Fair warning before reading this chapter. This chapter, along with a few after this is extremely laid back so if you're looking for action, this isn't it lol
By what I've written, the action isn't until at least chapter 9 so you're more than willing to wait until then. However, if you don't mind it then the next few chapters are just for you.
Hope you enjoy this one :)

Corinne's POV
I woke up and turned around on my side, expecting to see Callie there but she wasn't. I sat up confused and looked around the room. I looked over on her side of the bed to see that her crown was gone as well so I knew she had left the room completely. Her crown was always the very last thing she put on before she left.
This wan't how I intended to wake up on my twentieth birthday that's for sure. Callie's birthday was a few weeks before mine. It was hard to find a present for her because she kept saying how she had everything she ever wanted, which was true. She was a Queen, what more could you really ask for in life?
However, I figured it out in the end. I knew that Callie missed her parents deeply and although I couldn't bring them back, I tried my hardest to do the next best thing. I managed to find a picture of both her parents and I put them in a silver locket. I was going to choose a gold locket but I realised she didn't really like gold. All her jewellery was silver, including her crown.
We spent the morning together and the afternoon with Corey and just before we went to bed, I gave her my gift. She started crying and at first I thought she didn't like it, until she revealed that she was crying tears of happiness, making me sigh in relief.
I was also planning on mating with her that night but she once again refused. She kept saying how she wanted it to be special but a small part of me keeps wondering if she wants to mate with me at all.
I yawned and stretched slightly before standing up from the bed. It took me roughly thirty minutes to finish my usual routine and I was just finishing straightening my hair when Corey ran into the room,
"Afternoon mama Cowinne!" He shouted happily, making me laugh,
"Good afternoon Corey, are you okay?"
He nodded and climbed onto my lap, "I good. You sweep fowever!"
I smiled, "It's only one in the afternoon, you just wake up too early." I replied before tickling him making him laugh,
"Stop! Mama!"
I ceased the tickling and he smiled up at me, "You mean."
I gasped out in fake shock and hurt, "I'm not mean."
He wrapped his arms around my neck and leant his head on my shoulder, "Mama Callie said to wake you if you not up."
"And where is mama Callie right now?"
He shrugged before leaning back to look at me, "She gone. She told me before but I no know where she is now."
I nodded, "You want to go and find her?"
He nodded and jumped off my lap before running over to my side of the bed to pick up my crown. He then ran back over to me and handed it to me,
"Here your cwown mama."
I smiled, "Thank you very much Prince Corey."
I placed my crown on top of my head and adjusted it slightly until it felt right,
"When we find mama Callie we'll ask her when we can get you a crown okay?"
His eyes widened at what I said, "I get a cwown too?!"
"Of course you do. We just have to sort it out first."
"Cool!" He said before running out of the room. I laughed at how happy he was today but I was still upset to the fact that not only was Callie not here, she forgot about my birthday. I'm really hoping I'm wrong about this one but I know for the past few days especially she's had a lot more on her plate and has been working a lot more. I tried to help her but she said she could handle it on her own so I let her be. I'm slightly worried actually, she's never pushed me away like that before.
I sighed before standing up and following Corey out of the room. I knew he would go to the kitchen first, that boy loved to eat and all of the staff adored him. He was a heart-stopper that's for sure.
I walked into the kitchen and everyone bowed at my arrival, "Queen Corinne."
I gave them a single nod, "Good afternoon everyone, hope you all slept well."
Everyone nodded and I got varied replies in response. Chef Marco then placed a plate of breakfast, well lunch, in front of me,
"Happy birthday your majesty."
I smiled and my eyes watered slightly. The staff remembered but yet my own mate was still nowhere to be found,
"Thank you so much Marco, you didn't have to do this."
He smiled down at me, "We did. You've been nothing but kind to us and Queen Calliria has been much happier since you arrived. It's the least we could do."
I thanked him once again before trying to eat my food. Chef Marco was literally one of the best chefs in the world. He's been working here practically since the beginning of the previous King and Queens reign and he was a well respected member of staff,
"Corey, have you eaten?"
He nodded, "Yes mama." He said before finishing the last of his cupcake. At one in the afternoon. I looked over at Marco and he gave a sheepish smile,
"Can you go and wash your hands please Corey?"
