"Are you going to stalk me forever?" Y/N asked. He didn't bother looking down at the black braided girl sat beside him- over the past few weeks, since Y/N arrived at Nevermore Academy, Wednesday had been his shadow- at least she wore the colours to do so. They were sat at one of the many benches in the quad and while Y/N was highly focussed on his lunch, Wednesday was staring up at him. He wasn't sure if it was a murderous glare or a gaze of admiration- or if there was a difference between the two.

"If I was stalking you, you wouldn't know about it, mi amado." She spoke plainly while she shifted a little closer to him. Wednesday herself wasn't entirely sure what had happened to her. Initially she believed she was ill, but as the days passed she found she didn't necessarily feel unwell. She was infatuated by Y/N. She wanted to know what brands of clothing he liked, the food he ate, what his abilities were, his favourite songs- his favourite subjects. She wanted to know everything about him. There was one thing Wednesday did know for sure. She was obsessed.

Y/N had no understanding of Spanish- for all he knew, she just insulted him. He sighed. "People are looking at us and I'm pretty sure its because of you, not me." He quietly complained as a pair of pupils came into view, walking across the quad. They looked at the two of them, both seemingly pulling perplexed faces and arcing their walks so they can stay distant from the table Y/N and Wednesday sat at. He continued, "Aren't you supposed to be the loner around here- you hanging out around me is only making it harder for me to settle in here."

Wednesday raised a brow. "Solitude is the playfield of Satan." She denounced his comments. "I was simply biding my time and waiting for someone worthy of my full companionship." She added. "What are you eating today?" She questioned, straightening her neck so she could get a better look at whatever he was unwrapping.

He didn't answer, instead the sound of foil filled the quiet around their table as Y/N opened up the small package. He tore his food in half before handing one of the two pieces to Wednesday. "Eat and just... shut up. Please." He didn't mean to be harsh, it was just- he was lonely at his previous school, like really lonely. Rumours had circulated around his last school that he hospitalised the schools star soccer player (which wasn't false) but he didn't mean to. Sometimes he didn't have a great hold of his telekinesis. On the other hand, when he arrived at Nevermore, all of the students seemed to take a liking to him in the first few days- that was until Wednesday seemingly marked him as her territory. The more the two were seen together, the less his peers seemed to want to talk to him- besides a few of Wednesday's 'friends'.

Wednesday took the half of food and finally diverted her attention from Y/N as she inspected it. It was a tortilla wrap of sorts, filled with avocado, cucumber and feta cheese. She thought she could see chicken too but the previous day, Y/N had been eating tofu so it could have been that. It also appeared to be dowsed in siracha. It was certainly colourful, mostly vibrant in greens and reds. She shrugged her shoulders lightly before taking a bite. It tasted good- great even. She was fairly certain that it was in fact tofu but she still couldn't quite tell. Wednesday was impressed- she had missed having a personal chef like she did back home- so maybe this was her opportunity to get homey meals at the academy, instead of the soggy pizza and unappealing stews that was usually on offer. However, the more she chewed, her mouth and tongue began to burn. She swallowed hard and the fiery sensation began to run down the back of her throat and even up to her nose. Her sinuses seemed to cry in pain as her nose began to run and her eyes watered- her cheeks reddened. She inspected the wrap closer to find a plethora of chilies and peppers.

"Hey, Y/N! Howdy roomie-" Enid chirped as she skipped over the bench to sit opposite Y/N and Wednesday at the table, although her look of joy seemed to dissolve as she noticed that Wednesday was very much in discomfort. "Jeez, Y/N- what'd you do to her?" She asked, looking between the pair.

Y/N, after taking a swig of his water grinned. "I'm trying to deter my stalker." He told her pridefully. He handled his heat very well, so eating his half of the wrap had been a breeze- he'd already eaten half but then again, his half hadn't been littered in so many chilies. Before he put the cap on his bottle of water, he offered it out to Wednesday. She didn't hesitate in snatching it off him, chugging the remaining two thirds of its contents. "Wait-! Ugh..." He groaned. "That was supposed to last me the rest of the day..." He breathed.

Wednesday gasped for air as her jaw dropped, now opting to pant, somewhat like a dog to try and get rid of the ongoing blaze in her mouth. She always thought she was fairly resistant to spicey food, but whatever was in Y/N's food was next level. She took a minuet to catch her breath and for the numbing pain to calm down. "What was that?" Wednesday, her speech slightly slurred from numbness.

