267 A Meet-up With Friends

It was finally the weekend and Li Zi finally had time to ask Shen Yin out for a meal.

Shen Yin woke up early in the morning to wash up and put on makeup. She kept feeling a resentful gaze on her back, making her feel inexplicably guilty.

After applying the last stroke of lipstick, she turned around helplessly and looked at the man who was leaning against the head of the bed and staring at her. “I’m just going out with Li Zi. I’ll come back early to spend time with you.”

Lian Jing snorted. He lifted the blanket and suddenly got out of bed. He stood in front of the makeup mirror and pinched her chin. He vengfully licked off all the lipstick she had just put on. He stared at her sinisterly and said, “Why do you need to put on makeup when you go out with Li Zi?”

Shen Yin was speechless. Surely putting on makeup before leaving the house was normal? She was usually busy with work and wanted to sleep in, so sometimes, she would skip her makeup. But that did not mean that she did not know how to put on makeup.

However, in order to get out of the house without him causing trouble for her, Shen Yin decided to coax him. “It was just an impulse. I’m just going out for a meal. I’ll be back soon.”

Lian Jing let go of her chin and looked elsewhere. “Shang Sheng invited me to go out and have fun this afternoon. I wanted to bring you along.”

Shen Yin did not take it to heart and smiled happily. “Have fun then.”

Lian Jing was so angry that he suddenly did not want to talk to her. He turned around and walked into the washroom to wash up. When he came out again, Shen Yin had already left.

Li Zi said that the two of them had not met up for a long time, so they must have hotpot. They could catch up with each other as they ate.

Shen Yin did not see Li Zi when she arrived. Just as she was about to call her, she saw a familiar figure suddenly emerge from a milk tea shop.

Li Zi happily stuffed the fruit tea she had just bought into Shen Yin’s hand. “Here. It will help relieve the greasy aftertaste .”

Shen Yin took the milk tea with a smile. Li Zi was still the same. Whenever they went out together, she would always bring a cup of milk tea for Shen Yin.

After entering the hotpot restaurant, the two of them found a corner by the window and sat down.

Li Zi rubbed her hands and asked the waiter to bring the menu. After ordering more than ten dishes that she and Shen Yin liked, she handed the list to Shen Yin. “Is there anything else you want to eat?”

“No, that’s enough. You know best what dishes we order when we eat hotpot together.” Shen Yin smiled and returned the menu to the waiter. “That’s all. I want a spicy soup base, thank you.”

Both of them loved spicy food, so they often asked each other out for meals.

After mixing the sauces, the two of them found time to catch up.

Shen Yin was very curious about who Li Zi had gone on a date with that day. She stared at Li Zi in surprise and asked, “Do you have a boyfriend?”

Li Zi nodded shyly, then suddenly looked up and explained, “I didn’t mean to hide it from you. It’s just a little… um, awkward.”

“What’s so awkward?” Shen Yin asked in confusion.

Li Zi hesitated for a while before making up her mind. She took a deep breath and said, “Do you remember that man I introduced to you on a blind date?”

“I remember.” How could Shen Yin forget? Later on, he had even gone to the hospital with Li Zi to visit her… Wait! Why was she bringing this up? Could it be…

“Surely not?”

Li Zi blushed and nodded with difficulty. She fidgeted pitifully and said, “You’re not angry with me, are you?”

Shen Yin understood why Li Zi had hidden the fact that she had a boyfriend, and deliberately put on a stern expression to scare her. “I am angry. Wasn’t that the man you introduced to me? Why are you keeping him for yourself?”

“Yin Yin, I didn’t do it on purpose.” Li Zi held her hand on the table and shook it gently. “Besides, don’t you already have Lian Jing?”

Shen Yin was amused by her pitiful look. She retracted her hand and could not help but roll her eyes at her. “You know that I already have Lian Jing, but you still hid such information from me. Are you afraid that I’ll be angry?”

Li Zi immediately realized that Shen Yin had been deliberately frightening her. She stomped her feet in displeasure and said, “Girl, so you’ve learned how to lie! I’ll eat all your favorite prawns later and you can go hungry!”

Shen Yin smacked her lips and teased, “Oh, now that you’ve a boyfriend, you’ve learned to act cute. Too bad Fang Cheng isn’t around and can’t see how girly you are.”

“Your mouth is getting naughtier. I should smack it.” Li Zi was just about to do that when the waiter came over to serve the dishes. She was forced to roll her eyes and sit up straight.

Shen Yin was itching to hear how the two of them had gotten together. She batted her eyes and smiled innocently. “Dear friend, have mercy on me. Tell me quickly, how did you get together?”

At the mention of Fang Cheng, Li Zi looked a little embarrassed. “Well, you know how I went with him to visit you that time…”
