I tried writing a chapter recently for this book, set a day after they met in the previous chapter and I just couldn't do it lol I was actually struggling. So rather than doing that, I just decided to upload the chapter I had already written out, set 3 weeks after they first met in the first chapter. It's a bit of a time jump I know but this chapter just came to me one day so I thought why not?
I hope you enjoy it regardless though :)

Corinne's POV
I woke up from a blissful sleep and turned on my side. Callie was next to me, sleeping peacefully still and I couldn't help but smile. She looked so calm and at ease when she was asleep, rather than her usual stoic Queen expression. I gently ran a hand through her hair which made her furrow her eyebrows before slowly opening her eyes. I mentally cursed myself for waking her up but I couldn't help but make sure she was real and actually beside me,
"I apologise, I didn't mean to wake you"
She yawned and cutely rubbed her eyes before smiling at me, "It's fine, I have a meeting later on anyway." She leaned forward and gave me a gentle kiss on the lips, "Good morning Queen Corinne."
I smiled and leant in for another kiss. I've become quite accustomed to her kisses, they were truly something else,
"Good morning Queen Calliria."
"Hmmmm I love the way my name just rolls off of your tongue."
I smirked, "I love the way your tongue just rolls off of mine."
"Oh Corinne, you little seductress."
I laughed lightly, "Care to find out?"
She took a bold move and moved over so that she was straddling me but hovering over me slightly. She moved a strand of hair out of my face gently,
"You're really beautiful and I'm so glad that I found you."
I blushed slightly, "I literally fell at your feet."
She laughed and nodded in agreement, "You certainly did."
She leant down and looked into my eyes, looking for any hesitation on my part. To confirm I was perfectly fine with it, I met her halfway and pressed my lips against hers. I gently bit her bottom lip and she didn't hesitate to open her mouth, allowing me to slip my tongue into her mouth and meet hers.
She gently ran her hand over my stomach making me shudder slightly. Her hands were so warm but it felt so good. I ran a hand through her hair and tightened my grip slightly. I tugged her head away from me making her groan slightly,
"Tell me what you want. Demand me."
She growled slightly. I knew she didn't like to be told what to do but I also knew that when I spoke to her like that, it turned her on,
"Don't play with me Corinne."
"I like to play your majesty."
She gripped the back of my neck and pulled my lips back onto hers. I loved it when she took control. Any type of control she had was sexy to me. She was powerful and confident and I loved it,
"I love you." She murmured against my lips. That made me pull away from her. She then started to panic,
"I- Look, I didn't mean for it to come out like that, I apologise."
She started to move off of me but I pulled her back down towards me, "Don't move. Did you mean what you said?"
She nodded shyly, something I never thought I'd see. Queen Calliria was shy, "Of course I did. I love you, so much and if you don't feel the same, that's fine, I just wanted to say it."
I smiled and shook my head before giving her a peck on the lips, "I love you too."
She smiled widely, "Do you?"
I nodded, "Of course. You're the one. You're perfect and I couldn't help but fall in love with you."
She continued to smile down at me and was just about to lean down to kiss me again but there was a knock at the door which prevented her from doing so. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair before answering to whoever was behind the door,
"Who is it?!"
"Your majesty, King Symmons is in the meeting room awaiting your arrival, he says it's important."
She groaned, "Tell him I shall be down in a few minutes!"
"As you wish your majesty!"
We heard footsteps retreating from the door so Callie gave me a final peck on the lips before moving off of me and standing up from the bed,
"I must get ready before the King has a fit."
I sat up from the bed and ran a hand through my hair to straighten it out, "Will you be going alone?"
"You are welcome to join me but I would not want to bore you."
I smiled, "As a Queen, I must be involved in the kingdoms affairs."
She nodded in agreement, "Spoken like a true Queen."
"I only aim to please you baby."
I could hear her wolf purr. She loved it when I called her that and she especially like it when I addressed her by her title,
"We should get showered and ready."
I stretched before standing up from the bed. Callie had two en-suites, one on the left and one on the right,
"Care to join me in the shower Queen Calliria?"
She narrowed her eyes at me slightly, "Do not say something if you do not plan to follow through with it."