"You didn't like my food?" Y/N asked, putting on a pout as he looked down at her. Of course, he had expected her not to like it- no normal person would.

Enid raised her brows as she watched the scene play out. Wednesday looked up at Y/N- angry at first but seeing his pout, her heart warmed. She quickly shook her head. She couldn't make him upset- she wouldn't be able to forgive herself- he was far too precious. She picked up the wrap again and shovelled the rest of it into her mouth. "I love it-" She blurted with a mouthful of avocado and tofu- and chilies.

Y/N winced in second hand pain- then in real pain as Wednesday grabbed a hold of his knee under the table. It was as if she was trying to pop his kneecap. He looked down at her hand, then at Wednesday who had scrunched her eyes shut tight while beads of sweat formed on her forehead.

"What the hell?" Enid whispered. "I-I think I hear Yoko calling me- I'll see you guys later-"

"I can't hear anyone calling you-" Y/N spoke through slightly gritted teeth.

Enid seemed to stumble on her words as she tried to validate her excuse. "Its a werewolf thing- y'know, good hearing and all of that stuff." She replied as she stepped over the bench again. She'd never seen Wednesday act so... desperate and for a boy of all things. It felt too strange- like she was interrupting something.

Y/N sighed as Enid walked through one of the many doorways conjoined to the quad. "You see, you're scaring everyone away." He muttered as he placed his elbow on the table, then his head in his hand. "I really am going to die alone, aren't I?! He mumbled to himself.

Having swallowed the food in her mouth, she shook her head. "You'll have me." She took her hand away from his leg and instead used it to wipe away the layer of sweat that had built up.

"Great... I'll be stuck with a tiny deranged- psychotic goth girl for the rest of my life." He grumbled. Actually, when he heard his own words- it didn't sound too bad. What was wrong if a pretty girl was slightly incredibly obsessed with him- it wasn't like she'd tried to murder him yet. The crucial word being 'yet'- he'd heard that seventy-six percent of murder victims were stalked by their killers prior to their deaths. He on the other hand had just almost killed her by feeding her a large quantity of chilies- something he was becoming increasingly guilty about. He released a sigh as he reached into his pocket, pulling out a pair of wired earphones. He plugged them into his phone and put one in his ear, he then went to put the other in the opposing ear but before he was successful, Wednesday had snatched it out of his fingers- putting it in her own ear. Y/N raised his brows before shaking his head slightly.

He picked his phone up of the table and scrolled through one of his playlists for a while before settling on one. Much to Wednesday's surprise, she rather liked the song he had picked out. Her knee bounced slightly in time with the beat. She looked up at Y/N. "What is this song?" Wednesday questioned.

"Jeepers Creepers," Y/N answered. "Actually I picked it because I think it suits you." He added with a small smile.

Wednesday let a smile show too. "How sweet." She replied- for the first time that day, she showed some genuine emotion in her voice. "I do actually have a small collection of eyes." She added.

"What the hell, Wednesday-"

"I don't plan on taking yours, don't get ahead of yourself." She warned him with a roll of her eyes. "Your face is far too enjoyable to look at to dissect." She then continued. She took a deep breath. She really did like Y/N- too much? Yes, but she really didn't care. She shuffled closer to him again- close enough to lean against his arm and rest her raven head on his shoulder. Despite his slender appearance, he was oddly comfortable and warm.

He furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes. "My face is too 'enjoyable'? What does that even mean?" He questioned. In truth he was just glad she wasn't going to gouge his eyes out of their sockets. He thought for a moment. "Wait- are you trying to say I am good looking- are you flirting with me?" His eyes grew wide.

"Mi amor, I've only been flirting with you for the past week." She spat, almost angrily as he finally realised why she was so obsessed with him. But she didn't lift her head from his shoulder, too afraid of how he might of reacted. Instead she closed her eyes and exhaled deeply. Her nose and mouth still very much burnt from his antics and her warm breath only made it more painful.

His jaw dropped as he tried to reply. He found that metaphoric hurdles lay on his brain, causing him to struggle to come to terms of what she had just admitted and how to respond. "I- You could have made it a little more obvious!"

