Shen Yin looked up at the man who was driving and asked with a smile, “What are we going to eat?”

“There’s a new restaurant near my offuce. Zhong Xin ordered lunch there and I thought it was quite good. I’ll bring the two of you to try it too.” Lian Jing looked through the rearview mirror at the two most important people in his life. His heart was full.

“Dad, do you always think about Mommy during lunch?” Shen Nian batted his eyes, looking like a know-it-all.

“Yes, I always think of her.” Lian Jing admitted openly without blushing and then waited to see Shen Yin’s reaction.

“Aren’t you embarrassed?” Shen Yin glared at him reproachfully, but her little face was as red as a big cherry.

Shen Nian chuckled. Suddenly, he thought of something and looked at Shen Yin with a serious expression. “Mom, I’ve found out about the current case in your police station. Is it the three vicious murder cases in Chengxi?”

Without thinking, Shen Yin grabbed his chubby face and said through gritted teeth, “Did you hack into the police system again? How many times have I told you not to use your skills on the police force!”

“Mom! I’m just worried about your safety!” Shen Nian was really scared by the previous two experiences.

Shen Yin had been working overtime recently, so he had easily deduced that a serious case had happened at the police station. That was why he could not restrain himself and decided to investigate. Lian Jing was driving but he frowned when he heard his son’s words. He asked, “What case? You even know how to hack?”

Shen Nian stuck out his tongue, but he did not plan to hide it anymore. He said honestly, “I knew a master in the past and he taught me. But that’s not the main point. The main point is that Mom might be in danger now!”

“What danger could I be in?” Shen Yin subconsciously thought of her suggestion today and looked away guiltily. “The Lian residence isn’t in Chengxi.”

“That won’t do!” Shen Nian patted his chest importantly and said, “From today onwards, I will pick you up from work every day!”

“Don’t fuss. Lian Jing doesn’t have the time to pick you up and come over with you every day.” Shen Yin tapped his nose dotingly. Seeing her son’s angry little face, her heart immediately softened. “Alright, I promise that if I need to work overtime in the future, you’ll be the first to know, okay?”

“What did you put on Mommy?” Shen Yin glared at her son sternly.

Shen Nian put his hands on his hips and said without any guilt, “It’s a tracking device! Mom, I don’t want a repeat of what happened last time!”
