Chapter 33: Accidentally In Love

Book I - Accidentally in Love (FayeYoko)Words: 22171

"What do you mean you can't come?" Yoko heard Faye ask, confusion lacing her voice as she held the phone to her ear. They were seated in the living room, prolonging the moment when Faye would have to leave for the night. Tomorrow was their wedding day, and Faye's mom insisted they follow tradition by not seeing each other until the ceremony.

"You were supposed to be here two days ago," Faye added, a hint of frustration slipping through. Yoko's interest piqued at this as she watched Faye exhale deeply.

"What could possibly be more important than my wedding, Namtan?" Faye said softly, her tone tinged with disappointment.

She let out another sigh and added, half-joking but still carrying sadness, "You better have a really good explanation, because I'm this close to disowning you."

"Okay, fine. Bye," Faye said finally before ending the call.

"What happened?" Yoko asked gently.

Faye dropped the phone onto the table with a frown. "Namtan said there's some kind of emergency in New York, so she can't come. When I asked her what it was, she wouldn't tell me."

Yoko reached for Faye's hand, squeezing it reassuringly. "Maybe it really is important. I don't believe for a second that Namtan would miss such an important moment in our lives without a good reason."

Faye inhaled deeply, nodding but still looking troubled. "Yeah, I know... I just can't help but be curious. She was so excited about this wedding."

Yoko smiled softly, her thumb gently brushing over Faye's knuckles. "I'm sure we'll understand soon enough."

Faye sighed and nodded, her gaze lingering on where Yoko's hand held hers. A smirk tugged at her lips. "I have the most beautiful engagement ring, don't you think?"

Yoko laughed, a fond smile spreading across her face as memories flooded back. This was the days after they arrived at the hotel.

Her mom pulled her aside and gently told her that Faye deserved an engagement ring too. Yoko agreed, of course, but confided, "I've been racking my brain trying to find the perfect one, Mom. Every time I look at the options P'Freen, Orm, and Charlotte suggested, they just don't feel like they're enough for her. I want Faye to feel that she's as important to me as I am to her."

Yoko continued, "I even found a ring I thought would suit her, but it cost $50 million. Even if I worked my entire life, I don't think I'd ever be able to afford something like that."

Her mom, however, had a different perspective. "Yoko, a ring isn't judged by how much it costs," she said gently. "It's about the meaning it carries when you give it to the person you love."

Yoko's eyes widened as her mom pulled out a ring from her pocket. As she looked at it closely, a sense of familiarity washed over her. Her breath caught as she finally recognized it. "It's the family heirloom," she gasped. "This was my great-grandmother's, wasn't it?"

Her mom smiled warmly. "Yes, it's been in the family for almost a hundred years. It's a classic diamond, passed down through generations."

Yoko, still in shock, stammered, "But Nana and I always thought it would be given to Bambam someday..."

Her mom chuckled softly and asked, "Why? Because he's the man in the family?"

Yoko nodded, still staring at the ring, and her mom's smile grew. "I already talked to Bambam and told him I wanted to give it to you. Do you know what he said?"

Yoko looked at her mom, curious. "What?"

"He said it would tear him apart if we didn't give it to Faye. He wants her to feel, without a shadow of a doubt, that she will always be a beloved part of this family, that we all love and adore her."

Yoko's tears started to fall, overwhelmed by the depth of love and thoughtfulness from her family.

Her mom reached out, gently wiping away the tears, and placed the ring in Yoko's hands. "This is for you to give to Faye," she said softly. "It's more than just a ring—it's a piece of our family's heart."

That evening, after Faye returned from judging the Miss Grand International competition, she stepped into an atmosphere that took her breath away. The room was bathed in a soft, golden glow, the only light coming from the flickering candles that cast dancing shadows on the walls. A trail of roses—each petal carefully placed—led from the door all the way to the kitchen, filling the air with a sweet, intoxicating fragrance. The table was set with a feast, each dish more tempting than the last, but the real sight that captured Faye's attention was Yoko, standing at the heart of it all, smiling at her with eyes full of love.

