Callie's POV
I never thought I would want to rush Corinne's pregnancy but I only said that thinking she would give birth either before or on her due date. Well, I was wrong.
Her due date was exactly four days ago. I personally wasn't worried because sometimes it's normal for a wolf pup to come out later than usual. Corinne however, was panicking at every given moment.
Usually this wouldn't be a problem but Corinne was getting a lot more agitated. She was moody all of the time and she kept complaining about how fat she looked, much to my protests.
I couldn't really feel what she was feeling so I can't even say anything to her but I try my hardest to comfort her as much as I can. It's hard and occasionally it works but then she usually slips back into her mood again. She wasn't a good person to live with when she was like this.
Corey is at Corinne's parents' for the weekend. They have him every other weekend because as much as they love the castle, they said they'd prefer to have him stay at their house as well. Me and Corinne agreed.
Ava and Evelyn are currently on holiday in The Bahamas, courtesy of Corinne and myself. They adamantly refused at first but we weren't taking no for an answer. I explained that I would physically put them on the plane if they didn't go willingly. They laughed but knew I was being serious. In the end, they complied and got on the plane. That made me happy.
Tatum and Sasha have continued to settle into the family and Tatum has finally stopped addressing me and Corinne as your majesty.
Sasha and Corinne have been getting along really well lately and they seem to have a lot in common. Me and Tatum do as well but our friendship is slightly different. We respect each other and I love her like part of the family but we just go about our friendship differently to Corinne and Sasha. I think because me and Tatum are so alike, we like to tease each other slightly. Before, I would get angry at being teased but I've actually been taking a class to manage my anger and I'm able to control it a lot better now. I have Corinne to thank for that actually.
One thing we have managed to do was set up the twins' room. We thought about giving them separate rooms at first but then thought otherwise. They were twins and we didn't want to keep them separated. Me and Corinne decided on a jungle themed room so it's fairly natural and all babies love animals, especially cutely drawn animals,
"Calliria!!"
I winced at the sound of my name being called. It was Corinne and by the sound of things, she wasn't happy,
"Busted." Tatum spoke under her breath. I narrowed my eyes in her direction,
"Shut up. I haven't even done anything."
She chuckled, "That's what you think. Hurry along puppy."
I stood up from my chair and slapped Tatum around the head on my way out of the room, "Witch."
She laughed and I quickly made my way up the stairs to where Corinne was. I knew she was in the bedroom by following her scent.
Once I walked into the room, I gulped as I saw her stand by the foot of the bed with her arms crossed. That meant I was in deep shit right now,
"You called honey?" I said sweetly. She narrowed her eyes at me,
"Don't you honey me. When I ask you to do something, do you just choose not to listen? Do my words mean anything to you?"
"Of course they do!" I replied quickly, "I always listen to you."
She raised at eyebrow at me and gestured towards our bed. I mentally cursed myself at what she was hinting at. When we woke up this morning, Corinne got up before me so she told me to make the bed before I left the room. Naturally, I said okay. She was now angry because I actually forgot to make the bed.
She always made the bed in the morning. Every day without fail and she wasn't happy until it was made. She specifically told me to make the bed and the fact that I ignored it, didn't make her happy,
"I am so sorry, it just slipped my mind!"
"Sometimes I feel like you do this to annoy me Callie. You know how annoyed I get when the bed isn't made. I ask you this one time to make it and you can't even do that."
I ducked my head slightly, feeling guilty at her words. She was right though. She doesn't ask me to do a lot of things and I couldn't even do what she asked,
"I know; I really am sorry. If it makes you feel better, I'll make it now, I promise."
She nodded and took a step back, allowing me to move forward and start making the bed. It was only a few seconds in when I heard Corinne let out a cry of pain.
I turned to face her, "Baby? Are you okay?"
She placed her hand on her stomach as she let out another cry of pain, letting me know that she was far from okay.
"I-I think the babies are coming." She stated. My eyes widened and I looked down just as her water broke before looking back up at her,
"But, I haven't made the bed yet."