"I offered you my lifelong companionship just two minuets ago, not to mention I have been quite literally clingy with you- I've walked around hanging off of your arm." Wednesday ranted.

Y/N sighed. "In my defence, I thought you were just... weird." He excused himself with a small shrug, causing her head to bounce a little.

"So just because I'm weird, you don't want me?" She questioned, looking up at him. Something had changed in her, like a dormant switch in her brain had finally been flicked. "Because- if that's the case, I'll change for you." She added. She almost felt pity for herself, for how desperate she was feeling. She wasn't even sure why she wanted him so much- like a little kid who wanted a new Barbie doll in the toy store. But there was something alluring about him and the way he made her feel, she needed more of it.

"What, no." Y/N shook his head and looked down at her. He could have gotten lost in her eyes as they met- so deep and dark... it was almost as if he was being engulfed by a dark night sky. "You shouldn't have to change for anyone- no matter how... obsessive you are over them." He told her, firmly but softly. "And when did I ever say I didn't want you?"

"All you have done today is trick me and complain about my looming presence. I think they are clear indications." She pointed out.

Again he was lost for words and stuck trying to make excuses. "Yeah- well that was before I learned that you were doing it because you have a crush on me. For all I know you were just waiting for the right opportunity to jab a knife in my throat."

"I do not have a crush." She scolded. "Crushes are petty social constructs for teenagers and young adults who don't know what love is." She corrected.

Y/N truly wasn't sure if he could handle Wednesday. She seemed to have an answer for everything he threw at her. "Okay- so if you don't have a crush on me.... Then what-? Are you are in love with me?" He asked, almost perplexed by his own question.

Love. She wasn't sure if she was in love, just infatuated. But she followed her trail of thought. Why would she be so obsessed with him and what was the end goal? To kill him like he thought she would? No. To keep him around as a loyal slave? No, but she thought that might be fun. She just wanted to be with him. Wednesday wanted to wake up next to him in bed. She wanted to make breakfast with him. She wanted to write poems for him. If that wasn't love then she had no idea what love was. "Yes." She answered bluntly. "I am in love with you." She reiterated with a nod. "And if you don't feel the same way then I don't care- I will haunt you like a phantom until you realise your love for me and if you never do- then..." She trailed off.

He was taken aback by her confession of love. the surprise seem to overtake him as his cheeks flushed red with shades of embarrassment. "'T-Then' what?" He stuttered as he noticed she never finished her sentence.

"I don't know. I don't know what I would do." Wednesday answered, confident but unfulfilled. She needed him.

Y/N had never had someone feel so deeply for him before. No one had shown him so much dedication and affection. Not even his parents or siblings were this fond of him. He almost felt lovesick as butterflies and moths alike fluttered deep within his stomach. He nodded his head. "Okay."

"Okay? all you are going to say is, okay?" She blurted out through grinding teeth as her jaw clenched together. "I just drained my heart of all my feeling and 'okay' is all you have to say? Are all boys this emotionally stunted-"

"I mean okay- lets try this out, me and you." He quickly interrupted. While Y/N wasn't entirely sure who Wednesday really was and what her interests were- he was certain that she was sincere in her words. If she was so desperate for him, the least he could do was give her a chance with him- and if things turned out well that she could have him for as long as she wanted. Besides, how could he say no to someone so beautiful and as intimidating as she was.

Wednesday smirked a little "Really?" She asked him. She almost couldn't believe that he was interested. Y/N answered with a nod of his head. "I swear on my brother's life- if this is some sort of ruse or ploy, I will harvest your skin and feed it to my colony of fire ants." She threatened- but of course still smirking.

He held his hands up in defence. "No, I am being completely serious. How does a date sound, this Saturday?" He asked her.

The bell rang signalling the end of lunch. The two had botanical sciences together next but neither of them moved. "Alright. A date, this Saturday." She repeated. He nodded her head in response and grinned. He stood up from his bench and pulled his bag onto his shoulders. Once Wednesday did the same, he held a hand out to her, showing an offer.

She appeared to hesitate for a moment before her cold hand slipped into his warm one, much like a glove. The pair walked like this all the way to their next class which they were a few minuets late to. Being the last to arrive, they had a lot of eyes on them as they entered- but Wednesday didn't mind, in fact she stood proud and possessive over her obsession.
