I could see all his facial utterances through the rearview mirror.. What's happening with me? I placed myself in a cab where I found the turmoil of my life, NEIL as driver?What is he upto?Hold on! "Care to explain?", I couldn't keep calm."You really want me to talk to you while driving?", he suppressed his smile looking at my reflection in the rearview mirror with his blue orbs, where I could see his.Huh! As if he don't want to. Such a pretender! *rolling eyes*"Quiet! Just answer what I asked?", I gave back."Chill, daddy's little girl. I am not kidnapping you", he chuckled.Kidnapping?He was getting onto my nerves now."Shush! Can't you just tell me what's happening?", I almost roared."Distraction from driving can be dangerous, daddy's little girl! Can we speak later?", he asked leaning back towards me.Speak later?As if I am dying to talk to him. Imaginary 'go to hell' to him. Anyhow, I don't want him to blame me not even for an ounce of his misdriving."Fine!", I blurted out targeting my vision out of the window. Oh no! This way doesn't lead to my flat. Though I knew his intentions weren't wrong, but a bit of uncomfortable feel took over my senses."Where are we heading?", I asked in an anxious tone.He didn't respond."Can't you hear me?", I was irked.No response again.Well, how can I give up on this?No chance!"I am talkin....", I was about to finish but he cut my phrase off."Calm down! You are safe with me, don't you know this?", he threw his iconic smile.*huff*I wasn't sure how to react to this query of his. Hence, I just sat tight-lipped immersed in my own compulsion."Don't you trust me?", he added. "Haan, I do", I replied without any second thought.It didn't took me much time to realise what I just said.Heck!What did I just say? *widened eyes*How can my vocal just push out such words without my consent?Kill me! *imaginary face palm*There was a sudden jerk from Neil's end and I was hella sure, it was just because of what I said moments ago. Resulting, I was about to bump my head on the back of the front seat.I closed my eyes in despair.I was expecting to be hurt by the collision. Surprisingly, I wasn't.I sensed my forehead on a well-built hard-soft element, which was not that rigid in any way.I slowly parted my eyes only to find it was Neil's palm which saved me from getting hurt.I pulled myself aback on realising and noticed that cab was already paused."Are you okay?", concern was evident on his face. I nodded a YES!He let out a sigh of relief. Something fluttered inside of me. "Now tell me, did I just hear you saying that you trust me?", he sounded so contented.Damn!I have dug my own grave!"N..No..", I replied looking away in a try to shun the matter."You won't change", he just smiled and turned towards the steering wheel to commence driving further.Whatever!After few minutes, he halted the cab and came towards the back left door."We reached our destination", he opened the door.I stepped out and could see Tower Bridge from a distance. I surveyed the sorrounding for a jiffy.It was very peaceful and soothing as if we were away from the city."Where are we?", I asked still contemplating the area."That doesn't matter. What matters is, whether you liked it or not", he replied leaning his back on the hood of the cab with crossed arms."It's nice", I was lost in the beauty of the place."See, you were a bit low because Yash and Ayu left today. And now, you seem to be in a better mood. My move worked", he divulged. I kept mum. Actually, he was right partially."GOOD JOB NEIL", he patted his own shoulder in appreciation.What?"Self praise is no recommendation", I turned towards him throwing sarcastic smile."As you say my love", he reciprocated with authenticity.Gosh! He is too much!It was high time now, I need to confront him for his move."Why are we here?", I initiated the topic again."You wish to know this soon?", he countered."Would you mind coming to the point", I was annoyed. "Okay..Okay", he raised his hands in surrender. Finally ! "What else then? Why didn't you go with Mark, who was there to drop you?", he shooted.Mark?Oh! Now I get it!"Why would I?", I gave back."Why means what? You should have. Just because you didn't, I need to take this step. I already knew somewhere about your retortion", he declared."Why is that? And who asked you to do that?", I countered his declaration."I don't need anyone's advice or permission to keep you safe", he said in one breathe."Keep me safe? I am", I said."Yes, now you are", he replied."What?", I was addled."Um.. nothing", he shifted his sights.I don't know why but I felt as if he was hiding something.What it might be? And, why? "Well, how do you know Princy?", he snapped me back.Princy?Where did she come from now?"How do you know her?", I cross-questioned. "She is my employee", he answered in split-second as if he was prepared with the reply."Your turn", he asked "She is my flat mate", I responded walking ahead."Flat mate? You stay together?", he narrowed his brows. "Flat mates stay together I guess", I threw sarcasm.He went silent for a while."Now as well?", he seemed to be worried."No, she didn't come to the flat for a couple of weeks", I was confused. Why was he being so interrogative about her."Just a second", he excused himself.He paced a bit far and dialled somebody. Is he aware of her whereabouts?He came back after a couple of minutes after finishing his call.Though I was staring at him in suspicion, however, he was all same within his composure."Stop staring at me like that. Did you miss me that much?", he let out a playful laugh. Not again!"Stop this nonsense. I want to go back", I expressed."Come on, I met you after so many days. I don't wanna end this so soon", he paced towards me."Oh please, I am not interested", I walked away from him."Just few more minutes", he ceased his stride."No..", I headed in search of a cab."Patience, daddy's little girl. I will drop you", he blocked my way."Back off. You are not going to do that", I almost ordered."I am", he went stubborn. "Are you serious? What will I say to my flat mates if they see you?", I questioned."You don't have to worry. I will do the talking", he shrugged. "Are you out of your mind?", I roared."Do you want me to declare about us in our working space? Or are you letting me drop you?", he once again gave undeniable options. "About us? There is nothing about us", I yelled."Truth never hides", he said swiping his forefinger on my nose."Truth, my foot", I raged."So..you are..?", I cut him off.What if he really does that?No ways!Oh God! He will not let me go alone. "Fine, let's go", I agreed."You should relax, I will not do anything against your will", he threw his forbearing smile. Finally, we started. I was so restless all the way assuming the consequences and as usual he was so composed.We reached my flat and thankfully there was no one outside to see him.I stepped out and he drove off blowing a flying kiss at me. My hands flew to my chest in terror. I entered the drawing room unaware of the shock waiting there for me.What is all this?********************************How could Neil be so thoughtful?
