I giggle as Dec picks me up and swings me in a circle. “Baby, I’ve missed you.” He puts me down and crashes his lips into mine.

I jump up and wrap my legs around his waist. “I’ve missed you too.” I kiss his soft lips that I haven’t tasted in months.

This semester was difficult and that had kept me on campus. Being away from my pack was so hard, but college was even harder.

Dec carries me to the passenger side of the truck. “Nope. Not yet.” I kiss him some more.

“Baby, let’s get you home. Your family has a party planned. Damon, Bianca, and Finn are all going to be there.”

I gasp in mock surprise. “Oh my Goddess. You remember their names?”

Dec laughs. “I’ve been really good. I even know all your family’s names.”

I raise my brow. “Uh-huh. Sure you do.”

He lets out a breath of exasperation. “Kyle, Chelsea, Kendra, Mark, Ian, Gretchen, and…shit, Alan, Aaron? No, it’s Aiden.”

My mouth drops open. “It only took you five months.” Dec shrugs as he pulls onto the highway.

I’m excited to see my friends. It’s been a while since Damon took over the Ramirez—formerly Roberts—pack. They’re doing so much better as a pack. People are actually treated with respect.

Damon has had a lot to do and hasn’t been at our pack since. Bianca is mated and already expecting.

“So, what’s going on with the rogues?” I ask. Dec has mentioned issues here and there, but I’m still not clear about the situation.

He lets out a tired sigh. “Well, the pups that I picked up were all living in a kind of camp. It was only females and their pups. As you know, rogues are never in packs, which is why they tend to go feral.

“But what Chase and I walked into was like nothing I’ve ever seen or heard of. This was kind of a makeshift pack. I’ve contacted the other alphas to see if they had any information, but they were all just as clueless as I was.”

“Have you spoken to the pups? And where the hell are all of the males?”

Dec awkwardly shrugs his shoulder. “The only thing I could find out is that the males are dying off. The pups say the rogues are waiting for their alpha to show up.”

I scrunch my brows. “What does that mean? They could seek refuge in any of the neighboring packs and have an alpha.”

“It’s a mystery to me. I have Virgil checking in on them from time to time, just to make sure they’re at least safe and not starving. Virgil is such a good kid. He’s practically the leader of their little group. He’s made quite a stir at school.”

“How so?”

“He made it so the packs aren’t divided. The teens all mesh, and the little pups can play with each other, regardless of which pack they come from.”

“That’s really cool.”

He nods as we pull into the pack territory, and my body physically relaxes. I’m home. I’ve missed this place. It’s really hard being a wolf away from your pack.

At least I had Dec the whole time. He was with me every minute of every day. Thank the Goddess, or I would’ve gone crazy.

Dec grabs my bags and carries them inside our house. He doesn’t hold back for a second. He drops my bags and pulls my shirt up and over my head. We make it to the couch before he’s buried deep inside of me.

He’s rough as he thrusts deep inside. I claw his shoulders as my core squeezes his rod. “Goddess, baby. I’ve been waiting months for this.”

I push him over so I’m on top of him. “Me too. Ah.”

He grips my ass as I ride him. He licks my mark, and my muscles constrict, sending me into an orgasm. He doesn’t let up. He continues to thrust inside of me.

“Oh, Goddess. Dec, I’m going to go off again.” He bites down on my mark, and I’m gone. My muscles clench so tight, Dec can barely move. I bite his mark, sending him toppling over, too.

We’re a sweaty mess. He picks me up and carries me to the shower where he takes me again.

Alana is the first to greet me as I walk into my parents’ house. My week-old niece, Lacy, is bundled up in her arms. I take her in mine. Chase gives me a hug, being careful not to crush the pup. “Hey, munchkin.”

I hug him back. “Hey, Chase. Where is everyone?”

He tilts his head. “They’re all outside. There’s not enough room in here.”

Dad and Natalie greet us when we make it to the back of the house. “Hey, Cricket.” He gives me a kiss on my forehead as I wrap my arms around him. “Hi Daddy.”

Natalie is almost seventeen and has become like a sister, with all of the training she’s been doing with dad. She’s already learned so much and helps with healing at the hospital.

Uncle Mark, Aunt Kendra, Ian, and Gretchen all greet me with warm hugs and happy faces. Their transition into our pack has been pretty smooth, and construction has already begun on the western border.

Bianca is sitting in a chair with Finn rubbing her lower back. “B,” I call out. She gives me her smile as she gets to her feet. She’s not even showing yet.

“Hey. It’s about time you got here. Finn says you guys probably stopped for a quickie. I told him it was probably more than one.” They both laugh as my face turns scarlet.

I roll my eyes and change the subject. “Where’s Damon?”

“I got a text from him about ten minutes ago saying he was just leaving our territory.”

Mom calls everyone to eat. Seeing all of my family and friends makes this a great welcome-home party.

The sun has faded, and the full moon shines on our gathering. Damon strolls into the yard, and I almost don’t recognize him. He’s gotten big in the six months since I’ve seen him, and he’s grown a pretty attractive beard.

I stand up to welcome him. He gives me a quick one-armed hug, not wanting to piss off Dec. “Ky. Welcome back.”

“Thanks. It’s good to have you back here. How are things going? Why are you so huge?”

He laughs. “It’s good to be back. My pack gives me strength, and I’ve been working out to become strong enough to protect them.”

“I’m sorry for not dropping by sooner; we’ve been having problems in our pack. I still have a few that aren’t quite on board yet, but I’m not going to force them. That’s something Roberts would’ve done.”

“I’ve had to banish three guards already, but Finn and I have implemented better, more vigorous training, and our guards are pretty strong. I actually came here to ask you for help, Dec.”

Dec gets serious and listens as Damon tells him: “I think Owen is back.”