"Okay!" He replied before running off the bathroom. He was seriously a good kid and it was still beyond me how his mother could leave him so willingly, without a care in the world. Although I'm happy she did because Corey has been one of the best things to happen to me and Callie. We were actually planning to adopt Corey a bit later on as our own so he'll be named officially as Prince Corey James Matthews-Remington. It had a nice ring to it,
"Ava, do you know where Calliria is?"
The chef I was addressing shook her head, "She was around earlier but unfortunately no one knows where she is right now."
I nodded dejectedly, "Right, okay then."
"I'm sure she'll come around soon your majesty, after all it is your birthday."
I nodded and smiled briefly, "Thank you Ava."
She nodded and bowed before turning back to what she was doing. I didn't even manage to finish eating my food because I was thinking so hard as to where Callie could be that my appetite was pretty much erased.
Corey came running back into the room, "Mama! Mama!"
"What is it Corey?"
He took my hand in his and started to tug on it, "Mama Callie at back of castle! I saw her!"
I stood up from my chair and thanked Marco once again before letting Corey drag me to the back of the castle, where we were met my two guards,
"Queen Calliria told me to give you this your majesty."
He handed me a letter and I nodded before they bowed and walked off. I proceeded to open the letter and read it aloud,
"Good morning or afternoon my love. You're probably wondering where I am right now but unfortunately I cannot tell you. It's your job today to find me. I have laid out a path of rose petals around the castle. All you have to do is follow the path, picking up a series of words along the way. They are out of order so it's also your job to rearrange the words in order to figure out the sentence. I love you and I can't wait for you to find me. Oh and if Corey is with you right now, tell him I said good job and that there is a present for him waiting in his room."
Corey's eyes widened and he literally ran away from me straight to his room making me laugh. I folded the letter back up and put it in my jeans pocket before looking ahead of me to see a path of rose petals leading to my right. I proceeded to follow the petals and after a few metres, I came to a tree and I saw a piece of paper stuck to it. I walked towards the tree to see that it was the word 'Me'. I took the paper off the tree and held it in my hand before I proceeded to follow the path again.
The next word I found was being held by William and it read 'Will'. Notice the joke there. I kindly thanked William and took the piece of paper out of his hands and holding it in mine with the other one. He bowed as I continued to follow the path once again.
The next piece of paper was a bit different. I found it attached to a bouquet of roses that were sat on a bench. This bench was where we had our first disagreement, the day she brought my family here to cheer me up. The piece of paper actually read 'I love you' with the word 'You' being underlined and circled. It didn't take me long to figure out that the main word she wanted me to notice was the word 'You'.
So far I've had a huge smile on my face. The fact that Callie had gone through all this trouble and I thought she had forgotten my birthday. How wrong was I?
I removed the piece of paper from the bouquet of roses and held them in opposite hands. Okay, so far I've had three words, Me, Will and You.
I continued to follow the path of rose petals and it took me into the castle maze. I've never actually been in the maze because I probably could never get out of it but the aim of this maze isn't to get to the other side, it's to get to the middle. Apparently there is a beautiful rose garden full of roses of all colours. I guess I would be able to see it after all. Luckily, I could always follow the rose petals to find my way back out again.
It took a few minutes but I finally managed to follow the rose petals to the middle of the maze. It was a beautiful sight to see. I don't think I've ever seen so many roses of different colours. I didn't even know roses came in this many colours.
I looked ahead of me to see a bench with a piece of paper on it. The rose petals ended there so I assumed that this would be the final word.
I walked over to it and turned it over to see the word 'Marry'. I placed the previous three words onto the bench side by side. Me, Will, You and Marry.
I gasped in shock at what she was trying to say before rearranging the words to say Will You Marry Me.
A few tears ran down my face as I turned around hoping to find Callie, which I did. She was kneeling on one knee holding a small black box with a silver engagement ring in it in one hand and a piece of paper in the other. The piece of paper had a question mark on it, finishing the question off.
She smiled at me, "So, what do you say? Will you do me the honour of marrying me and becoming my wife?"
I choked out a sob before nodding frantically and running up to her to hug her, making us both fall to the ground,
"Yes! Yes, of course I'll marry you!"