I smirked, "Feisty. Last chance?"
She groaned and shook her head, "No. No, I can't take advantage of you like that. The first time I see you bare will be a special moment, not in the shower."
She was so sweet. She was truly a romantic at heart and I loved her for it,
"I love you for that. Should I meet you out here when I'm done?"
"I shall be waiting for you at the bottom of the stairs my Queen."
*20 minutes later*
I ran a hand over my red dress one last time before walking out of the room. I don't usually wear dresses. I didn't mind wearing them, it's just usually not my first choice but Callie stated that as a royal, you have to be elegant and presentable at all times. I didn't disagree.
I proceeded to descend the stairs and noticed Callie at the bottom before she noticed me. She was wearing the same dress as me but in the colour blue. Blue was the royal colour as well as red, hence why the two thrones are blue and red. She looked as beautiful as ever.
She turned around once she noticed me and smiled, "You look beautiful."
I smiled and took her outstretched hand, "As do you."
"Before we go, I would like to give you something."
I looked at her curiously as she turned around. She was handed something by one of the servants. She then turned around and I gasped slightly at what was in her hand,
"I know you haven't been coronated yet so until then, here is your temporary crown."
"Only temporary?" I asked her confused.
She nodded as she gently placed the crown on my head, "A crown is a symbol of royalty and the kingdom needs to know that. You will receive another crown during your coronation, a better one."
I smiled and nodded before giving her a peck on the lips, "I love you."
She smiled back at me, "I love you too. Ready?"
I nodded so she took my hand in hers and led me towards the meeting hall where King Symmons was waiting.
King Symmons Vichering The Second is the King of the vampire world. I've heard that every now and then, the Kings and Queens of the mythical world come together and discuss all that is going on in their realm. The fact that King Symmons was here right now was fairly unexpected.
We walked into the meeting room and the King along with who I assumed to be his son, bowed to us as we entered,
"Queen Calliria. It is an honour."
She bowed in return, "King Symmons. Prince Hunter."
The King looked at me and raised an eyebrow, "She wears the crown of a royal."
Callie nodded in confirmation, "She is a royal now. This is my mate, Corinne."
"I see. This will make my arrival even harder then."
Callie looked at me briefly before looking at him confused and gesturing for him to take a seat. They followed and took a seat at the table while me and Callie sat opposite them,
"So what is your business here?" Callie questioned.
The King leant forward slightly, "I'm here to make a proposal."
Callie leaned forward, "What kind of proposal?"
He cleared his throat, "Well, I have been notified that vampires and werewolves are getting a bit more, confrontational with each other. Due to this, I would like to propose an arranged marriage between you and my son."
I could feel Callie's anger before she expressed it, "Excuse me?"
"Through arranged marriage, we can join together my world and your world and stop the conflict between our two species."
Callie laughed but we all knew she didn't find it funny, "I tell you that I have found my mate, the new Queen to the wolf world and you still have the audacity to propose an arranged marriage for me? With this immature little boy who doesn't deserve the title of a Prince?!"
Prince Hunter rose from his seat in anger, "How dare you! We are exactly the same age!"
"And look where you are. Stuck behind the King with no power or authority. Do not compare yourself to me. I am a Queen whereas you are merely a Prince!"
"If your parents weren't so weak, you would merely be a Princess!!"
Callie snapped. She jumped up from her chair and pinned the Prince to the wall by his throat,
"Don't you ever talk about my parents again. They fought in battle for our kingdom! For a better future! Don't you dare talk about them like they were weak!! You know nothing!!"
The Prince was on the verge of choking and the King's pleas were clearly not getting through to Callie at all. When she snapped, nothing really got through to her. I decided to call in reinforcements,
"Guards!!" In no more than a second, four guards ran into the room, "Restrain her."
They looked at me wearily, "She is the Queen."
I raised an eyebrow, "And as of now, so am I. Obey your Queen and restrain her!"
They nodded and ran over to Callie, grabbing her by the arms to restrain her. This made her drop the Prince, allowing him to get the much needed air to his lungs,
"Unhand me!!"
They were about to listen to her when I overruled it, "You will keep hold of her until I say otherwise."
"Yes Queen Corinne."