Faye blinked, momentarily speechless, as she took in the romantic scene before her. Her voice caught in her throat as she raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "What's all this?" she asked, her eyes darting around in surprise, unsure if this was some kind of dream.

Without a word, Yoko dropped to one knee, the glow of the candles catching the sparkle of the ring in her hand. She met Faye's gaze, her heart racing but her smile full of warmth and affection. "I know we've already agreed to marry," she said, her voice full of playful sincerity, "but please humor me. If I ask again—this time with a ring—will you marry me?"

The question lingered in the air, like a soft, unspoken promise, a reminder of the bond between them—stronger than ever. Faye's heart swelled with emotion, and a soft laugh bubbled up from her chest. She gazed down at Yoko, her love for her overwhelming, as tears glistened in her eyes.

"Yes," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "Yes, I will marry you."

Yoko exhaled, as if she'd briefly feared Faye might say no. She laughed, her joy lighting up her entire face as she took Faye's hands, slipping the ring onto her finger. Holding it gently, she kissed it with a smile, teasing, "What? You didn't think I'd give you a ring?" Her laughter echoed, full of love and warmth.

Faye chuckled, pulling Yoko close, her heart racing. She kissed her deeply, a kiss that spoke volumes. "You're truly amazing," she murmured, as the world around them seemed to fade, leaving only the two of them in that perfect, unforgettable moment.

---

The day had arrived—the moment they had both dreamed of, and yet, it felt as if the world was holding its breath. The wedding was everything they had imagined and more. A stunning venue, a sea of blooming flowers, and the overwhelming sense of love that radiated between everyone present.

As the sun began its descent, casting a soft golden glow over the scene, Yoko stood in the quiet of the bridal suite. The day had been filled with joy, but there was also a quiet tension hanging in the air. Yoko knew that after the wedding, Luke would undergo surgery—a delicate procedure that held so much promise.

Just a few weeks ago, after months of study on Luke's condition, Faye's mother had delivered the good news. They had finally discovered the cause of Luke's inability to speak. It was a nerve in his brain, one that was operable. Yoko's heart had soared with relief as she listened to Faye's mother explaining that there was a chance, a real chance, that Luke could speak again.

Yoko's mother had cried when she heard the news, overwhelmed with emotion. She had been so supportive of Luke through everything, and the thought that he might finally regain his voice made her heart swell with joy.

Faye's mother had promised them that every specialist and the best neurosurgeon would handle the surgery, and though it was still a delicate procedure, the chances were high. It was as if the stars were aligning for her family in more ways than one.

And now, here she was, moments away from marrying the love of her life, knowing that there was hope for Luke's future. Her heart swelled with emotion, a mix of joy for her wedding day and the hope for Luke's recovery that would come afterward.

The door to the suite opened softly, and Yoko's father stepped inside, his eyes filled with pride as he gazed at his daughter. Her mother stood beside him, beaming with joy, her eyes misty with emotion.

"Are you ready, sweetheart?" her father asked gently, his voice full of love and reassurance as he offered his arm.

Yoko nodded, her throat tight with emotion. "Yes, Dad. I'm ready."

With a smile, her father held out his arm, but before they began their walk to the grand entrance of the venue, he exhaled deeply and said, "I may not have imagined this day unfolding quite the way I expected," he began, his eyes softening as he glanced toward the altar where Faye was waiting. "But I want you to know how much joy it brings me to see you so happy." He paused, collecting his thoughts before continuing. "Faye may not be a man, but in every way that truly matters, she possesses qualities far beyond what any man could offer. She is kind—without a doubt, the kindest person I've ever known—and has the heart of someone who would protect you no matter what. I've seen how she has cared for you, supported you, and loved you with a devotion I can only admire."

Yoko's father placed a hand on her shoulder, his voice full of emotion. "As your father, there is nothing more I could ask for than to see you with someone who will love you as much as Faye does. I'm proud of you, proud of both of you. This is the love you deserve."

Yoko, overwhelmed with gratitude, nodded, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "Thank you, Dad. I love you."