She looked at me incredulously, "Are you freaking kidding me? I say that I'm in labour and you're worried about the damn bed?! Get me to the doctor Callie!"
I nodded, "Right right, yeah of course, sorry."
I quickly walked up to her and lifted her up into my arms. Using my super speed, I got us to the doctor's office in record time. As soon as I walked in, the doctor stood up and bowed to us as I gently placed Corinne on the bed that was in the room,
"Tatum!!" I shouted out. Tatum had pretty good hearing so she should've been able to hear me.
It was a few seconds later when Tatum came running into the room, "What's wrong?"
"Call Ava and Evelyn and tell them Corinne has gone into labour. Also, call Corinne's parents so that they can bring Corey home. He said he wanted to be here when his brother and sister were born."
She looked at me with wide eyes, "Corinne is in labour?"
"No, I just said that because I wanted to practice for when she is. Of course she's in labour!"
She raised her palms up in defence, "Sorry my bad. I'll just go and make those calls now."
I gestured towards the door and she ran out of the room. At that moment Corinne shouted out in pain and I ran to the side of the bed and took her hand in mine. It was a bad move on my part. As another burst of pain hit her, she tightened her grip on my hand, making me cry out in pain as well,
"Corinne, baby, can you maybe loosen your grip?" I spoke out painfully. She growled up at me,
"How about you get these babies out of me, then we can talk about me loosening my grip! Until then, keep your mouth shut!"
I immediately closed my mouth and nodded. Now wasn't the time to make her angrier than she already was.
Just as I went to open my mouth again to talk she narrowed her eyes at me, "I swear to the Goddess, you better think about what comes out of your mouth next Callie. For your sake."
I cleared my throat, "I just wanted to tell you how much I loved you and that I'll be with you every step of the way. You're not going through this alone."
A single tear ran down her face and just as she was about to reply, she screamed out in pain. I ran a hand through her hair. It was painful for me to see her like this and know that I couldn't do anything about it but she wasn't alone. No matter what I would stay by her side through this. She could tighten her grip on my hand as much as she wanted to but I wasn't leaving her.
*A few hours later*
I think I've lost count on how many times Corinne has cursed me during her labour. She's probably called me every name under the sun but it didn't phase me. I knew she was just in pain and I understood that. I've been called worse,
"Alright, your majesty, you're fully dilated now so it's time for you to push."
Corinne looked up at me and I smiled down at her reassuringly, "You can do this baby."
She let out a deep breath and closed her eyes briefly before looking at the doctor again. The doctor smiled at her,
"Push only when I tell you to push okay?" Corinne nodded, "Okay. Push now."
Corinne complied and shouted out in pain as she started to push. By the grip she had on my hand, I could only imagine how painful this much be for her. She wanted six kids. I think we needed to have a talk about that later on,
"Okay stop, I can see the head."
Corinne stopped pushing and continued to breath heavily. She closed her eyes and I wiped away the tears that fell from them,
"Your majesty, if you can give me a big push, we'll be able to see whether your son or daughter is born first."
Another deep breath was taken by Corinne before she started to push again. It was a few seconds later when we heard the cry of our first child. Corinne let out a sigh of relief and fell back onto the bed. I unconsciously smiled. Our first child is here. After five months of waiting,
"Your majesty, would you like to cut the cord of your son?"
My smile widened at those words and I nodded frantically before taking the scissors from her outstretched hand. I walked over to her and cut exactly where she told me to. She then handed him to two nurses who walked into the room,
"Don't worry, they're just going to get him cleaned up and weigh him. He'll be fine, I promise. We can now focus on the Queen."
I nodded and looked back over at Corinne who still had her eyes closed but she was breathing quite heavily still. I picked up a towel and wiped her forehead. She opened her eyes and smiled weakly at me,
"Is he okay?" She asked. I nodded,
"He's perfectly fine. A healthy little Prince."
She smiled wider before she closed her eyes and shouted out in pain. It seems our little girl wanted to come into the world now as well,
"Okay your majesty, you can push once again."