I stood up and walked forwards towards where Callie stood. I looked into her eyes to see that they were now yellow, meaning her wolf was out.
Her wolfs name was Adeline and she literally only comes out when Callie is seriously angry. Literally fuming. Not many people had seen her wolf emerge, me being one of them which didn't bother me. It's been said that her wolf is pure white but I won't believe it until I see it,
"Adeline."
She moved her eyes to look into mine, "Corinne. It would be wise of you to order them to unhand me."
I raised an eyebrow at her, challenging her, "Or what? Will you lay a hand on me to make them?"
She growled, "Never! Calliria would never forgive me and I would never forgive myself."
"Can you give Calliria control please?" She shook her head defiantly and I growled lowly, "Give her back control or I swear to the Goddess, you will be sleeping alone for the rest of the month and I know how she feels about that!"
She growled again because she knew I was right and a few seconds later, her eyes changed back to her normal blue and she let out a deep breath and closed her eyes briefly.
I gestured for the guards to let her go, "You are dismissed."
They bowed to us both before exiting the room and I gently grabbed the back of her neck,
"Look at me." She looked into my eyes, "You need to learn to control your anger Callie."
She sighed, "No one mentions my parents in such a manner and gets away with it. They were brave Corinne, no one can tell me otherwise."
"I know baby, I know."
I pulled her in for a hug and she leant her head on my shoulder. Callie didn't cry, I learnt that she's not really one that shows her emotions in front of people so for her to break down like this was a big thing for her.
She pulled away from me and turned to face the King and Prince,
"If you are expecting an apology you can keep expecting. I will never marry your son King Symmons. I have a mate and I love her, nothing and no one will ever change that."
"Our kingdoms will continue to be in conflict if we do not do something about it."
Callie raised her head in defiance, "Then so be it."
The King narrowed his eyes, "You would allow your kingdom to fall rather than to settle our differences?"
"No. I would rather follow my heart than settle with a boy of a Prince."
"This will cause war, no matter how much you try and deny it."
"And when war comes, we will be ready for it. We have been at peace for centuries but if you want to create a war, let it be so."
"You will regret this decision." He promised.
"We'll see. Get you and your kind out of my kingdom. Now."
The King and the Prince walked out of the room and Callie was not far behind them, but turned the other way. I knew to follow her.
She continued walking through the castle until she got the training grounds where everyone stopped what they were doing and bowed to us,
"Queen Calliria, Queen Corinne."
We both nodded and she looked over at Drayton, "Drayton. Fight me."
He looked at her confused, "I'm sorry your majesty? You know I cannot."
"Disobey me and face the consequences. When I give you an order, you follow it, am I understood?!"
He bowed, "Yes your majesty."
"Good." She turned to face one of the warriors and took off her crown before passing it to him. She then took off her dress to reveal that she was wearing a sports bra and shorts, thank the Goddess. She handed the warrior her dress as well before tying her hair up in a ponytail. I couldn't help but drool over her body a little bit. I've seen it before as she only sleeps in her shorts and a bra but with the sun hitting her like this, she looked so sexy right now.
"Everyone take a seat."
Everyone sat down at her orders but I remained standing. She walked towards the middle of the field with Drayton following behind her. Out of nowhere she turned suddenly and kicked him in the chest, making him fall to the ground,
"Always be on your guard! Have I not taught you better than this?!"
Drayton stood up, "My apologies your majesty."
"Do not apologise. Prove your worth! Prove to me that I made the right choice in making you the head warrior!"
He attempted to catch her off guard by going in for a punch but she was ready for it. She grabbed his wrist and swiped his legs from underneath him. Before he could fall, he grabbed onto her and pulled her down with him. The impact they made made me flinch slightly but I knew they could handle it.
I for one knew for a fact that Callie was holding back. She could've broken his arm in one move but chose not to, I knew her better than that.
They continued to fight for what felt like hours, but was really only around thirty minutes. The fight ended when Callie used all her force to push him backwards, literally making him fly into the tree behind him. He didn't move for a few minutes but we knew he was okay when he groaned and rubbed his head.