She let out a small cheer, making me laugh through my tears before she removed the ring from the box and gently slipped it on my finger.
I leant my head on her shoulder and continued to cry, I was just so happy right now,
"I love you so much Callie."
"I love you too. Thank you for saying yes, I was so nervous you were going to say no."
I leant back so that I could look at her and I looked at her both shocked and confused,
"Why would you think I would say no?" I enquired.
She shrugged and gently wiped the tears away from my face, "It's just that so much has happened lately. You were coronated a couple of weeks ago. Corey came into our lives a couple of weeks before that and you're still adjusting to being Queen. I just thought you would think it's too soon and say no."
"Well, we don't have to get married now, we could always wait a while but I for one can't wait to become a Remington."
Her wolf purred and she pressed her lips against mine briefly, "Queen Corinne Alexandria Matthews-Remington."
I nodded and gave her another peck on the lips, "I told you that your wish would end up coming true."
She laughed, "That you did. One of the best wishes I ever made."
I stood up from the ground and pulled her up with me and only then did I notice her attire, making me raise an eyebrow,
"You're wearing jeans." I stated as a matter of fact. She never wore jeans. In fact, I rarely ever saw her in trousers. She was more of a dress type of person so this was a first for her,
"Well, you said you liked them so I wanted to see what the hype was about, do you not like them?"
I shook my head, "Oh no, I definitely like them. You look cute."
She smirked and adjusted her crown which had moved from when we fell to the ground. She then did the same thing to mine which reminded me,
"Oh, by the way, when will Corey get his crown?"
"I'm not sure. We can either wait until we officially adopt him to coronate him and get him his official crown or we can merely give him a temporary one like we did before your coronation."
"I say we give him a temporary one. When I told him he was going to get a crown he was so excited and it's going to be a while until we adopt him officially due to the paperwork and all of the legalities."
She wrapped her arms around my waist and pulled me closer to her, "Well lucky for you, you're engaged to a Queen."
I smiled, "Lucky me indeed."
She leant forward and gave me a kiss on the lips, "Happy birthday my Queen."
"I thought you forgot." I admitted sheepishly, making her raise an eyebrow at me,
"Oh? And why would you think that?"
I led her towards the bench so that we could sit down and talk properly,
"Well I woke up this morning and you weren't there. I asked Corey and Ava where you were and they had no idea. I just thought you went to work and had so much on your plate that you forgot about it."
She smiled and shook her head, "You know I would never forget a day as important as this one."
"I know, I just thought because you've been working a lot harder than usual lately, you forgot. Also, I felt like you were pushing me away slightly these past couple of weeks and then you refused to mate on your birthday. It's making me wonder whether you want to mate with me at all."
I looked down at my lap after explaining my thoughts to her and she chuckled, "I ask you to marry me no more than a minute ago and you still doubt whether or not I want to mate with you? Really Corinne?"
I looked up at her to see her smiling slightly. I shrugged, "I'm being stupid I know but that's what I thought. It was special that night because we were together, that's all I want."
She caressed my cheek slightly with her thumb, "That's not what I want. You deserve so much more. You deserve wine, roses, music, everything I could possibly give you. Trust me, I've wanted to mate with you so many times before then and since then but until I believe that the setting is perfect, we won't mate. I won't allow it. Don't worry, we'll mate soon, I promise."
I nodded and gave her a peck on the lips before leaning my head on her shoulder, sighing in content. She truly was amazing. Perfect in every way,
"Can I ask what the present was you bought for Corey?"
"Remember how he was begging us endlessly for a puppy?"
A few weeks ago Corey came up to me and Callie and asked us for a puppy. We both agreed that it wasn't the best thing to have right now. Me and her were both so busy, we wouldn't actually be able to take care of it properly and Corey was too young to look after it himself, as much as he denies it. For days after that he begged and begged us to get him one but Callie put her foot down and firmly said no. He was upset for a while after that until we explained to him properly why we couldn't get him one. He understood and from them he hasn't asked us again, thank the Goddess,
I sat up and looked at her shocked, with my eyes narrowed slightly, "You didn't."
"No no I didn't get him a real one. It's an electronic puppy. It has a remote control and everything."
