COLE

Lexi’s eyes are so bright. “What do you have to do?” I ask, beginning to kiss and nip down her gorgeous body.

She bites her lip and I growl.

She closes her eyes. “Oh, Goddess,” she faintly whispers, but I hear her perfectly clear.

“Do you want to be with me, Lexi? As my mate?” I ask.

I need to be one hundred percent sure that this is what she wants.

She nods, her lip back between her teeth. “Yes, Cole. You’re my mate. I want to be with you.”

I kiss between her breasts then reach up to paw them. “After tonight, there’s no going back. You’re sure?”

Alexis grabs hold of my face. “Colton James. You’re mine. I will never share you with anyone again. Is that clear enough for you?”

I can’t help but smile at my gorgeous mate. “Crystal clear.”

I kiss her hard, pressing her into the bed. She kisses me back with just as much ferocity, nibbling at my lips.

I reach down to trace her slit with just my finger. She whimpers. Then I kiss my way down her smooth body.

Her fingers comb through my hair, then grip as I reach her flower.

I run my nose up her slit, inhaling her sweet magnolia fragrance. I start with a few delicate kisses.

My kisses become more aggressive the more excited she becomes. Her petals open for me and I’m able to taste her sweet nectar.

She whimpers and I focus on pleasuring her with my mouth then slowly insert a finger. “Oh, Goddess. Cole.”

I smile to myself then insert a second finger. It’s a tight fit, but her body quickly welcomes the intruders.

She whimpers and bucks her hips. I hold on to her with my free hand. “Yes, Cole. Right there. Don’t stop. Don’t stop!”

I increase my pressure, making sure to hit the spot she requested. “Oh, Goddess!” she cries out.

I’m turned on by the fact that she’s so vocal. I wait for her to calm down then begin stroking her insides again.

I’m purposely trying to stretch her in preparation for when I take her, which in all honesty, I’m incredibly nervous to do.

Her body is already glistening with perspiration and her scent permeates the room. It’s like I’m in heaven.

Lexi cries out her release. Then I kiss back up her body while she calms down.

“Are you all right, love?”

Lexi is breathing deeply, so she nods and traces her hands up my chest then around to my shoulders. “Cole. I don’t have the words. I’m far better than all right.”

She tilts her mouth up to kiss me.

I grip her body tightly and kiss her deeply. I hold her head, pressing her mouth harder to mine.

She rubs her pelvis against my erection.

I let go of her head then reach down for a few quick strokes before lining myself up against her opening.

She nibbles my lip and I press inside of her. She tosses her head back with a satisfying groan.

I’ve never felt anything as incredible in my life. Her cavern is slick and warm, yet oh so comforting.

My mouth falls to her neck and I salivate to mark her. I blow out a breath against her moistened skin then press in more.

The sensation causes my eyes to close. She slightly hisses then exhales against my ear.

I press in more, as far as I can go in this position. Her body holds me perfectly.

I savor the feel of her depths for a moment before pulling back slowly then pressing back in. “Oh, Goddess. Lexi. I’ve never felt anything so incredible.”

Her nails dig in my back, pulling me closer. “Me neither, Cole,” she whispers, then begins kissing my shoulders and neck.

She curls her legs around mine then rests her head against my chest as we continue our sensual union.

My forearms are under her, holding her body against me; her beautiful shimmering body.

Her hips match my movements. Her breath collides against my sudoric chest.

I rest my forehead to hers, continuing our shared first sexual experience.

She cries out and I feel a pulsing deep inside of her before her inner walls grip my member.

I pause until her contraction releases, then adjust our position. I lean more on my knees, sitting up so I can touch her glistening skin.

Her breasts swell and I massage her beautiful mounds. Her nipples shrink and harden under my thumb.

She sniffs along my neck and I look up to see her eyes flash.

I’m too engrossed in the feel of her body to look for her wolf, but I have no doubt that she’s awake, or at least stirring inside of her.

I pray to the Goddess that I’m right and this is how I can wake her wolf.

A growl escapes her throat. I pull off of her nipple to ready myself for the next step.

I hold her face to my neck while the pressure continues to build inside of me. I’m so close.

I kiss her neck then lick the spot in preparation for my mark. “Cole. I’m so close.”

“Lexi. Whatever you’re feeling, don’t fight it. Let your instincts take control,” he says.

She nods and I kiss her neck again. Her teeth graze the junction of my neck and shoulder.

“Yes, Lexi. That’s right. Don’t fight it.”

Her body begins to shake and it’s now or never. I kiss her spot then sink my teeth into her flesh, marking her as mine.

Her life force spills into me. I can feel everything. Her desires, her fears, her complete and utter love for me.

She cries out then crushes her teeth into my neck. Our bodies shudder as we climax together.

I catch my breath then pull my teeth from her neck to lick the mark, sealing my essence into her.

She copies my movement. I gently kiss her mark then pull back to look her over.

Her eyes are hooded with exhaustion, but she smiles up at me.

I hold her soft cheek and look for her wolf. She’s thumping her tail in satisfaction.

She stretches inside of Lexi, then throws her head back into a melodious howl.

Lexi gasps, her eyes moving back and forth between mine. “I feel her. I feel my wolf.”

I smile with a nod. “She’s awake. You should start shifting soon.”

Lexi’s eyes soften. “I’m scared, Cole.”

I press my lips to her forehead. “I’m here, my love. I won’t leave you. Not for a moment.”

~Can you hear me?~

Lexi’s lips begin to tremble. ~Yes.~

I pepper her face with kisses then hold her tightly to me.

