Chapter 1318 Opening A Hospital
âNicole, youâve been through a lot these past few years. Weâve encountered so much together as well. You gave birth to five children, and thatâs an amazing feat. I hope you can have a peaceful future and do whatever you want. You donât have to make a career for yourself.â
âBut Iâll have regrets if I donât do this. I want to do something!â
After pondering for a while, Evan replied, âHow about we do something meaningful?â
âLike what?â
âLetâs open a hospital. You can use your acupuncture skills and save people. We can waive the consultation fees for people who are in difficulty. It would be meaningful to help people, and you would feel a sense of satisfaction too.â
Nicole pondered over the idea for a while. Thatâs right. There are many people that can manage a company, but there arenât many that are as skilled as me and have as much medical expertise. If I could help more people, it would be great.
âWhat about my previous clinic?â
âThat clinic was too small. You only opened it so that you could take care of the children. Also, the consultation fees were low as you wanted to help people. Thatâs why your finances were not that good. That wonât happen this time.â
âEvan, are you trying to say that youâre going to invest money in me so that I can save people?â
After a moment of contemplation, Evan suggested, âI canât keep investing money in it as it wouldnât be feasible in the long run. How about this? We can use the profits earned by the hospital and reinvest them back. If the hospital doesnât earn that much profit, then we can add on a certain amount of funds every month. What do you think?â
Nicole analyzed, âNot all those that go to the hospital will be people in financial difficulty. We donât have to do charity for those that can afford it. Then, we can use this revenue to fund those that donât have money for treatment. I think we wouldnât need to add on too much.â
âGood. Then Iâll leave the financial managing of the hospital to you.â
Elation flooded Nicole as she nodded. âWhat shall we call the hospital?â
âYou can name it yourself!â
âMe?â
âYes. From now on, youâre in charge of the hospital. You can start by naming it.â
Nicole was excited and started thinking of names for the hospital. She was determined to find a meaningful name for it.
The next day, Juan was sitting opposite Evan as they ate breakfast. He recalled Evanâs wrongful accusation last night and felt indignant.
On the other hand, Evan was leisurely eating his breakfast and would look at Juan occasionally.
Itâs now or never! Juan demanded in an upset tone, âDaddy, why did you instigate Mommy to beat me?â
âWhat did you say?â
âMommy hit me using the feather duster last night because you wrongfully accused me.â
âWronged you?â Evan glared at him coldly. âI have to ask, how did you even think of scaring your female classmate with rats and snakes?â
Juanâs heart lurched. Isnât the school in a private facility? Arenât all the happenings in school kept confidential? How did Daddy find out?
âSpit it out!â Evan suddenly raised his voice, leading to Juan jumping in fright.
âShe brought it upon herself! Instead of going for lessons, she came to bother me. I just scared her a few times so that she wouldnât come and bother me anymore.â
âYes, and she became so scared that she doesnât even dare to stay in school anymore and dropped out!â
Juan was dumbfounded. How does Daddy know so many details?
He carefully asked, âDaddy, how do you know all these?â
âYour grandma told me.â
Juan was shocked. âGrandma? How did she find out about it?â
âShe wanted to introduce a girl to you. However, when the girl heard your name, she adamantly refused to meet you as if she had heard the devilâs name. She even said that she would never marry you even if you were the last man on Earth.â
