The next day

Corinne's POV

I woke up after a very satisfying night with Callie. I think we were up until like four in the morning, although I wasn't complaining. She was hard to please in bed as I found out but I was able to wear her out in the end. I don't think she's ever called my name so much in a short amount of time. Yes, I am totally praising myself right now,

"Hmmmm, you shouldn't get all the praise love. You called my name out just as many times."

I turned around to face Callie and mentally cursed myself, I totally forgot that after you mate, your other half can read your thoughts if you don't put up your mental block, which is something I forgot to do,

"It would be best to put that mental block up now baby."

I smiled and nodded before closing my eyes and imagining building a brick wall around my mind. Once I was sure the mental connection between me and Callie was gone, I opened my eyes and smiled down at her before giving her a kiss,

"Good afternoon."

Just as I was about to pull away, she gently grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me back in for another kiss. One that was a lot longer than the last one.

She eventually pulled away from me and smiled, "Now it's a good afternoon."

I lay my head on the pillow next to hers and we just continued to stare at each other, until I broke the silence

"So what's on the agenda for our first day?"

She gently grabbed my waist and pulled me over her so that I was now straddling her,

"Well, I was thinking we just stay in bed the whole day," She ran a hand down my cheek, down to my neck, "Explore each other a bit more."

I bit my bottom lip and looked down at her through hooded eyes, making her wolf purr,

"Did we not have enough of that last night? I think we explored each other fairly well."

She licked her bottom lip slightly, "We did but I don't think a second time will hurt."

I raised an eyebrow at her, "Second time? You mean fifth right? You wouldn't let up last night."

She chuckled, "I just couldn't help myself."

I leaned down closer to her so that our noses were practically touching, "Hmmmm, I guess we could stay in bed all day."

She went to lean up to kiss me but I pulled back out of her reach and smiled, "Or, we could christen every room in the house."

"Oh really?" She leaned up again and gave me a kiss, "The bathroom," She gave me another kiss, "The living room," And another, "The dining room," And another, "And the games room?"

I nodded and leant down to give her a kiss this time, "Mhmm, even outside on the beach, it is private after all."

"You are a true seductress Corinne." She stated making me smirk,

"You not up for it?"

"Oh of course I am," She placed small kisses on my neck, "What room should we christen first?"

"Let's start in the bathroom."

She placed a final kiss on my neck before picking me up by the waist and literally running into the bathroom, making me laugh at how eager she was. Although I would be lying if I said I didn't feel the same way.

*Hours later*

Okay, so when I said we would christen the whole house, we did just that. I mean, we were dressed now but we did ended up christening the house for hours. We went from the bathroom, to the living room, then to the dining room and games room. Then we went on the beach and we ended up back in our bedroom again. Thank the Goddess we were wolves and we had a lot more stamina than anyone else because I know if I was human, I wouldn't have been able to keep up with her. Don't worry, we did clean the whole house when we were finished, I was adamant on doing that even though we were the only ones permitted on this property but it didn't matter.

I turned to face Callie who was sitting at the bar in the kitchen,

"What do you want for dinner?"

"You know this is your holiday right? You don't have to cook for me. We can always go out to eat."

I shrugged, "I know but I do love to cook and I haven't done it in a while. The chefs always cook for us."

She chuckled and stood up, walking over to me so that she could wrap her arms around my waist,

"You forget that that is their job. It is what they are paid to do."

"I know but they never let me cook. They state that as a Queen, I shouldn't have to cook for myself."

She nodded, "And they would be correct. I can't cook anyway hence why I have chefs, however, most of those chefs have been there before I was born. If I relieve them from their duties, they'll have nowhere to go and they very much enjoy cooking for us, you especially."

I smiled, "They're extremely good at what they do. All I ask is that every now and then, I can cook for myself. Give them a day off or something."

She raised an eyebrow at me, "Will you continue to bug me about this until it is done?" I nodded and she shook her head amused,

"Okay fine, as you wish. When we get back I shall tell them."

I gave her a kiss and hugged her tightly, "Thank you."

"You are very welcome."

I leant back, "Can I ask, why do you speak so formally? You rarely swear, you never abbreviate and you're just naturally formal."

She smiled, "It is how I was raised. As a Princess I was taught that you must not only look and act like one, you must speak like one as well. It is integrated into my mind now, even more now that I am a Queen. Why, does it bother you?"

I shook my head, "Not at all. At first I thought you only spoke that way in public but you speak like that when it's just you and me as well so I was just curious."

"Are you sure it doesn't bother you? If it does I will try my hardest to, how do I say it... Alter my speech."

I smiled and shook my head again, "Seriously Callie, it doesn't bother me. You don't have to change yourself for me okay? I already agreed to marry you didn't I?"

She laughed and nodded, "I suppose that's true. I just want you to be happy though."

I leant my head on her shoulder, "I am happy. Happiness is wherever you are."

"That was cheesy but extremely sweet." She replied amused, making me laugh in return,

"It was cheesy. Thought it just fit well into the moment. Until you messed it up" I stated, leaning back and hitting her shoulder playfully, making her laugh again,

"I apologise. It was very cute my love" She said before giving me a kiss,

I smiled against her lips before pulling away, "So, would you rather I didn't cook?"

