarrassed. Then he called his name out in a whisper, âRen Jing...â
Ren Jing couldnât endure it any longer. He didnât say a word, but he simply kissed his partner everywhere, especially where it was wet. It could be said that he was satisfying his own fantasy.
Who could endure being kissed like this? Ye Chen groaned, then said as he panted, âI...want to...â
Ren Jing took a look at the âlittle thingâ which was perking up. Without thinking much, he sucked it.
Ye Chen could only feel his scalp tingling uncontrollably in response. It felt so pleasurable that his toes trembled.
Director Li said, âHow about more rest?â He asked Ye Chen.
It took Ye Chen a long time before he thought over Director Liâs words. He assumed that it was because he and Ren Jing had stayed in the lobby for a long time that Yang Sen used âapplying a maskâ as an excuse.
All in all, Ye Chenâs face was sunburned, it wouldnât look well on the camera. Applying face mask to recover the skin color could be a first aid treatment.
Ye Chen was thoroughly convinced, convinced of Yang Senâs coping capacity...
Once he figured things out, Ye Chen replied, âI should be alright after a little break. My face wonât be that red anymore once I drink some iced water.â
Director Li said, âGood idea.â
They could just proceed with othersâ scenes first. This way, the progress wouldnât be delayed.
Ye Chen gulped down a drink and felt calmer a few moments later. His complexion had returned to normal, a soft and delicate look without the need of any makeup.
Ren Jing took a few glances and indeed felt a little regret...
The next few scenes were quite ordinary. Most of them were parts of the twoâs early stage of getting to know each other, so there were a lot of dialogues. But as long as Ye Chen was together with Ren Jing, nothing felt too difficult.
Both of them acted pretty well that Director Li was blissfully happy. He felt as if he would be able to finish shooting this movie in a day.
There wasnât any trouble for the next few days. Ren Jing had endured many hardships, thus he could face âordinaryâ scenes normally. He wouldnât get âheated upâ just because he was enticed.
Ye Chen kept relying on his instinct all the way. He simply needed to hide his love for Ren Jing with all his might and the result was exactly what Director Li wanted. It was quite easy for him.
After several successful scenes, Ye Chen eventually encountered the biggest problem.
Although this was a pure romance movie, there were some supporting roles, too. For instance, Ye Chen had some sworn brothers in the movie, so there were a lot of co-stars.
According to the schedule, todayâs focus would be Ye Chen. They would mainly shoot some scenes of him with his best friend.
Director Li didnât take it seriously at all. That was because this scene would be very easy to take with his A Chenâs âhard powerâ. Hence, he felt so calm that it wasnât worth mentioning!
After all, his A Chen was a promising young actor in the moviedom who had acted together with a Movie King âprofessionallyâ. He could even beat the movie king!
It was obviously just a few insignificant scenes, yet trouble arose time and again.
One of the scenes was this: Zhan Chenâs former high school classmate attended the same college, and they were quite familiar with each other. In fact, she liked Zhan Chen a little bit. When his sworn brother had noticed it, he teased Zhan Chen. Thus, Zhan Chen exchanged a few sarcastic remarks with him. In a lucky coincidence, Yan Han came out from the corner and the three met. Zhan Chen suddenly tensed up and made a random excuse.
Letâs not mention the latter part for now. They couldnât even finish shooting the front part where Zhan Chen was exchanging sarcastic remarks with his sworn brother.
The person who played the role as the sworn brother was a teen idol. His acting skill was quite impressive. It wasnât too conspicuous when not compared with anyone, but once there was a comparison... Oh dear, the teen idolâs skill was superb, he could possibly be a candidate for the next Movie King!
Indeed, with our âtrueâ Brother Chen serving as a foil, everyone could become a Movie King! Yeah, except Ren Jing.
Director Li didnât believe that his Ye Chen who had performed really well these days was showing his true color. He simply thought that Ye Chen was temporarily not in a good state. He might have something weighing on his mind.
Hence, he called Ye Chen over and enlightened him here and there like a psychologist.
In a sense, Director Li was a kind director. It was rare to meet one with such patience like him.
Ye Chen felt ashamed of himself. He nodded repeatedly and said, âIâll perform properly!â
Director Li patted his shoulder. âGo for it!â
Ye Chen would really like to âgo for itâ, but he only had one millilitre of oil can. No matter how much he wanted to add, nothing much could be added!
He went back to the (shooting) site anxiously. His eyes fell on Ren Jing who was sitting there and immediately felt much more at ease. However, when he caught sight of the strange âbest friendâ on the other side, he began to feel weird again.
In fact, Ye Chen could be considered to have overexerted himself under this circumstance. Acting had to be ânaturalâ. The more wary one was, the stiffer one became. What one needed in acting was to bring out the emotions within. A natural expression was the best.
But if one was deliberately memorizing the lines, deliberately showing familiarity, deliberately mocking each other...
It would turn into a complete awkwardness.