I looked over at Callie to see her breathing heavily so I walked over to the warrior who was holding her crown and and gratefully took it from his hands. I then walked over to Callie and gently placed the crown back on her head,
"Are you feeling better now love?"
She nodded, "Much better. Thank you for letting me do that."
I smiled, "Of course."
She ran a hand through her hair before walking over to Drayton. She held her hand out for him to which he gratefully took and she pulled him up from the ground,
"Good fight Drayton. Maybe with a little more training, you will eventually beat me."
He shook his head, "Never your majesty."
He bowed to her and she gave him a single nod before turning back towards the crowd,
"Continue as you were. One more hour and then you can finish for the day, I'm feeling generous."
She took my hand in hers and led me away from the training grounds. Rather than going back into the castle, she led me to the castle gardens where we sat down on a nearby bench,
"I like to come here sometimes to think."
"To let loose?"
She chuckled, "I guess so. Being a Queen is rewarding, seeing a kingdom thrive because of your doing but it's extremely stressful, especially when you have no one there to help you."
"Well, you have me now. Don't feel like you have to handle everything on your own now because you don't."
She smiled and gave me a peck on the lips, "I know. It will take me time to get used to it but I will. Two Queens are better than one."
I nodded in agreement, "That's true, although I must say you've been doing a very good job on your own."
She sighed and put her head in her hands, "I've started a war Corinne. Wolves and vampires have been allies for centuries, except for the fair few who hate each other. By not agreeing to this marriage, not only have I put my own kingdom at war, I've put the vampire kingdom at war also. As well as that, guaranteed he will get allies. He's extremely close to the fairy kingdom so I've heard and a few other kingdoms. This will be bad. For all of us."
I gently rubbed up and down her back to calm her down, "I agree. Unless you are willing to marry the Prince to prevent both kingdoms from going to war."
She abruptly raised her head and shook it, "No. I'd rather die a thousand deaths through war knowing that I followed my heart than merely settle with the Prince. It's cowardly."
"It's honourable in a weird way."
She stood up and looked down at me with a sad but angry expression, "If you wish for me to marry the Prince just say so. It is clear as day to me that our relationship means nothing to you."
I stood up angrily, "How dare you! Our relationship means everything to me and how dare you question otherwise!"
She scoffed, "Oh really? Not two seconds ago you were suggesting I marry the Prince! Well maybe I should!"
I growled at her and roughly but gently gripped her ponytail, preventing her from moving and forcing her to look at me,
"Say that again and look me in the eyes when you say it. I dare you."
She looked me in the eyes briefly before looking away, letting me know she couldn't repeat what she said. I let go of her hair and took a step back away from her,
"When you figure out your emotions and realise that the only person I want to be with is you, come and find me."
I attempted to walk off when she grabbed my wrist, preventing me from doing so, "Corinne-"
I cut her off, "No Calliria." I turned to face her once more, "For once in your life you do not get to demand your way out of things. Just remember, we are mates, your Queen status has no affect on me."
I removed my wrist from her grip and walked away from her. She needed to understand that I only want her and for her to assume that I wanted her to marry the Prince hurt me. I loved her, with every fibre of my being but that cut deep.
Calliria's POV
I watched her walk away from me and my heart broke with every step she continued to take. I didn't mean what I said, I was just angry. I thought she wanted me to marry the Prince but I know that she only said that because she was thinking of what was best for the kingdom. That was not it. Prince Hunter and I were not meant to be. The Goddess chose Corinne to be my mate, to be the Queen of the wolf world by my side and nothing and no one will ever change that.
I needed to prove to her that she was the only one I wanted. She was my Queen and no one else will ever come before her.
I adjusted my crown slightly before walking into the castle. No matter how much my insides were in turmoil, I kept my head up and my back straight. Confidence was key and my kingdom needed to know that even at the worst times, I was still their confident powerful Queen.
I walked into the castle, "William!!" I shouted out.
He came running towards me in no more than five seconds and bowed to me, "Yes your majesty?"
"It seems I have upset Queen Corinne. In order to fix it, I want you to go and fetch her family and best friend."
"Right now?"
I rolled my eyes, "No in a week, of course right now!"
"My apologies your majesty. I shall go and fetch them right away."
