Chapter 1917 She Bullied Me
Maya was ungrateful enough to doubt my beauty products! Since she doubted my beauty products, I criticized her food. Isnât that fair? Why is she upset? What a fool.
âNina, youâre being ungrateful!â With that said, Maya harrumphed icily and marched out of Ninaâs room. After the door slammed shut, Nina flashed an amused grin.
Mayaâs adorable when she gets mad. She looks exactly like a foolish and stubborn dog! I shall give her the nickname Goofy. After washing up, Maya stalked downstairs in a huff. Both Evan and Nicole were curious to see her puffed-up cheeks.
âMaya, why are you mad early in the morning? Did someone upset you?â Evan asked as he stared at her cheeks. Mayaâs eyes shone mischievously. She was about to mention Nina when something occurred to her. âDaddy, if I tell you who made me upset, will you avenge me?â she asked.
âOf course. Youâre my daughter, so Iâll side with you,â Evan replied firmly at once. âReally? You must keep your word!â
âWhen have I ever went back on my word?â Evan asked. âAll right. You should teach Nina a lesson. She was the one who made me upset! Donât go back on your word!â Maya stared at him unblinkingly.
Evan and Nicole were surprised to hear that. âDid Nina bully you?â
âYes, she did!â Maya insisted. Evan queried, âHow did she bully you?â
âI was nice enough to invite her to try out the honey shortbread I just created. Besides refusing to try them out, she also said sheâd get a tummy ache after eating them. Isnât that too much? Has she ever suffered from a tummy ache after eating the food I cooked?â Maya poured everything out angrily.
Both Evan and Nicole fell silent.
They shared a look. Even if Nina didnât want to eat the food, she shouldnât have criticized Maya. Thatâs too much.
âMaya, calm down. Iâll ask Nina to apologize to you later.â
âThat isnât enough. Daddy, youâll have to teach her a lesson that sheâll never forget!â Maya proclaimed.
âAll right. I know,â Evan assured her.
Just then, a series of steady footsteps approached them. It was Nina who was heading over in her heels.
âGood morning, Daddy, Mommy!â Nina greeted them before taking the seat next to Maya.
Maya gave her an angry look.
Nina ignored her and picked up a slice of pizza. Before she could bite into it, Evan stopped her.
âNina, you donât get to eat breakfast today,â he announced.
Confused, Nina asked, âWhy?â
âMaya was the one who prepared breakfast today. You donât want to suffer from a tummy ache, do you?â
Nina gaped in disbelief. What is Daddy talking about?
She glanced at the spread on the table before turning to look at Maya.
âThatâs impossible. She only came down a few minutes earlier than me, so thereâs no way she couldâve prepared breakfast in such a short time,â Nina responded in bewilderment.
âEven if Maya didnât prepare breakfast, you donât get to eat it,â Nicole chimed in.
Nina was puzzled. âBut why? Daddy, Mommy, why wonât you let me eat breakfast? I need to know the reason.â
âThe reason?â Evan explained slowly, âYou shouldnât have criticized Maya! She was kind enough to let you try her new pastry. You can reject her offer if you donât wish to try it, but you shouldnât have said it would cause a tummy ache! For example, youâd be insulting Mommy if she offered to give you a checkup, and you suspected that her treatment would take your life. Donât be disrespectful, okay?â
Nina turned to look at Maya. âOh, so Goofy told on me, huh?â
Maya was displeased to hear Nina calling her âGoofy.â
âDaddy, hear that? She gave me the nickname âGoofyâ! Thatâs an insult!â She turned to glare at Nina. âIf Iâm Goofy, then youâre Daffy! You foolish Daffy!â