Her father smiled, his heart swelling with pride. "I love you too, sweetheart. And I couldn't be happier for you both."

Her mom had also shared an almost similar heartfelt moment with Yoko earlier, speaking with such warmth and emotion as she described how stunningly beautiful Faye looked as she walked down the aisle with her parents. She had been so taken by Faye's grace and poise that it left Yoko breathless. But what she said next nearly brought Yoko to tears: "I'm so glad you're marrying her."

Her mother's voice trembled slightly, filled with a love and pride Yoko had never seen before. "Faye is everything I could have hoped for in someone who would love my daughter. She's kind, thoughtful, and I can see when she looks at you, I see how much she cares for you, how she makes you shine brighter, and I know you're in the safest of hands with her. You two are exactly what each other needs, and as your mother, there is nothing more I could wish for than to see you both so happy together."

Yoko's eyes welled with tears as she hugged her mom tightly, overwhelmed with gratitude. For a moment, everything else faded away—her mother's acceptance, her love for Faye, and the unspoken bond between them all felt like the perfect foundation for the future they were about to build together.

As she began her walk down the aisle, the soft music filled the air, and Yoko couldn't help but agree with what her mom had said—Faye was absolutely breathtaking. She looked stunning in her bridal gown, her smile radiating love and joy. Yoko's breath caught in her throat as the realization settled in: this was real. This was happening.

Her father's steady hand on her arm kept her grounded as they slowly moved forward. As they reached the halfway point, Yoko's gaze flickered to her mother, who stood with Luke, a soft smile on her face. Luke, her little brother, who had been through so much, now had a chance to speak his first words.

The promise that everything would be okay after this wedding was almost too much for Yoko to bear, and her heart filled with so many emotions—gratefulness, love, and a sense of fulfillment she could barely contain. She was marrying the love of her life, and her family's future was looking brighter than ever.

When Yoko reached the altar, her eyes were already brimming with tears. She saw Faye, nearly on the verge of tears herself. Yoko stepped forward, embraced her father, and then reached for Faye's hands.

"You look incredible," Faye whispered, her voice shaky with emotion. Yoko's heart soared at the sight of her fiancée, the love between them radiating so strongly it was almost tangible.

Yoko smiled, brushing a tear from Faye's cheek. "You look perfect," she whispered back, her voice full of wonder. She couldn't believe this moment was finally here. She had waited for this her whole life.

As the officiant began the ceremony, Faye stood there, her hand in Yoko's, and her heart full. The vows came next. Faye was first to speak, her words strong and steady despite the emotion filling the air.

"Babe," Faye began softly, her voice filled with affection. "If someone had told me that my greatest love story would begin on a TikTok Live, I would have laughed and called them crazy—because I didn't even have a TikTok account."

The audience laughed, and so did Faye, the moment breaking the nervousness.

"But here we are. Our love story is anything but ordinary—though I shouldn't be surprised, because nothing about you is ordinary. You are extra in every way." She paused, grinning as the crowd chuckled. "And I don't mean that in a bad way!"

The laughter swelled again before Faye's tone softened. "I mean you are extra pretty, extra gorgeous, extra humble, extra thoughtful, extra kind... and you are, without a doubt, the most extraordinary human being I have ever known. You are extra everything good in this world, and somehow, you chose to love the ordinary person in me."

Her voice trembled slightly as she continued. "Who would've thought that a random moment online—something so simple, so unexpected—would lead us here, to the most important day of my life? While I was busy designing clothes, God was busy designing the universe to make sure we would meet. He gave me you, Yoko. And for that alone, I know I was made to love you—forever."

Faye's gaze locked on Yoko, her words quieter now but brimming with emotion. "You know, I was content in Africa. I thought I had everything I needed. I saw my future there with the kids—raising them, teaching them, learning alongside them. I never realized I could want more. But then God gave me a little nudge—He pinched me, really—and said, 'Hey, you're doing great, but imagine this: someone who will walk that path with you, who will inspire you in ways you never knew you needed.'

