When i walked inside Eliyas's office, There was a group of men walking out of there at the same time, they were of different ages and shapes, however, they all had 2 things in common:
1_ they were wearing suits.
2_they all looked at me very displeased.
It seemed like i interrupted an important meeting and made them all curse me in their thoughts for wasting their time ad effort.
At the moment i thought: why did this man interrupt another meeting for me?
In the past, Didn't Eliyas, after allah, only worship his work?
Then why is he different now when it's too late?
Anyways, i was not there to analyze the changes in his personality, that man offended me and i was there to confront him about it!
_" did the interview go well?" He asked like a snake right after i walked inside the empty office and stopped in front of his desk.
He dared asking me without a shame! Indeed those who had shame died!
I laughed mockingly after his question, then i stopped laughing and looked at him with no expression on my face:
_"do you think you can easily walk on me every time and expect me to do nothing about it?"
I asked with extreme disgust, What i felt towards this man was something words can't describe, it was much worse than hatred, Even the sight of his causes me nausea, but i had to keep this to my self and maintain a cold emotionless facade around him.
_"what do you mean?" He asked while Faking confusion.
I didn't want to waste more time with his nonsensical mind games, so i straightforwardly said:
_"today, you humiliated me again Eliyas Filladi, in the past when you humiliated me you were my child's father so i let go of the matter but today you're merely a trash to me, you made me lose everything so I have nothing more to lose.. I swear you will pay for this even if i had to lose my life in the process."
He looked at me silently, His face holding no expression.
I didn't have anything more to say to him so i decided to leave, however, Eliyas suddenly pressed a button and spoke:
_" call the director of the human resources to my office immediately"
I felt confused with his words, it took me quite few seconds to finally understand he was not addressing me, in fact, he was speaking in the internal line after pressing that button, Probably with his secretary.
Still, what made me even more confused was that he looked unusually very dark, his face that held not a single expression only seconds ago, looked extremely angry at the moment.
His eyes were looking at me with an unfamiliar gaze.
He took a deep breath, then with a scary tone he said:
_" you are accusing me again of committing a deed that i have no idea about not to mention that i didn't do, where is your right to do so? you even said you're ready to die while hurting me, well congratulations, You can keep your life because you already hurt me Noursine, like no one did before."
To say i was akin a balloon void of emotions standing in front of him is no wrong, i was like that, i had no feeling because i didn't know how i was supposed to feel.
I didn't know how to respond to what he said, because he looked genuine.. his words sounded very genuine.
But i know he's lying, and the only one who was hurt from beginning to end was only me.
So i didn't say anything..
I attempted to leave his office again and go back home to figure what i will do next with my life, plus it was rude to call another employee in the company while i was still in his office, but the moment my highness gave that man her back, he roared:
_" where do you think you're going? It became a habit of yours to throw blows on me then walk away leaving me in a torment behind, but not today Noursine! Today you'll stay here until i allow you to leave. Sit down!"
He sounded like a beast who was ready to kill, Do you think i have courage when facing such monstrous anger?
Unfortunately i don't.
I sat on the chair like an obedient little girl and i didn't dare to look at him again.
Few minutes later, An elderly male employee walked inside the office, however, before he even got the chance to do his greetings Eliyas roared:
_"i assigned you to employ Saadat Noursine in the company and to keep the matter low keyed and follow the formalities, now she's here claiming she was humiliated.. So explain to me how such a small mission humiliated my wife?"
_"your wife?" The elderly employee asked looking like if his soul was being sucked out of his body.
_"do you have any objections on her being my wife?" Eliyas answered with a ready to kill tone.
Although i was surprised Eliyas was referring to me as his wife in front of an employee, I still felt very sorry for this poor man in face of a monster.. He gulped in fright then replied:
_" of course not, I apologize for the struggle the lady had to go through, mr filladi, i referred your order to my subordinate.. I don't know what happened in his end!"
_"then you go bring him here to explain for us what happened!" Eliyas shouted impatiently.
Within seconds, The elderly poor man ran out of the office to execute the order literally.
While waiting for his return, i didn't even dare look at Eliyas again, when i remember that i actually threatened to take revenge from him i feel very ashamed, If this little already made my heart beat like a drum then how am i supposed to face him for serious!
Few minutes later, a group of 7 people walked inside the office, the secretary i earlier met was among them.
They all looked sourer than a lemon, no one dared to say a word until Eliyas ordered:
_"speak!"
The earlier elderly man was the only one who had the courage to speak, he smiled nervously then he said:
_"these are all the parties involved, it was a misunderstanding, mr Filladi, when your order was transfered from one department to another it seemed like the fact that it was directly issued by the CEO had altered, The final order that reached the employee whom the lady met today insisted on the urgency and the importance of the mission but had no mention of your direct involvement, we sincerely apologize for the incident."
_"if an apology was enough i would not have summoned you all here" Eliyas said sinisterly.
