201 Punishment
âLian Jing, youâve really misunderstood me.â His grip hurt Shen Yin. She slapped his arms hard, but she could not budge the man.
Lian Jing tightened his grip in anger. When his bloodshot eyes landed on the red mark on Shen Yinâs jaw, he regained his senses.
He subconsciously relaxed his grip, but his voice was extremely grim. âThen tell me, what exactly did I misunderstand?â
âI just wanted to clarify matters with him so that he wouldnât like me anymore.â Shen Yin pried his fingers away with much difficulty and rubbed her aching jaw, glancing at him aggrievedly.
âThen why did you need to get into the car? Were you waiting for him to confess his feelings to you?â Lian Jing felt angry at the thought of that scene. He had a feeling that someone had preempted the surprise he had meticulously prepared.
Shen Yin was speechless when she saw his jealous expression. He looked so murderous it was as if they were discussing her getting into someone elseâs bed instead of their car.
âNo, I didnât expect him to suddenly drive off. I didnât lie to you. I really didnât know that he would suddenly appear. I went out to see him because I wanted him to leave.â Shen Yin paused and looked away awkwardly. She held Lian Jingâs hand and said softly, âAfter all, my family is celebrating my birthday today. I donât want to be disturbed by outsiders.â
Lian Jingâs brows twitched. His heart, which had sunk to the bottom of the valley, suddenly fluttered. The corners of his lips subconsciously curled up. âReally? At least you know your place.â
Shen Yin shook his hand. âAre you still angry?â
âIâm angry.â Lian Jing deliberately pulled a long face and pulled her over to open the door.
Shen Nian and Cheng Mu were leaning against the door and eavesdropping. They suddenly lost their balance and toppled into the room.
Lian Jing grabbed Shen Yin with one hand and his sonâs collar with the other. He pulled him up steadily, but ignored Cheng Mu, who was about to fall over.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
However, Shen Nian had caught hold of Cheng Muâs sleeve. He used his fatherâs force to pull her back in time.
âWell, if I told you that we were just passing by, would you believe us?â Cheng Mu fiddled with the corner of her shirt in embarrassment and stole a timid glance at Shen Yin.
Shen Yinâs head ached when she looked at this child, but in the end, she was just a little girl who was helping her brother. She was not to be blamed.
Shen Yin shook her head and said gently, âDonât do such a thing again. Go and play.â
âOkay.â Cheng Mu lowered her head as if she knew that she was in the wrong. She obediently moved out of their way.
Lian Jing snorted and let go of his sonâs collar. He grabbed Shen Yinâs hand and brought her downstairs.
âAre we going out? We havenât gone to see Grandpa today.â Shen Yin jogged behind Lian Jing in confusion.
Lian Jing was tall and slender. He strode forward with his long and straight legs. If Shen Yin did not run, she really would not be able to keep up.
âIâm going to punish you.â Lian Jing frowned and pulled her into the kitchen. âMake soup for me.â
Shen Yin heaved a sigh of relief, but at the same time, she looked at him with uncertainty. âEven my soup tastes awful. Are you serious?â
âYes.â Lian Jing looked like he did not want to say anything more. He leaned against the kitchen door and coldly acted as the supervisor.
Helpless, Shen Yin could only roll up her sleeves and make soup for him.
In the kitchen, the warm sun seeped through the glazed windows, and the fragrance of meat wafted from the pot. Shen Yin struggled to pick up the big pot so she could pour the cooked meat into the clay pot, but a lock of hair strayed from her forehead and suddenly blocked her eyes. She twitched uncomfortably, but the ends of her hair swept across her face, tickling her.
âIdiot.â
A cold hand brushed away the hair. Lian Jing hugged her from behind and held her small hand. He helped her bear most of the weight as he poured the stewed pork ribs into the pot beside him.
âYou go out. I can do it myself.â Shen Yin lowered her head and shyly turned to push against his chest. She felt that the current atmosphere was really not appropriate when cooking.
âYouâre too slow at making soup.â Lian Jing snorted in dissatisfaction. He did not move at all and had no intention of going out obediently.
âSoup takes time.â Shen Yin raised her head and glared at him innocently. But it was exactly what he wanted. His warm lips pressed down on her unexpectedly.
Lian Jing murmured against their lips. âThis is taking too long. Iâll collect some interest first.â
âPresident Lian, Miss Shen!â The old butler led someone in with a smile, but he could not find the two of them anywhere. Just as he was feeling anxious, he suddenly heard movement in the kitchen. He quickly went over to check, not expecting to see the two of them hugging and kissing in the warm sun.
Shen Yin hurriedly pushed Lian Jing away and breathing heavily as she awkwardly turned her head away.
At the sudden interruption, Lian Jing impatiently licked the corners of his lips that were still warm and asked, âWhat is it?â
The butler blushed and stammered, âMiss Li Zi is here to celebrate Miss Shenâs birthday.â