Corinne nodded and started to push again. Her hand once again tightened around mine but I took the pain silently,
"I am never doing this again!" She shouted once she finished pushing,
"You said you wanted six kids." I reminded her. She growled at me,
"And you will be carrying next time, believe me on that one."
I looked down at her hesitantly. I knew she said I would carry the child next time but I didn't actually think she was serious. I just agreed so that I wouldn't get her angry. I had experienced the spare room that week and I really didn't want to experience it again. I would've agreed with anything she said at that point,
"You were serious?" I asked. She hit me in the arm,
"Of course I was serious! Don't ask stupid questions Callie! Now is not the time!"
I nodded and looked back at the doctor who was looking at me and Corinne amused. It was rare she saw me and Corinne like this so it must be kind of weird for her to see it,
"One more push your majesty, then it will be all over."
Corinne nodded and I gave her a quick peck on the lips for reassurance. She pushed one last time and after a few more seconds, we heard the cry of our daughter. Corinne once again let out a breath of relief and lay back on the bed as I moved forward to cut the cord.
The doctor handed my daughter over to the two nurses again and they went to get her cleaned up while the doctor stayed to clean up Corinne as much as she could.
It was a few minutes later when they came back with them both. My little Prince and Princess. Caleb and Camellia.
The nurse gently placed Camellia in my arms and placed Caleb in Corinne's arms. I lightly kissed Camellia's forehead and she shuffled in my arms slightly before settling once again.
I looked up at Corinne to see her smiling down at Caleb, "I can't believe they're finally here."
I nodded in agreement before looking over at the doctor, "Thank you. Can you do us a favour and call in Tatum, Sasha, Corey and Corinne's parents please?"
"Of course your majesty. Congratulations once again." She said before walking out of the room. I sat down on the bed next to Corinne and gently leant down to give Caleb a kiss on his forehead.
A few seconds later, the door opened and I smiled at everyone who walked in. Corey quickly walked up to the side of the bed and craned his neck to see his brother and sister,
"They tiny mama." He stated. Corinne nodded,
"They are. That's because they were just born baby. They will grow up soon though."
Corey climbed up onto the bed to get a better look. He looked down at them for a while before giving them both a kiss on the cheek,
"I pwomise I look after you. I love you." He whispered to them both. Everyone smiled down at Corey.
He then moved so that he was laying in between me and Corinne. I kissed the top of his head before looking at everyone else in the room.
Corinne looked over at her parents, "Would you like to hold your grandchildren?"
Her mum nodded excitedly while her dad just smiled. They both gently took the twins from our arms and gently rocked them,
"Wow. They're really cute. Are you sure they're yours Callie?" Tatum asked amused,
"Ha ha. They are very much mine thank you very much." I replied. Sasha gently hit Tatum's arm,
"Leave her alone. Congratulations guys."
I smiled at her, "Thank you Sasha, at least you care."
Tatum laughed, "You know I care. I'm just confused as to how you managed to create such cute babies. They must've gotten all of Corinne's genes from the magic." I punched her in the arm which just made her laugh more,
"Alright, I'm sorry!" She said amused. I heard a small whimper from Camellia and I instinctively turned and looked down at her. Her face was scrunched up slightly and she started to get fidgety,
"I think she's hungry." Carla stated. It wasn't long before Caleb started to fidget as well, sensing his sisters distress.
Carla gently handed me back Camellia, "I'll go and get the doctor and leave you guys to it. We are so proud of you. Both of you."
I smiled as she gave me a kiss on the cheek before doing the same to Corinne. Leo gently handed Caleb back to Corinne and gave her a kiss on the cheek as well before doing the same to me.
It was no more than a few minutes later when the doctor came back into the room with two small bottles in her hand. Corinne opted not to breast feed the twins because it would be easier to use formula to feed both of them at the same time and keep a routine going, rather than to feed one and then the other,
"Your majesties." She said with a bow before handing a bottle each to me and Corinne,
"Samantha. How much did they weigh?" I asked curiously. It probably should've been something I asked as soon as they were born but I was so overwhelmed with emotion, it slipped my mind,
"The Prince weighed seven pounds and six ounces. The Princess weighed five pounds and four ounces. Perfectly healthy weights your majesty."