That look on his face .. I knew right away that they were going to be extremely hurt.
As it turned out to be.. I was mistaken.
Very mistaken..
And i dragged so many people in the middle.
The secretary who had met me honestly sounded like a rightful person who just wanted to stand for something she found wrong.. It was not her mistake.
At that moment i felt very burdened.. In the past when Eliyas banned my broadcasting channel many employees went jobless and had to suffer the consequences of something they didn't do.
I didn't want to carry another guilt to my grave ..so i decided to stand for them. Even if i had a tiny chance of possibly saving them i wanted to take it anyways not to feel regret in the future.
So i stood up from my chair and i stepped closer to Eliyas.
He kept looking at me with every step i was taking. And when i finally was in front of him.. i was literally fighting my wish to ran away where his murderous gaze wouldn't find me.
I frowned in guilt realising that i was unfair to him and accused him wrongfully.. I sighed and whispered:
_"Eliyas.. I was wrong, i apologize"
And somehow.. All his anger seemed as if it magically vanished.
_" will your apology erase the words you said?" He asked.
Why is it so hard to apologize to that person!
Honestly once he started bargaining and acting philosophical.. All the guilt i felt had vanished.
So what? .. He hurt me countless times and never acted sorry about it, and there i was only mistaken once and he's acting like a war martyr!
Still there were many lives on the stake.. I had to put up with him.
_" i had accused you wrongfully and i'm sorry about it.. As for the other words i said i will not take them back, you can consider them as a warning for the future. And let these people go because they only did their job properly."
He looked at me seriously.. But he said something completely not serious next:
_"it's very rare to hear you demand anything except for divorce from me"
He turned to look at the 7 people who were turning into ghostly pale creatures with every passing second and then he said:
_"consider your selves lucky today because i will only fire you.. Now get out before i change my mind"
_"why did you fire them!" I objected.
Although i knew that only firing them was very merciful of him.
That man.. Always goes very extreme with such incidents.
_"it is not your job to teach me how i conduct my company" he said to me.
He suddenly walked the step that was separating us once we were left alone in the office.. His arm circled my waist tight and pulled me towards him until we almost collided.
_"what are you doing?" I asked in objection while i tried to push him away.
Of course pushing him away included me putting my hands on his arms and trying to free my self. But i couldn't move that rock.
He suddenly held my chin with his free hand and raised my face to look at his.
I started feeling frightened already. and i didn't try to push him away in vain. Not even his fingers that held my chin.
I only kept looking inside his eyes with an expressionless face. After long moments he finally said:
_"also, that night three years ago..at the party, It wasn't my deed, i was surprised to see you there and i thought you were smart enough to know that we were both tricked. Yet, you chose to not believe me."
While speaking in anger his eyes moved between my eyes .. And my lips.
His look was so intimidating and passionate at the same time that i already felt i was kissed with anger and with desire.
_"Eliyas" i called his name.. Just wanting him to stop bringing the past again.
But he didn't .. It seemed like i really hurt him when i accused him unfairly in the past, and even now.
He continued:
_" you even said you wanted to leave me for the first time that night, because of something i didn't do. And as if that wasn't enough .. you further chose to tell me that you were pregnant at that time of all the occasions we had and you turned happy news into a knife to stub me with, to make me suffer even more. You really are an expert in this aspect .. You still haven't changed after all this time"
_"Eliyas.. I'm not sorry for that night, because no matter what was your reason..you still chose to be with another woman" i whispered.
My heart already beating so fast, and i began to lose control of my emotions standing so close to him.
His fingers that were holding my chin suddenly started moving to touch my face.. And to circle my lips.
Breathing faster he said:
_" i never did"
As if he couldn't hold him self any longer.. He bowed his head so close to mine, the muscles on his jaw were tightened and his eyes saying that the man who was so close to me wanted to kiss me more than anything else in the world.
What i had with Eliyas before was coldness. Lack of words, so many understandings and unrestrained desire.
And what we have after so many years was hatred, blame, and the same desire that we fought to restrain.
Not wanting him to have his way with me again.. I looked away from his burning eyes. I pushed him again with more force.. And i walked away from him.
_"i don't care about any of that anymore.. Not about you, and not about anything" i finally said.. With an indifferent tone while standing away from him.
For a moment he looked at me like a wounded person.. But in the next it seemed like if he snapped out of it, he sat down behind his desk again.. And in a professional mannerism he said:
_" tomorrow you will start your work in the public affairs department, your shift starts at 8:30, the employees will not be informed of your identity as my wife so you don't have to worry about your safety and freedom. If you find the public transportation is not convenient then a company car can be provided. As for your salary and schedule you can discuss that at the human recourses bureau."
_"why are you doing all this .. I'm just curious to know" i commented.
He looked at me for a bit, and then he answered:
_" i'm just a man who is trying to keep his family"