She shrugged and moved away from me to go and sit back down at the bar, "It is entirely up to you. I won't control what you do. If you want to cook then please do, however, if you are merely offering to cook because you feel the need to, then don't."

I nodded and turned back to face the cupboard, before opening them and taking out some ingredients. Cooking was truly one of my passions and I did miss doing it. I love cooking for other people so what better way to spark up my passion again than to cook for my own mate?

I decided to make spaghetti bolognese. It was one of Callie's favourites, so I've heard and it was one of the dishes I was able to make the best. It's not my specialty dish but it's close. Luckily, we had all the ingredients to make it otherwise I would've had to move on to plan B, which is something I wasn't planning on doing,

"What are you making?" Callie asked curiously, to which I replied,

"Your favourite." Making her eyes light up slightly,

"You're making spaghetti bolognese? How did you even know it was my favourite? I don't recall telling you that."

I turned to face her, "I know a lot about you Callie. For example, your favourite drink is apple juice, you don't drink alcohol other than wine. You have a sweet tooth but don't like to show it. You have over a hundred staff members yet you know every single one of their names. You don't really like your middle name but think it goes well with your title. You only allow certain people to call you Callie, even if they're your friends. Take Evelyn for example, you've known her for many years so I've heard and yet you won't allow her to call you Callie. She calls you your majesty or Calliria. But I come along and you let me call you Callie straight away. I know that you guard your emotions in public because you're afraid of looking weak. You're also scared to trust anyone in case they betray you like your brother did. Finally, even as a Queen now you're still scared to wake up everyday and lead the kingdom because you're afraid one day you'll slip up. I know all that because even though you don't know it, your eyes, your body language, they speak a thousand words. You talk to me without even knowing that you do."

She sighed and looked down slightly, "I thought I was hiding it quite well."

I walked up to her and placed a hand on her shoulder, "You don't have to hide anything from me baby. You know I'm with you until the end of time. This wall you have built up around you, just take it down when you're with me okay? I know who you are and you never have to change yourself for anyone, including me. Understand?"

She nodded and looked up at me, "I understand. Will you help me knock down my wall?"

I smiled and gave her a kiss, "Of course I will."

I was about to walk back to the counter but she grabbed onto my waist and pulled me down onto her lap,

"Can you just stay with me for a minute?"

I nodded and leant my head on my shoulder. We were silent for a while, until she decided to break it,

"I get really scared sometimes."

I looked at her confused, "Scared of what?"

"It's going to sound ridiculous." She replied with a sigh, making me shake my head,

"You know you can tell me anything."

She let out a deep breath, "I'm scared that maybe, one day you'll wake up and realise that you could do a lot better than me."

I looked at her shocked, but slightly amused... Only slightly, "You do realise that you're a Queen right? How much better can someone get?"

"I'm serious. I know it must sound stupid but I can't help it. I know you love me, you say it all the time but I can't help that little thought stuck in the back of my mind you know? It's ridiculous, let's just forget I even said anything."

I knew Callie like the back of my hand and I knew any moment now she was going to allow me to stand up, then she's going to walk away and suppress her emotions. She did it all the time but I refused to let her do it this time.

She tightened her grip on my waist and I could feel her start to move when I removed her arms and turned around so that I was now straddling her instead,

"I know what you're about to do so don't even try it."

She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. None of us had our crowns on and it was slightly weird seeing her without it on, especially during the day because I'm so used to her having it on,

"I'm sorry, I can't help it. I'm just so used to being alone."

I gently cupped her cheek with one of my hands, "You're not alone anymore okay? Rather than suppressing your emotions, just talk them out with me, I'm always here to listen, you know that. We're on holiday, one of the very few times we'll be able to get away from the castle so let's just enjoy this, okay?"

She nodded and smiled before giving me a kiss, "I don't know what I would do without you now."

I smiled in return and placed my forehead against hers, never taking my eyes away from her ones,

"Well you don't need to think about it because I'll be with you forever now."

She pressed her lips to mine and it turned into a pretty intense make out session in a short amount of time. We may have had sex in pretty much every room in the house but the kitchen was the one room we were never going to do that in. I refused. Making out is fine but we were never to go any further than that. She agreed anyway.

I gently placed my hands on her chest so that I could push her back slightly, forcing us to pull away from each other,

"I think it's time I actually started to cook dinner, it's getting quite late and we haven't eaten in ages."

She smirked, "Are you sure about that?"

I laughed and hit her shoulder, "You know what I meant. You and your dirty mind."

She laughed as I got up from her lap to walk back over to the counter. Naturally, Callie didn't really eat that much anyway so I knew I didn't have to make a lot, considering I didn't eat a lot as well but we haven't eaten in hours so I would make a bit more than what I normally would, for that reason alone,

"I'm going to make a phone call." Callie stated. I nodded in reply and she stood up, giving me a kiss on the cheek before walking out of the room.

I actually managed to finish cooking dinner altogether and Callie still hadn't come back. I waited over an hour and a half for her to come back but she didn't.

In the end I decided to eat without her. I don't know what kind of phone call made her disappear for nearly two hours but she better have an explanation for it and it better be a good one.