I let out a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness. We already told him no, there's no way we can go back on our word now."
She nodded in agreement, "I agree with you. I just managed to get him the next best thing. When he's old enough and more responsible, we'll get him a real puppy."
"When he's responsible enough he can get as many puppies as he want."
She laughed, "Three maximum and that's pushing it. It's highly likely they'll get lost in castle anyway. Even to this day I manage to walk into the wrong rooms and I've lived here my whole life."
I looked at her amused, "Really?"
"Seriously. One time I remember I wanted to go to one of the servants rooms and I accidentally walked into someone else's room and they were basically having sex."
I burst out laughing, "No way!"
"Yes way. Most embarrassing moment of my life to date. They apologised over and over again for the next month until I finally ordered them to stop, which they did."
I wiped my eyes and calmed down from laughing, "That is crazy. I wasn't even aware you let your staff do that in your castle."
She shrugged, "What they do in their room is none of my business, just like what I do in mine is none of theirs. If they want to partake in such activities then I won't stop them but it must only happen within their rooms, nowhere else, that is when it gets disrespectful."
"Understandable of course. Have you read the book Fifty Shades of Grey?"
"You mean the book that's basically a porno the whole way through with a man that doesn't really understand the concept of BDSM? No, I haven't read it and I never plan on reading it. Trust me, too many people have explained it to me for me to even slightly want to read it."
I smiled, "So what if I read it and said I wanted to try out a few things from the book?"
She looked at me shocked, "BDSM? Never. We most definitely are not partaking in that"
I laughed, "I'm joking Callie. I've never read the book and I don't plan to, I just wanted to see your reaction."
She let out a sigh of relief, "Thank the Goddess for that. I thought you were serious for a minute there."
"No not at all. I don't like things like that. Authority and possessiveness is sexy but there is a limit and BDSM is pushing it way too far."
She hummed in agreement, "Glad we're on the same page with that one."
I smiled at her and stood up from the bench, taking her hand in mine so that I could pull her up with me,
"I think we should go and check up on Corey."
She nodded and we proceeded to make our way out of the maze. Thank the Goddess for the rose petals because I would have completely forgotten which way I came in. Although, Callie most probably knew the maze inside and out so luckily, she would have helped me out anyway.
As we exited the maze, Corey ran past us laughing with around five other children chasing behind him. I smiled at that. At least I knew he was making friends,
"Be careful Corey!!" Callie shouted.
"I will mama!!" He shouted back in reply.
Callie looked down at me, "I guess we don't need to check up on him after all."
"I guess not," I agreed, "So what's on the agenda then?"
"Well usually I would do an inventory on all of the royal weapons, however, today is your birthday so I have cancelled all my original plans for today. Have you ever been horseback riding?"
I nodded and my eyes widened in excitement, "Is that what we're doing?"
She chuckled at my enthusiasm before leading me away from the castle. I've never actually been this far back so I didn't even realise there was something else beyond the maze.
We turned a corner of trees to see a horse stable in front of us and my jaw dropped slightly. There were a lot of horses here. From what I could see, I could count around twenty horses alone and that's just at the front of the stables,
"How many horses do you have exactly?"
"Well there are roughly thirty warrior horses. Twelve civilian or staff horses, for riding lessons and such and then there are five royal horses. The royal horses can only be ridden by myself and you and later on Corey will be able to ride one."
She led me into the stables towards the back where there was a riding area,
"Julian!"
A man that was attending to one of the horses turned around immediately and came running to us. He bowed in front of us,
"Queen Calliria. Queen Corinne."
"Can you please prepare Haven and Majesty?"
"They are both ready your majesty, I shall bring them out for you now."
Callie nodded, "Thank you Julian."
He nodded and bowed before running off into the stables and I looked up at Callie,
"Did you choose the names?" I enquired, to which she shook her head,
"They were my mothers horses before she died so they got passed down to me. She named both of them."
I nodded and left it at that. Callie always got emotional when talking about her parents and I didn't want her to get upset today. She didn't mind showing her emotions around me but when there were other people around, it's a big no to showing her emotions.
When Julian returned he was holding the reigns to two beautiful white horses. They were suited in two different colours, one being red and one being blue. They looked fairly alike but you could see that one of the horses had a small scar just under it's right eye.
