Margot looked at the caller ID showing up on her smartphone screen. Her eyes were devoid of the usual gentleness and love. She pursed her lips tightly and picked up the phone with a bit of anger.

“Mom, my brother and I have arrived at the hotel.” Yvonne’s voice was soft and sweet. “We just went to the banquet hall. But we didn’t see you and Dad. Did you arrive at the hotel? Where are you now?”

Why did you lie to us and tell us that the Young Master Lambert is close to you and will come to your birthday dinner tonight?”

Yvonne’s expression suddenly changed. Her eyes widened in shock.

She hadn’t said anything yet. The birthday party tonight hadn’t even officially started yet. How could Margot find out…

“You want to ask how did I know? Your father and I met the Young Master Lambert you’ve mentioned.