Faye's voice trembled as she fought back tears. "You are my extraordinary miracle. You are living proof that love doesn't need to follow a certain path or begin in a certain place. Our journey was unconventional—some might even call it bizarre—but it led me here, to the most incredible ending I could have ever dreamed of.

She took a deep, trembling breath, her heart swelling with emotion as tears shimmered in her eyes, reflecting the depth of her feelings. "Yoko, I promise to honor the uniqueness of our journey and I will treasure every single second of this beautiful, infinite love that has brought us together. I vow to love you with every fiber of my being, to give you all that I am and all that I will ever be. I may have been blessed with many things, things that money can buy, but you... you are my most precious treasure, my most expensive gift. You are the one thing that no amount of wealth could ever compare to, and I will hold you in my heart for all eternity.

Yoko smiled through her tears, and in that moment, there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

When it was Yoko's turn, she found it hard to breathe as tears still welled up in her eyes. Seeing this, Faye gently encouraged her, whispering, "Inhale... exhale." Yoko nodded, taking a deep breath, and when she finally felt steady enough to speak, she began to read her vow.

"If love were predictable, we wouldn't be standing here today. Because nothing about us—this—was ever expected. We come from different worlds, shaped by different cultures, carrying dreams that seemed so far apart. And yet, the universe, in its infinite wisdom and humor, decided that two souls would collide—not on some grand stage, but through a screen. That a TikTok Live, of all places, would spark a love so real, so undeniable, that no distance, no doubts, and no expectations could ever contain it."

The audience chuckled softly at the mention of TikTok, a warm murmur spreading through the room.

"Faye, you are the most unexpected, yet the most certain thing that has ever happened to me. I look at you now, standing here in your breathtaking beauty, and I see everything that brought us to this moment. I see the late-night conversations that bridged time zones, the laughter that softened the weight of the world, and the love we built, brick by brick, in a world that didn't always understand us."

Yoko paused, her voice catching just slightly. A hush fell over the crowd, as all eyes focused on her.

"They say love moves mountains, but with you, love didn't just move mountains—it shattered walls." She smiled gently as a few people nodded, clearly moved. "Walls of fear, of uncertainty, of what love is 'supposed' to look like. And when those walls fell, you were there. Waiting. You, Faye, became my home."

At the word home, a quiet sniffle could be heard from the front row. Yoko's voice softened, her gaze locked on Faye.

"You've taught me that love doesn't have to be complicated, that it doesn't follow rules or seek approval from anyone else. Love simply exists. And ours is—bold, limitless, and genuine."

A few tears were already being wiped away by now, but Yoko's voice grew stronger, steadier.

"Today, I vow to honor a love that defied every obstacle, a love that blossomed against all odds. I will treasure the story we share, one that began in the most unexpected way and became the greatest reality of my life. I will stand beside you through every storm and twirl with you in every moment of joy. I will love you with a passion that knows no bounds, endlessly and completely. We may be accidentally in love, but you are my greatest serendipity, my truest reality, and my forever. Our love story is one I will share with the world as we grow old, with every heartbeat, one chapter at a time.

The crowd, unable to hold back, erupted in soft applause and sniffles. A chorus of quiet tears, a few laughs through sobs, and tender smiles filled the room. It was clear—Yoko's words had touched every heart present.

Faye's heart swelled as Yoko's words wrapped her in warmth. She felt the exact same way, and she couldn't help but be amazed at how similar their vows were—both capturing their journey, their feelings, and the beautiful, unexpected way it all began.

With their vows exchanged, the officiant smiled and turned to the guests. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you partners for life. You may kiss the bride."

Yoko leaned forward, cupping Faye's face in her hands. The kiss was gentle at first, a sweet connection that deepened as they pulled each other closer. The crowd erupted into applause, but for Faye and Yoko, the world had narrowed to just the two of them.

As they pulled apart, their eyes met, filled with unspoken words. Faye whispered softly, "I love you, forever."

Yoko smiled, her eyes shining with love. "I love you more. Forever, Faye. Always."