Callie led me towards the horses, "This is Haven," She said pointing to the one in blue, the one with the scar, "And this here is Majesty." She said pointing to the one in red,
"Majesty will be your horse now." She stated.
I walked up to Majesty. At first she started to neigh and move away from me, which wasn't a surprise, horses don't usually take kindly to new people. I stretched my hand out but started to walk slower, making her see that I wasn't a threat.
It took a few seconds but after a while, she calmed down and she lowered her head into my hand, making me smile. I gently ran my hand over her mane making her huff slightly but she didn't move,
"She likes you. It's a first from her. The only people she really let touch her is my mum, me and Julian. She sort of went into a depression phase when my mum died, she wouldn't let anyone touch her at all but she's doing a lot better now."
She walked over to Haven and ran her hand down her mane as well and Haven neighed in reply. Callie then proceeded to place her foot in the stirrup so that she could mount the horse. Once she was situated on top of Haven, she looked down at me and smiled,
"You ready to go?"
I followed her actions and mounted Majesty as well before looking over at Callie, "Now I am."
She gently tapped her foot on the side of Haven, which was the signal for her to move forwards. I then did the same thing to Majesty and I followed behind Callie.
I had no idea where she was leading me to but I trusted her so I guess I just had to wait and see.
I couldn't help but glance over at Callie every now and again during our journey. She looked so graceful and with the sun shining down on her, she looked even more beautiful.
We continued down a trail for roughly ten minutes until she came to a halt just at the bottom of a small hill.
She dismounted her horse before she walked over to mine and held her hand out for me. I gratefully took her hand and she helped me dismount as well. I gave her a kiss in thanks and she smiled,
"You wondering where I'm taking you?"
I nodded, "I am. Although I do trust you."
"Remember when I asked you what your dream date was and you said you've always wanted to go horseback riding and have a picnic by a waterfall? You said you would like to go for a swim and then share a kiss behind the waterfall. Have I got everything?"
I nodded and looked at her confused but curious as to what she was getting at,
"You have. What are you saying exactly?"
She smiled, "Well, we just went horseback riding, what do you think comes next?"
I gasped out in shock, "No way!"
She nodded, "Yes way. Just over that hill is your picnic by a waterfall."
"Are you serious?"
She nodded once again, "Come."
She led me forwards and we started walking over the hill. Once we got to the top I gasped at the sight in front of me. She wan't joking.
In front of me was indeed a picnic laid out on the grass. A few metres away was a waterfall. I could see that there was a cave situated right behind the waterfall, where the stream of water met the lake below it.
It looked like a very calm and serene place. It looked like something out of a film to be honest with you, I truly couldn't believe it. This was without a doubt, one of the best birthdays I've ever had. An engagement and a picnic by a waterfall? I don't know what could be any better than this or how she could top it.
She led me towards the blanket situated on the grass and we both sat down. I sat down first and she sat down behind me, allowing me to lean back against her,
"Now I know why you decided to wear jeans today."
She laughed, "Yes, although I must say they are really comfortable. I may have to start wearing these often."
I smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek, "You look cute."
"Thank you." She replied.
She leaned forward so that she could open the picnic basket. I can tell you now that my mouth watered even more at every item of food she took out. They were literally all of my favourites,
"So, I brought barbecue chicken, spicy wedges, sweet chilli coleslaw and onion rings. Then we have either cloudy lemonade or wine if you'd prefer, I know you like both of them. Finally for dessert we have either vanilla cheesecake topped with strawberries or carrot cake, once again, both your favourites. Have I done well so far?"
I turned around so that I was directly facing her, "You've done amazing. I can't believe you did all of this for me. I love you so much."
She smiled and gave me a peck on the lips, "I love you too. Are you hungry?"
I nodded so we both proceeded to dig into the food that she had provided for us. I will be sure to thank chef Marco later for cooking this. I knew Callie didn't cook it because she told me that she was a terrible cook, hence why she has a variety of chefs to cook for her. Luckily for her, I could cook rather well so if at one point we decided to relieve the chefs from their duties, I would cook for her.