"Good. Be quick about it William, the longer you take, the more upset she will be and the more angry I will be. You do not like it when I am angry."
He shook his in agreement, "I will go right now."
I gestured towards the front door and he bowed before running off. He better be quick with this, I couldn't take Corinne being mad at me any longer.
I decided to go to the kitchen to get something to eat. I realised that I didn't eat breakfast so it was now catching up with me.
I walked into the kitchen to see a majority of the chefs and maids hard at work, something I liked to see.
When I walked in everyone turned to face me and bowed, "Queen Calliria."
I sat down at the table and only when I did, did everyone raise their heads. The head chef Marco walked up to me,
"Your majesty, to what do we owe this pleasure?"
"Why else would someone come to a kitchen Marco? Be smart."
"Of course your majesty, it's just that you usually fetch a servant to get your food. It is quite rare you come in here yourself."
I nodded in agreement, "That is true but I am here now am I not?"
He nodded, "Yes. What would you like to eat?"
"Surprise me."
"As you wish your majesty." He said before bowing and giving out orders to the rest of the chefs.
I lay my head on the table and waited for what felt like forever, but was really only about fifteen minutes.
Before I could even get my food, William came running into the kitchen and bowed quickly before speaking,
"Your majesty. Queen Corinne's family and best friend are here."
I sat up and took my hair out of its ponytail before standing up in front of him, "Bring them in."
He nodded and walked out of the room briefly before coming back in with two women and two men.
"You are dismissed William. Thank you."
He bowed and walked out and I looked at the four people standing in front of me. They all bowed,
"Queen Calliria, it is an honour to be in your castle."
I nodded, "It is a pleasure. Please, introduce yourselves."
"I am Carla Matthews, Corinne's mother." She gestured to the man next to her, "This is my husband and Corinne's father, Leonardo Matthews." She then gestured to the two behind her, "Finally this is Corinne's best friend Hollie Worthington and my son, Corinne's brother, Jameson Matthews."
"I'm sure you know me anyway but it is only polite I introduce myself as well. I am Queen Calliria Cecilia Remington, your daughter's mate, making your daughter, Queen Corinne Alexandria Matthews. The reason you are here today is because I have managed to upset Corinne and in order to make her happy, I've brought you here. She misses you dearly."
They all nodded and her father spoke up, "Can we see her?"
"Of course. Follow me, I have a feeling I know where she is. It happens to be her favourite room in the castle." I turned to face Marco, "Marco, continue cooking, you and your staff may have it."
He looked at me in shock, "Are you certain?"
I nodded and smiled briefly, "I am. You deserve it."
He bowed, "Thank you your majesty."
"You are very welcome." I said before walking out of the room with Corinne's family in tow.
I proceeded to walk towards the library. Corinne mentioned how she loved to read and once I showed her the library, she fell in love with it. I knew that if she was upset or bored, that is where she would go.
We walked into the library and like I thought, Corinne was sitting on one of the bean bag chairs reading a book. The book of royals. That book went through all of the royals before me for centuries, including how they fought through wars and how the lineage continues.
I lightly rapped on the door, to which she replied, "Callie, I don't want to speak to you right now."
I sighed, "I know. I have a surprise for you."
She closed the book and turned around to face and gasped when she saw her family behind her. I could see her eyes water and she wasted no time in jumping up from her seat and running to hug her family,
"I missed you guys so much!" She expressed. I wish I could make her that happy.
I bit my lip slightly, something I did when I was upset but tried not to show it, "I shall leave you alone with your family Corinne."
I was about to walk out of the room when I felt a pair of arms go around my waist, stopping me from doing so. The shocks and increase of my heart rate let me know that it was Corinne,
"Stay with me, please?"
I turned around in her arms and looked down at her, "Are you sure? I know you're still mad at me and I wouldn't want to overstep the boundaries."
She smiled and gave me a peck on the lips, "You brought my family here, there's no way I can stay mad at you after that. I love you."
I smiled widely, knowing that I had done the right thing, "I love you too and I'm so sorry for earlier, I didn't mean it."
She gently ran a hand through my hair, "We'll talk about it later okay?"
I nodded and she gave me a final kiss on the lips before she took my hand in hers and turned to face her family again,
"So, what have I missed?"