I sniff her neck then kiss her mark.

She shudders under my touch and her inner walls clamp down around my softened member, sending her into yet another climax.

I pull out of her then gently lay her down against her sheets.

I stroke her face as I watch her wolf shake out her fur.

The wolf’s eyes connect to mine and the single word “mate” is thrown into my mind.

My wolf answers her in the affirmative.

Lexi’s wolf yips happily then her power begins to surge inside of her.

I pull my sight back to Lexi’s shaking body.

Her eyes are filled with fear. “What’s happening to me?”

“You’re shifting. I’m here, my magnolia. You can do this.”

I try to comfort her, but I’m concerned for the pain she’s about to endure.

Her body begins to convulse. “Cole!”

She whimpers in fright. “I’m here, love. I’m here.”

I press my body to hers.

My thumb caresses her mate mark in the hope of distracting and comforting her.

She whimpers her discomfort. “Lexi, listen to my voice. Let the change happen, don’t fight it. I’m here.”

Her shaking becomes more erratic.

I scoop her off of the bed and get her outside to the woods where the moon can shine down on her.

I lay her gently onto the grass and moss-covered forest floor then step back, but hold her hand in mine.

Her eyes are tightly closed and her jaw is clamped down, yet her sounds of pain continue to wail.

I look to the heavens. “Moon Goddess. Please help her. I know you said it would be painful for her, but please don’t make her suffer.”

I look back to my mate and try to smooth the hair from her face. “Come on, baby. You can do this. Let the change happen. Don’t fight it. I know it hurts.”

A tear seeps from my eye.

This is taking much longer than any shift I’ve seen.

I remember the pain of my first shift and I know she’s in anguish.

Two wolves flank me.

They lay their heads on their paws and wait.

“Mom, Dad. Can you do anything to help her?”

My mom’s wolf trots to the opposite side of Lexi and lays next to her, lending her strength.

I feel Dad’s alpha power as he encourages the change to happen.

I join in with my strength.

Lexi screams, the sound like a siren cutting through the night.

Light shines from behind us, but I can’t look to Dara. Lexi needs me.

A gentle copper-colored hand is placed on my shoulder. “Stand down, Alpha King and Prince.”

I look up to the new being in a flowing white gown.

I don’t recognize her, but her power is that of a Starlight Sister.

“Goddess, can you help her?” I humbly ask.

Her full lips spread into a comforting smile. “I am here to assist this child.”

The Goddess steps forward with her white light already in her palms.

She kneels above Lexi’s head then holds her palms to her temples. “Shift, child. We have been waiting for you.”

Lexi’s bones begin to crack and reform, hair begins to expel from her pores, and her face elongates.

“That’s it, my love. Let her out,” I encourage, letting her know I’m still here with her.

Mom is still beside her in her wolf form.

Dad is pressed against me, giving me comfort and strength.

More bones break and reform as her legs change and her tail emerges.

A few more cracking bones and physical changes and the shaking stops.

Lexi’s wolf lays peacefully before us asleep on the forest floor.

The Starlight Sister stands and I actually take the time to look at her.

Her skin is copper with flowing dark hair.

At first glance, it looks black, but after a second, deeper look, I can see that it’s dark brown.

Her eyes are silver with a dark ring around the iris under perfectly sculpted dark brows.

Her full lips spread into a soft smile.

“Your mate is resting. She is no longer in pain,” the Goddess says with a slight accent.

“Thank you, Goddess.” I bow to her.

“I am called Ina. I have replaced my sister Dara to finish the work of my mother. I will be visiting the other countries as they require my Goddess’s blessings. Alpha King. Oracle.”

She nods to my parents.

“I ask for your assistance in my journey.”

She looks back to me.

“Destroyer Prince. You have much work to do. The corrupted are not only found in cells of your friends and family, but all over the world. The moon Goddess asks that you focus your attention on your work now that your mate has awakened. You will know where you are required to go. Your mate may accompany you as you will be distracted without her presence.”

“Yes, of course, Goddess Ina. I thank you for all of your help with my mate and for your counsel. May I ask what has happened to Dara?”

“My sister has chosen to relinquish her immortality. She will return once her transition is complete.”

She turns to face my mother.

“Yes, Oracle. My mother has found a wolf for her.”

Ina offers more healing energy to Lexi.

She nods to us individually then walks into the woods where her light momentarily shines then dissipates.

I kneel beside Lexi’s head and stroke her soft black and gray fur.

~Lexi? Love, can you hear me?~

Lexi’s wolf slowly opens her eyes.

She looks around then settles on my eyes.

She rolls to her belly then licks my face. ~Mate~.

I smile and stroke her ears. ~Lexi. Can you talk to me?~

Her wolf yips. ~Try again, love. Feel me out and connect with me.~

~C-C-Cole?~

~Yes. It’s me. I’m here.~

~Cole. I’m so tired. My body was in so much pain I don’t think I can move.~

My mom presses against her.

My dad nudges her snout.

“It’s okay. You can sleep now. Once you’re ready, you can shift back. It won’t hurt anymore. I’m going to shift and stay with you. My parents will stay here too. They’re giving you their strength. You’ll be all right, my love,” I assure her.

I kiss her between her beautiful silvery-blue eyes, then step back to shift.

I rub my body against hers, letting my scent invade her pelt, then lay beside her.

She rests her head on my paws and I lick her face.

“Sleep, my love. We’ll keep you safe.”

Dad lays beside us, forming a kind of puppy pile.

Lexi closes her eyes and sleeps in the comfort of our care.