Once we had finished our food we lay down on the blanket side by side, our crowns were placed next the basket,
"I know you don't like talking about your parents but can you tell me what they were like?"
She turned to face me so that we were both facing each other rather than looking up at the sky,
"They were really amazing. They were kind, fair, honest and very playful at times. As you know, my dad's name was Carlyle and my mum's name was Callystah. You could see they had a thing for the letter C. My dad was the strict one when he needed to be but he was a teddy bear on the inside. I remember one time I was running in the castle and I broke one of the vases. My dad was really angry but as soon as my mum walked into the room, he softened up. They loved each other so much. I used to look at them and hope that my mate would love me as much as my mum loved my dad and vice versa. They were perfect for each other and the whole kingdom looked up to them. When they died in battle, it's like the whole kingdom went into mourning. I wouldn't come out of my room for weeks and when I finally did, it's like every little thing reminded me of them. I'm a lot better now but I can never walk through the Hall of Royals. Their pictures are up there and I know if I pass it, I would just break down and all of the walls I had built up over the years would have been for nothing."
I gently ran a hand through her hair, "They sound amazing. I wish I could've met them."
She smiled, "I'm sure they're watching down on us. My mum always used to say to me that even if she's not physically here, she's still here. I just can't see her."
I smiled, "She sounds extremely wise."
"She was" She agreed, "But it's your birthday, this is about you, not me."
I sat up and started to pull my shirt over my head, leaving me in my bra. I looked over at her to see her looking at me wide eyed,
"What are you doing?"
I stood up and took off my jeans before placing them next to my shirt, "I want to go for a swim."
"So you undress?"
I shrugged, "I don't want to get my clothes wet and we don't have any swimwear so, why not go skinny dipping?" I explained before taking off my panties.
She stood up and just as I was about to undo my bra she took my hands in hers, "Look, this will be the very first time we see each other bare. I thought you wanted to save that for when we mate?"
I smiled, "I find this to be a lot more adventurous, don't you think?"
I took a step back and undid my bra before removing it from my body. It was the last item of clothing to be removed.
Callie sucked in a sharp breath and looked up and down my body before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath,
"You look so beautiful right now."
I gave her a quick kiss on the lips before I took off running and jumped into the lake. It was pretty cold but not as cold as I expected it to be.
When I resurfaced the water, I looked to see that Callie was in the same position I left her in,
"Are you not coming in?"
She came out of the trance she seemed to be in before nodding and stripping out of her clothes. I started to swim towards the cave behind the waterfall and I heard a splash come from behind me, letting me know that Callie had now entered the water.
I emerged from the water behind the waterfall and I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist, making me smile,
"Not so bad is it?"
She turned me around to face her and immediately pressed her lips against mine. The contrast between how cold the water was and how warm her body was, was intense but they worked so well together.
She gently bit my bottom lip and I didn't hesitate to open my mouth for her, allowing her tongue to meet mine. This was one of our few make out sessions but it was most definitely the best one to date.
She removed her lips from mine and continue to kiss down my neck all the way to the crevice of my breasts, making me let out a small moan.
She then made her way back up and pressed her lips to mine again shortly before pulling away and smiling down at me,
"Well, I think you got the kissing behind a waterfall down to a tee."
"More like making out behind a waterfall." I said in amusement.
She chuckled and shook her head, "You're probably going to catch a cold you know."
"It's very rare a wolf catches a cold."
"True but you are naked in freezing cold water, it's not a good combination." She stated.
"Well if I do catch a cold, I'm sure you'll be there to look after me."
She nodded in agreement, "Indeed I will. you ready to get out?" I pouted slightly making her raise an eyebrow at me, "What is the matter love?"
"I just don't want today to end." I admitted.
"Who said it's ending now? You think I haven't planned something else for you? Come on baby. I'm a Queen, you know I can get you anything you want."
I chuckled, "I'm aware. Still haven't wrapped my head around that yet. So if it's not over, what are we doing next?"
"Well, remember how you told me once that you've always wanted to visit the Seychelles?"
"I remember, what exactly are you hinting at?"
She smiled and gave me a peck on the lips, "Follow me."
She let go of me and started to swim out of the cave and I wasted no time in following behind her. I needed to know what she meant by that comment.