*Later that day*
Corinne's family as well as her best friend was situated in their rooms for the night. They were to stay in the caste for the weekend.
Me and Corinne were back in our room, we decided it was time to talk about the situation earlier.
She walked over to me and removed the crown from my head, "Are you okay?"
I nodded and removed her crown from her head. I don't know why but she's become accustomed to taking off my crown every night before we went to bed. Now that she has her crown, I did the same thing. We both placed the crowns on opposite sides of the bed,
"I'm fine. I just want to apologise for earlier. I completely took it the wrong way. I know that all you wanted was what was best for the kingdom. I was being foolish."
She sat down on the bed, with her back leant against the bed and her legs crossed and she gestured for me to sit down.
I sat down on the bed next to her, "You do love me right?" She enquired.
"Of course I do. You are my world, my Queen."
"Do you believe that I love you just the same?"
I nodded, "I do. I know you do."
She ran a hand through her hair and closed her eyes for a second, "Then why would you say that I don't want to be in a relationship with you? I know we've only been together for a month but I love you. Is it because I'm not a royal?"
I looked at her shocked and shook my head, "No! Not at all! Your status means nothing to me, I love you regardless of whether you're a royal or not. You weren't born a royal but you are a royal now."
She looked down at her lap, "I just sometimes feel like you are my superior. You never act like that to me but people look down on me because I wasn't born a royal. I'm merely a civilian."
I growled and lifted her head up to face me, "You are a Queen."
"I am a civilian mated to a Queen. That is all I will ever be."
I looked at her sadly, "The Goddess chose you to be my mate. Meaning you were always meant to be a royal. I don't care what anyone thinks of you, you are their Queen and whether they like it or not does not change the fact that you rule over them, you always will. I know I've been named as strict and impatient but I will change that for you to make you want to stay with me."
She smiled and shook her head, "I wouldn't make you do that. To be perfectly honest, I find your authority to be sexy."
I raised an eyebrow at her, "Oh really?"
She nodded and gently pushed me back onto the bed before hovering over me slightly. Her hair fell down in waves next to me and I couldn't help but smile at how beautiful she was. I mentally thanked the Goddess for sending her to me,
"Really. Why are you smiling at me like that?" She said with a hint of laughter in her voice, making me chuckle,
"I just think you're really beautiful and I thank the Goddess for sending you to me."
She blushed and looked to the side but I gently took a hold of her chin and turned her face back to me,
"Don't shy away from me my Queen."
She leant down and gently placed a kiss upon my lips. It was short but sweet, "I love you Queen Calliria."
"And I love you Queen Corinne."
I was about to lean up and give her another kiss when our bedroom door burst open, making Corinne jump away from me and stand up from the bed. I growled and faced the culprit,
"Explain to me and explain to me well why you have interrupted me and my Queen! You know better!!"
They flinched slightly at my anger before bowing, "I sincerely apologise your majesty but this could not wait."
I stood up from the bed to address them properly, "This better be good!"
"Drayton is furious and he demands to see you and Queen Corinne immediately."
I laughed sarcastically, "He demands to see me? The only one demanding anything from anyone in this castle is myself and your second Queen! Am I making myself perfectly clear?!"
He nodded, "Of course your majesty."
"Inform him we shall be down in a moment and that he will not demand anything from me ever again."
"As you wish."
He bowed before running out of the room and I sighed before turning to face Corinne, "I apologise for that. It usually doesn't happen."
"It's fine. I understand that when people need us, we need to be there."
I hummed in agreement before walking over to my side of the bed to retrieve my crown, while Corinne walked over to her side to retrieve hers. We both placed them on top of our heads before meeting each other back in the middle of the room.
I took her hand in mine and we proceeded to walk out of the room. We didn't need to be told where Drayton was because I could hear him growling from the top of the stairs. We followed the noises until we reached the living area where Drayton was currently being restrained by four guards.
As we walked into the room, everyone present bowed to us, everyone but Drayton, "Queen Calliria. Queen Corinne."
I nodded and looked over at Drayton curiously, "You do not bow to your Queens?"
"I will not bow to traitors and liars."
