Chapter 1722 Nina Insulted Wilbur
âUnderstood, Mr. Simpson.â
The good assistant left the office but kept wondering, Whatâs going to happen in the parking lot? Is Janice planning on making a scene again?
He rushed to the parking lot, and from a distance, he saw Janice getting out of her car and approaching âMaya.â
âOh, youâre still here?â commented Nina while checking Janice out to judge the latter.
âMaya, can we talk?â
âWhat do you want to talk about?â
Janice replied, âWilbur and I will surely be together. Iâm his fiancée and the mother of his baby. Thatâs why I wish for you to stay away from him.
âYouâre the daughter of the Seet family, and itâs very unbecoming of you to stay in touch with an engaged man. Iâm asking you to stay away from him for your sake as well.â Janiceâs voice was soft, and she sounded ever so sincere.
Silence stretched between the two for a few moments.
Looking Janice up and down, Nina couldnât help sneering a second later.
âWow, I guess everything you do is for anotherâs sake, huh? First, you asked Ma⦠I mean, you asked me to give up on this relationship for the sake of your unborn child. After that, you asked me to stay away from Wilbur for the sake of my reputation. How are you so selfless and kind? Are you a saint? How unfortunate that you couldnât be like the Virgin Mary and had to sleep around.â
Janice didnât expect a comeback like that, so she ended up feigning being hurt.
âHow can you say that, Maya? Youâre acting like an uncivilized and ill-bred woman. My hands are tied, and I have no choice. You canât ask me to abort my baby â itâs innocent! Itâs not right to take its life away!â
Stunned, Nina stared at the pregnant womanâs stomach and pointed out, âUncivilized and ill-bred? First, you slept around and got pregnant before you even married. After that, you acted like an uncultured swine and forced a couple to break up. Lastly, you involved Wilburâs parents in this matter and troubled them. Do you honestly think you should talk to me about being civilized?
âYou know, while weâre at it, allow me to commend you on your incredible ability to bullsh*t. When have I ever forced you to get an abortion?
âThere are dozens of single moms out there, and if you truly love this baby, youâll give birth to him regardless of the hardships ahead. Youâll also raise the baby well. A good mother wouldnât repeatedly threaten to kill her baby. She certainly wouldnât repeatedly talk about getting an abortion so freely just so she can have what she wants.
âEvery mention of abortion is essentially equivalent to forcing the baby in your womb to hear about how his mother will murder him. Youâre a selfish and cruel mother, so donât talk about being civilized because youâre just an animal who shouldnât be allowed to breed!â
Janice was utterly speechless as she stared at âMayaâ in surprise.
She didnât expect the latter to have that sharp a tongue and be such a force to be reckoned with.
âSo youâll keep badgering Wilbur. You simply refuse to leave him. Is that it?â demanded Janice.
âBadger him? Oh please, only someone like you will be interested in a jerk like him. I actually think that the two of you are perfect for each other. In a way, youâre taking yourselves out of the courting pool and preventing your inferior genes from spreading!â
Janice looked surprised as she exclaimed, âY-Youâre calling Wilbur a jerk?â
She deliberately raised her voice to let everyone know that âMayaâ had insulted Wilbur.
Nina, however, didnât care whatsoever. She admitted, âYeah, I did. Are you thinking itâs a pity that he didnât hear it? Donât worry. I already insulted him to his face before I left his office, and you can head over right now to ask him about it.â
Maya insulted Wilbur? She smashed a bottle of wine on his head and caused him to bleed the last time we met. Today, she insulted him. Wilbur must see her as a horrible woman now. Is she only reacting this way because the words I said at the office got under her skin?
âDo you really not love Wilbur?â asked Janice.
âNot. At. All. You can keep the jerk all to yourself,â declared Nina firmly.
Janiceâs lips curved into a mocking grin. After that, she said, âThen please stay away from him from now on.â
âDonât worry. Heâs all yours. Do the community a favor and keep an eye on him, will you? Donât let him wreak havoc and hurt other women again.â
After she finished speaking, Nina rolled her eyes at Janice and left.
Janice stared as Nina walked away, a triumphant smile on her face.