We swam back to land and proceeded to put our clothes back on. We were still soaking wet but we didn't have any towels to dry us off so we really had no choice but to put our clothes on straight away.
Once we both had our clothes on we then started to walk back down the hill,
"Are we just going to leave the basket there?" I enquired.
"I'll ask someone to clear it up later."
I nodded and we reached the bottom of the hill to find that both horses were no longer there,
"Where are they?" I asked confused. Callie let out a loud pitched whistle and no more than a minute later, both horses came galloping towards us and stopped right in front of us,
"They never go too far and they always come back when I call them, hence why I never tied them up. I don't like doing that."
I mounted Majesty and gently patted her. Callie then mounted Haven and we both made our way back to the castle.
Once we arrived back at the stables, we both immediately dismounted our horses and handed the reigns back to Julian,
"Give them both a treat Julian, they did extremely well today."
He nodded and bowed, "As you wish your majesty."
Callie took my hand in hers and she led me back into the castle all the way back into our room. I looked at her confused when she went into the wardrobe,
"Callie, what are you doing?"
She proceeded to walk back out with two suitcases in her hand before she walked over to her side of the bed. She opened one of her drawers and took out an envelope.
She then walked back over to me and handed it to me, "Happy birthday."
I looked at her confused but curious at the same time.
I opened the envelope that she handed to me and gasped in shock at the contents. Two tickets to the Seychelles. I covered my mouth with my hand and looked at her in shock,
"Is this for real?"
She nodded, "Well the tickets are merely for formality, so that I had something to show you. We'll be taking the royal jet so those tickets really mean nothing but we are seriously going to the Seychelles. Like I always say, whatever you want, I will grant it to you. You are a Queen and you should be treated like one."
I smiled and wiped away the tears that had fallen from my eyes, "I can't believe this."
She smiled back at me, "Well believe it. Our flight leaves in exactly," She trailed off to look at her watch, "Forty-five minutes to be exact. Luckily the airport is only ten minutes away and it's my jet so we'll be fine. Although I would like to be punctual as I have something planned for when we land in the Seychelles"
I jumped into her arms to give her a hug and she laughed as she held me up, "Thank you thank you!!" I leant back and gave her a kiss, "I love you. I think I love you more and more each day, you never cease to make me happy and I'll be sure to return the favour, I promise."
"I don't do these things to get something in return, I do them to make you happy. That's all I aim to do, I live to make you happy."
I smiled and gave her a final kiss before jumping down from her arms, "Does Corey know we're going away? How long are we going for anyway?"
"Corey knows we're going yes, I told him a week ago. We'll be going for five days, William will be left in charge until we get back. I'm sure the castle and kingdom will be fine for those few days, nothing serious usually happens anyway and if anything does happen, we may have to fly home as soon as possible."
I nodded in agreement, "Of course."
"Do you want to go and find Corey so we can say goodbye to him?"
I nodded so she took both of our suitcases in her hands and we proceeded to walk downstairs to find Corey. She placed the suitcases down by the front door and asked one of the staff to put them in the limo that was situated out front. He complied and then me and her continued to find Corey. It seems we never have to look far because he always somehow comes to us anyway. He just happened to walk past us,
"Corey honey, can you come here please?"
He quickly walked over to us, "What's wrong mama Callie?"
"Nothing. Remember when I told you I would be taking mama Corinne away for a few days?"
He nodded, "You take her to Seyshee?"
She chuckled, "The Seychelles, yes. Well me and her have to leave now."
He pouted, "You weave now to fwy in pwane?"
We both nodded, "That's right. We couldn't leave without saying goodbye to our little Prince though."
He shook his head and stuck his chest out slightly, "I no little, I big Pwince."
I ran a hand over his hair gently, "Indeed you are."
Callie gestured for him to give her a hug and he ran into her arms. I smiled at the scene,
"You have to be good for Aunty Evelyn okay? Listen to everything she says because if you're bad, me and mama Corinne will know about it. If you're really good, we'll give you your crown when we get back, okay?"
He nodded his head, "I be good mama Callie, I pwomise."
"Good boy. I'll miss you."
"I miss you too mama."