Even the blind Director Li couldnât bear to look straight at his acting. It was only Ren Jing with his thick filter which could pierce through the universe who had his mind stuffed with: Chen Chen is adorable, Chen Chen is so truly adorable.
Therefore, acting skills didnât really matter. What mattered was a fanâs filter (as if)!
Gu Xi was only stopping by to check on Mr. -100 and also to see if the sparks of the twoâs affection had burnt down the site.
In the end, the blinding fireworks of awkwardness were flashing through his eyes instead of sparks of affection.
Brother Chen is formidable, I surrender. Where did Li Fu find such courage to hire him with that acting skill of his? Is it from Liang Jingru!?
The director shouted âcutâ. Ye Chen ran over in dismay, looking dull with helplessness and pitifulness.
Ren Jing poured tea and brought it over for him, kept praising Ye Chen as he thought uneasily: Would it be better to change the script by cutting out the insignificant plot?
The scriptwriter might cry until he passed out in the restroom later.
Gu Xi greeted Li Fu first. The moment Ye Chen saw him, he looked even more pitiful right away.
Gu Xi felt resentful towards Ye Chen for failing to meet expectations. Gu Xi was impatient to see improvement, so he gave Ye Chen a piece of his mind with a tone which was worse than Director Liâs. Certainly, his scoldings were reasonable, with every single sentence he gave Ye Chen a clear picture of his -100 acting skills.
Ye Chen had really tried his best to understand, but as soon as he saw the âunknownâ sworn brother, he became uneasy all over.
All in all...he wasnât acquainted with that teen idol at all!
After he got stuck in the same part again, Gu Xi said, âLet me handle this!â
âWhat?â Director Li defended his director chair to death, thinking that this guy was about to snatch his job.
Gu Xi rolled his eyes. Then he told the teen idol, âAre you tired? You should take a rest for now. Iâll practice with A Chen for a bit and help him understand the feeling.â
The teen idol nearly got tired to the point of dropping. If it were not for Ye Chenâs good attitude, he would have thought that Ye Chen was deliberately giving him a hard time.
The author has something to say:
This is really a truly memorable work~
T/N: Hi! This bonus chapter is brought to you by Elaine-san and Anon-san from Ko-fi! Itâs (supposed to be) the bonus chapter for August. I planned to release it last week, but I kinda erred on a thing or two, so itâs delayed until today, Iâm so sorry. Anyway, I didnât plan to open the goal for September because uni has started again and I donât have enough stock, pardon me. Health has been hindering so many aspects of my life too, so Iâm behind everything at this point. I promise Iâll still update regularly, but updates might be later than usual. Really sorry about this. I know this is selfish to ask, but please bear with me for now. Thank you.
Anyhow, things will start to get serious from this point. Many revelations to your questions and doubts will be unveiled from chapter 80 onward, please look forward to them! Like, why did the system exist? Where did the missions come from? What actually happened when Ye Chen had an accident in the first chapter that he could get revived? among many other questions. And oh, if you need your daily dose of angst and dog blood, then the side stories might be for you! There are multiple 6K and 8K word count chapters even pfttt. There are 13 chapters of side stories in total, starring Ye Chenâs childhood friends and their beloved. It would go in-depth about their lives. Ye Chen himself will appear from time to time as their relationship consultant LOL. I personally liked them a lot too because Iâm a sucker for side charas hhhhhhhh. With that said, please look forward to the end of the story! P.S. Iâll re-translate the earlier chapters after Iâm finished with everything, too! (â§Ïâ§) Take care of yourself, drink enough water, rest if you donât feel well. See you later~
Hm
Disclaimer: Iâm not talking about anyone in particular, just a precaution! Sorry if I sounded rude, I just really need to address this.
Itâs still a bit early to write this, but oh well. While this story is not perfect and my translations sucks too yeah, Iâd be happy if you would see the end of the novel together with me. Itâs just a pretty light-hearted and simple story to read in my honest opinion and not to be taken too seriously. I know I canât stop other peopleâs opinions, but please! Constructive feedback is alright, but please donât just blurt out everything you donât like in the novel and even told others they mustnât read it just because you donât like it. Keep in mind that every stories has its pros and cons. Please be mindful while writing reviews; youâll never know what others might feel or think because of your review. If you have nothing good to say, then just donât say anything. Please. Youâre not âspecialâ just because you write bad bad reviews or pointing out the flaws recklessly without even trying to see some of its good points (âi aM nOt lIkE eVeRyOnE eLsE wHo oNlY wRiTe gOoD rEvIeWs oF tHe nOvElâ or whatever that bullshit excuse is). If you donât enjoy it, then donât read. Itâs as simple as that, yet people canât seem to understand and keep throwing insults here and there... Sigh.
Sorry you had to read all of this. Iâm kinda unstable lately, and my physical and mental health didnât make me feel any better. I canât promise anything, but Iâll try my best...maybe. Thatâs all for now.
