Chapter 7 – [Part 1]

As soon as he returned to Saye’s bedroom in the palace, Enin prepared a clean cloth and water. She also prepared medicinal herbs and ointments that were good for bruises. Enin said she would accompany Saye, but Kainer didn’t even give Enin a glance, and he ordered everyone to leave the room.

He wet the cloth with water and wiped Saye’s dirty body over and over again. And he applied the ointment on her scratched wounds here and there, waiting for her to wake up.

If only he hadn’t missed it… He shouldn’t have taken his eyes off Saye’s shadow in that market. He swore he wouldn’t let her go through something like this.

“I’m sorry.”

Kainer said painfully as he stroked Saye’s unconscious face. He had messed up just because he wanted to get it all over with quickly, overcome with his greed to be alone with her in the future. If something bad happened to her…

Thinking that far, Kainer swallowed a painful moan.

Everything he did was for her. If he loses her, he loses his only purpose in life. The meaning of coming here this far would be for naught.

It’s Kainer’s voice. Subconsciously, Saye recognized his voice. At that welcoming voice, Saye smiled and opened her eyes. Why are those serious black eyes looking at her, drenched in pain? Saye, who had been thinking about it, sat up and looked at Kainer.