I smiled, "I admire your formality but you don't have to address them as the Prince and Princess. Their names are perfectly fine, trust me."
She smiled and nodded, "Sorry. I'll just leave you to it but if you need anything, just give me a shout."
I nodded and she bowed to us once more before leaving the room. Corey sat up from the bed and looked up at me,
"Mama, I help feed Cami?" He asked sweetly. I looked at Corinne for confirmation and she nodded so I looked back down at Corey,
"Of course baby."
I leant back against the bed and positioned Camellia properly. I handed the small bottle to Corey and he sat up in front of me,
"Be careful okay? She's only small so don't force it, be gentle."
He nodded, "Okay."
He placed the bottle in Camellia's mouth and she immediately started drinking from it. I looked over at Caleb to see he was drinking from his bottle as well,
"This really makes me want children." Sasha stated. I looked over at Tatum to see her eyes had widened by what Sasha just said. It's not that Tatum doesn't want kids; she's just told me that she's not the maternal type. I didn't believe her though because from what I've seen, she's extremely good with kids and I know the more time she spends with Camellia and Caleb, the more she'll warm up to the idea,
"Sasha, are you serious?" Tatum asked, slightly fearful which made me smirk slightly. Sasha nodded,
"You know I want children. Chill, I don't mean right now but definitely in the future."
Tatum visibly let out a sigh of relief, "Thank the Goddess." Sasha narrowed her eyes at Tatum, making Tatum raise her palms in defense, "Not that having children with you is a bad idea! No no, that's definitely not what I was getting at. I'd love to have children with you, j-just not yet, but we will! I swear! I just-"
Sasha placed her hand over Tatum's, cutting her off completely, "Calm down. I'm only messing with you."
Corinne chuckled beside me and I looked down at Camellia to see she had finished her bottle. Corey removed it from her mouth and I positioned her gently on my chest so that I could burp her,
"Aunty Tatum, why you so red?"
I laughed and Tatum narrowed her eyes at me before answering Corey, "It's nothing buddy, I'm just feeling a bit hot."
Corey tilted his head slightly but nodded before looking at Corinne, "Can I go pway mama?"
"Of course. I'll call you when dinner is ready okay?"
He jumped up from the bed, "Okay!" He shouted before running out of the room. I smiled and stood up from the bed so that I could gently place Camellia in her bassinet. She had fallen asleep.
Corinne placed Caleb in his bassinet as well and wheeled it next to Camellia's so that they were sleeping next to each other.
I sat back down next to Corinne and she yawned, laying her head on my shoulder. I ran a hand through her hair,
"We'll leave you two alone guys. We'll go and watch Corey. Congratulations once again."
"Thank you. Seriously. You are part of the family and as much as I don't say it a lot, I love you guys."
They smiled at me, "We love you too Callie. You too Corinne."
Corinne smiled at them and they bowed slightly before leaving the room. I shook my head at them. Even when I say they're family, they still feel the need to bow to us.
I looked down at Corinne to see she was drifting off to sleep but she kept glancing over at the twins. I kissed the top of her head gently,
"Go to sleep baby." I whispered. She shifted so that she was laying her head on my lap and I ran my fingers through her hair soothingly,
"The twins." She whispered back. I smiled down at her,
"The twins will be fine. You just went though hours of labour, you're tired. Don't fight it. If the twins wake up, I'll take care of them, okay?"
She yawned again, "Are you sure?"
"Look at me." I insisted. She turned slightly and opened her eyes to look at me, "Go to sleep. Please." I gave her a gentle kiss on the lips, "Please."
She continued to look up at me for a while before nodding and giving me another kiss, "I love you."
"I love you too." I replied. She smiled tiredly before laying back down on my lap.
As I continued to run my fingers through her hair, I used my other hand to gently run my hand over the twins' heads. They shifted slightly before settling down again. I couldn't help but smile to myself.
After everything that had happened, it seems like everything is finally falling into place. My life was back on track and happy was an understatement as to how I was feeling right now. Everything was perfect.