The four guards growled at him. They didn't like it when someone disrespected their royals. I gave the guards a single nod and they grabbed Drayton's head and forced him to lower it, giving him no choice but to bow to us,
"That's much better. Do tell. Why are we traitors and liars? Enlighten me."
He growled, "Sending us to war without our approval?!"
I narrowed my eyes at his disrespect, "I do not need approval from someone that is below me! I make the rules and whatever decision I make is final!"
"You're killing us all!!"
"I am doing what is best for the kingdom!! Have I ever steered this kingdom wrong in the past?!"
"Maybe this will be the thing to do so!!"
I could feels my eyes flickering from yellow to blue. I was furious but I was trying my hardest to control my anger. Corinne didn't like it when I lost my temper but the fact that he was questioning my ability to lead this kingdom made my blood boil.
Corinne could feel my anger so she gently rubbed the back of my hand with her palm before letting go and speaking up,
"It seems like you are questioning the Queens decision Drayton, are you not?"
"She started war without mentioning anything. She is deciding to send all of us to our deaths over nothing and you expect me to be happy?"
She shook her head, "No, what we expect is for you to be loyal. You took an oath to serve your Queen but instead you question her."
He narrowed his eyes at her and started struggling in the guards restraints, "You are merely a mate to the Queen, nothing more and nothing less."
That got me angry but I knew better than to interfere. Corinne was more levelheaded than me so I knew she could handle this,
"Mate to the Queen I may be but I am still your Queen and you will address me as such."
"I will do no such thing." He stated with a smirk on his face. This made Corinne shrug,
"Then you will be tried for treason."
He looked at her shocked, "Treason? I have not betrayed this kingdom!"
"You have disrespected both of your Queens tonight, in my eyes that is betrayal! You think I am kidding with this?" She walked up to him and looked him in his eyes, with him avoiding all eye contact, "Just try me."
He bowed his head, "I apologise your majesty."
She scoffed, "Your apology means nothing to me right now but I am feeling lenient." She took a step back, "I will give you a second chance but step out of line just once, I will strip you of your title faster than you can say please. Have I made myself crystal clear?"
He nodded dejectedly, "Yes Queen Corinne."
"Good." She gestured for the guards to let him go, to which the complied immediately, "You are dismissed Drayton. This better not happen again."
He walked out of the room with his head bowed and I looked over at the guards, "You are also dismissed gentlemen. Very good work tonight."
"Thank you your majesty."
I gave them a nod and they bowed to me and Corinne before walking out of the room.
I walked up behind Corinne and wrapped my arms around her waist, "You were amazing."
"It felt weird, demanding someone like that."
"I for one found it quite sexy. Now I know what you mean." I stated, with my wolf purring.
I could see her smile from the corner of my eye and she giggled slightly when I placed a kiss on her neck,
"Stop that, it tickles."
"But I like kissing you." I said as I placed another kiss on her neck, making her giggle again. Her giggle was really cute,
"Then turn me around and kiss me properly."
I smirked and gently turned her around to face me. She smiled at me and softly removed a strand of hair than had fallen into my face before adjusting my crown for me. She liked to do that.
She lightly tapped her lips with her index finger and I got the hint. I leaned forward and pressed my lips against hers briefly. We had our odd share of make out sessions but the majority of the time we kept our kisses short, I felt like the shorter kisses were more intimate.
I pulled away from her, "Are you ready for bed? I know we woke up quite early today and for that I do apologise."
She nodded, "You forget that I woke you up this morning so I should be the one apologising."
I smiled, "Well, I do love waking up beside you in the morning so I didn't mind you waking me."
She shook her head amused, "Tomorrow I will let you sleep."
"If only I could. The kingdom needs to be run and although I do not doubt your capability to run it alone, I would not allow to have such stress placed upon you so soon. So, tomorrow I will be showing you how I run everything and how all my affairs are kept in order. Sound good?"
"Sounds amazing." She replied excitedly, making me smile,
"Great. Shall we?"
I placed my open hand in front of her and she grabbed ahold of it. We then proceeded to make our way back to our room in order to get a decent nights sleep but I knew with her by my side every night, no matter the hardships I went through in the day, every night would be wonderful.