Callie placed a kiss on top of his head and he jumped out of her arms before running into mine and giving me a hug,
"I miss you as well mama Cowinne. Oh and I forgot," He leant back so that he could give me a kiss on the cheek, "Happy birthday mama."
I smiled and could feel my eyes water slightly at how sweet he was. Both me and Callie had become some attached to him over the past month. This will be the first time we're leaving him and it was harder than I thought it was going to be,
"Thank you very much. I'll miss you. Be good."
He jumped out of my arms and nodded, "I will."
He smiled at both of us and waved before running off, probably to find his friends. He was so adorable. I knew the Goddess had sent him to us for a reason and I couldn't thank her enough for it,
"You ready to go?" Callie asked me, to which I nodded and took her hand in mine,
"Let's go."
We proceeded to walk to the front of the caste towards the limo. The driver bowed to us and opened the door, allowing us both to get in. Literally the whole journey I had a huge smile on my face. It was too good to be true.
*The Seychelles*
We had thankfully landed safely in the Seychelles and we were now on our way to our hotel. Callie wouldn't tell me where we were going or even what the hotel looked like. The Seychelles were three hours ahead of home so the time over here was now 11pm. The flight was nine hours long. Luckily we were on Callie's jet otherwise I would've cried from being cramped in such a tight space for such a long period of time.
In this modern age, humans knew about all mythical beings and we lived together in one big cohesion. Most humans and mythicals got on fairly well, however there are still a few that wish to eliminate us all. They're called Myth Hunters. Weird name considering we're not Myths, however it makes sense as well as it is technically an abbreviation of the word Mythical.
Humans have there own Kings and Queens just like we have our own. Every King and Queen know about each other, whether they're human or not, hence why no one looks at me and Callie weirdly when we walk down the street in our royal attire.
Everyone around the world knew about Callie and I'm sure soon enough, everyone will know about me and Corey. The media will have a field day telling everyone I'm sure.
The limo that me and Callie were currently in made a stop and I looked out the window confused. We were right next to the beach, which was extremely beautiful may I add, but there was nothing here,
"Why have we stopped?"
She smiled and got out of the limo before taking my hand in hers, helping me out as well. She thanked and tipped the driver before leading me on a wooden path that was located on the beach. We continued on this for a few more metres before turning right at some palm trees.
There were palm trees on both sides of us and in the distance I could see a house. We continued forward and eventually came to a stop right outside of it,
"So, you're probably wondering where we are," I nodded, "Well, for the duration of our stay, we'll be staying in my personal beach house. Which is now ours. There's a private beach at the back so we'll never be disturbed."
My jaw dropped, "No way."
She chuckled, "Yes way," She opened the front door, "After you your majesty."
I walked forward into the house and my jaw dropped even further. It was beautiful. From the outside it looked fairly small but once you were inside, you could really see how far back the house actually went. It was modern, clean and just fit for a royal.
I walked towards the back of the house and the beach was literally on the back porch. One step out of the door and you were on the golden sand. I was awestruck.
I turned around to find Callie to see that she had disappeared. I looked around confused before I turned a corner. There were rose petals on the floor leading up the stairs and I couldn't help but smile. I now see what she had planned.
I followed the rose petals up the stairs and all the way to a room on the first floor. Yes, there was more than two floors.
I gently opened the door and looked around to see that there were rose petals all over the room. The ambient lighting set a calm mood and there was a bottle of wine in a bucket of ice next to the four poster bed.
There was also calming music playing throughout the room making me smile even further,
"Callie?" I called out.
The bathroom door opened slightly and Callie stepped out of it. My mouth literally watered at the sight. She was in black and white lingerie and my eyes roamed up and down her body,
"What is this?" I enquired, walking closer to her.
She smiled and met me halfway, "I just thought you'd like to unwrap your last present."
I raised an eyebrow at her, "I get to unwrap you? Hmmmm, I've never had birthday sex before."
"There's always a first time for everything. So, what do you say?"
I smiled and took her hands in mine before leading her towards the bed. I gently lay her down on top of it before hovering over her,
"I love you." I stated before unwrapping my final gift. I must say, it was a very good gift and we finally mated. It was more than I could have ever imagined. She was insatiable in bed but I definitely gave her a run for her money. It was, to say the least, one of the best birthdays I've ever had.
