Chapter 1983 Warn Him
âMaya, Iâll let you die a glorified death. Once you get to hell, you must remember to thank me.â Janice was so delighted that she laughed out loud. âWhat happened? Why are you so happy?â
Mabelâs voice rang out behind her and gave her a shock. Janice stopped laughing and turned to Mabel. âNothing. Why didnât you knock before you entered the room?â
âYou didnât close the door either! Furthermore, the Simpson residence belongs to me. I can go anywhere I want to! Why should I knock?â
What?
Janice glared at her angrily. Once I have Wilbur, Iâll make sure Mabel has nothing to do with the Simpson residence when Wilbur inherits everything. When that happens, I want to see how she is going to show off in front of me.
âI saw you looking at your phone earlier on. What were you looking at that makes you so happy?â
âNothing. Just some random stuff.â
âOh, I see. I thought⦠Janice, has it ever occurred to you that even if something happens to Maya, you will still never get Wilbur?â
âWhat do you mean by that? I told you before that it is up to me to win Wilburâs heart. You donât have to worry about me.â
âEven if you are capable, what if Wilburâ¦â Mabel gave her a meaningful look.
Janiceâs heart skipped a beat. The smile on Mabelâs face was giving her goosebumps.
She stared straight at Mabel. âWhat are you trying to say?â
Mabel walked up to her and whispered into her ears, âAll I want to say is if anything untoward happens to Wilbur, your dream will never come true. Enjoy the Simpson residence while you can. In the future, you may not get a chance.â
Janice was taken aback.
Mabel seemed to be insinuating something. Is she planning to hurt Wilbur?
âAre you planning to hurt Wilbur?â
âDonât talk rubbish. Iâm by your side all day long to look after you. Where will I get the chance to hurt him? Besides, heâs a grown man. How am I going to do that?â
Janice looked at Mabel and felt very unsettled.
Mabel threw her a smug glance before leaving the room. Once she left, Janice picked up her phone to call Wilbur.
At that moment, Wilbur was in a meeting at the office. When the caller ID indicated that the call was from Janice, he declined it impatiently.
Seeing that he did not answer her call, Janice became more panicky. She phoned him again, but he still declined her call.
Whatâs going on?
Did something happen to Wilbur?
Feeling unease, she gave Wilburâs assistant a call. When Jeff saw it was her, he declined the call.
Why arenât they answering their phones? Did something happen to both Wilbur and Jeff?
She was so anxious that she called again.
Jeff silenced the phone and had no choice but to walk out of the conference room.
âHello. Ms. Moniker, what can I do for you?â
âWhy didnât you answer your phone just now? Where is Wilbur? Is he okay?â
Why wonât Mr. Simpson be okay?
Crazy woman!
Mr. Simpson is in a meeting right now. What can possibly happen?
âMs. Moniker, you worry too much. Mr. Simpson is in a meeting right now. He is fine. If thereâs nothing else, Iâll need to return to the meeting.â
âTell Wilbur to be careful. Someone wants to hurt him.â
What did she say?
Jeff noticed that Janice sounded serious and secretive. He nodded and responded, âSure. Iâll inform Mr. Simpson.â
Once the meeting was over and they returned to their office, Jeff passed her message to Wilbur.
âMr. Simpson, Ms. Moniker wants me to tell you to be more careful. I guess she didnât sleep well last night. Or, maybe, she had a nightmare and dreamed that something bad happened to you. Thatâs why she called us in such a hurry.â
Wilbur said nothing.
The other night when she was having dinner with Maya, Janice had already messaged him and warned him to be careful. Now, she called to remind him again. There must be a reason why she is doing this. Janice has been spending the past few days with Mabel. Perhaps, Mabel canât wait to make her move against me?
