"You have to watch this movie tonight and call me giving the review!" Said Baani typing the name on Amrita's Phone
"I will only if I will get time" Said Amrita eating Paratha made by Baani
"Please Amy, please Watch it today !! We have nothing in this week, from next week we will have tests and all. Then you won't get time. So just watch it today" Baani pleaded with puppy eyes
"Hmm hmm okay !" She said enjoying the Paratha
"Promise me you will call me!"
"Okay!"
"At night !"
"Yes Baba, I will Baani" Amrita assured her
Baani grin and laughed to herself for the mischief that she had put upon. She doesn't know if she did right or wrong, but she can't let Amrita suffer in her one side liking !!
And also, College will be over in next week then they will be at college just for farewell and exams !!
Reaching home, Amrita took a good shower and slept for a long hour, feeling so tired already.
____________
She is giggling and smiling while watching the movie, the main lead reminds her of Abhimanyu and The female lead as herself a little, actually there are two leads.
As soon as the movie was over at 11 Pm she called Baani.
When Baani picked up the call, without even listening to her voice Amrita began to speak "Baaaannniiiii this Movie was soooo good. I felt so many butterflies and I kept on giggling. The Male lead, Damn he is soo Hot, I mean not more than Abhimanyu Sir, Abhimanyu sir comes first in everything. And You know that scene when they held hands, My heart stopped Baani and as The male leads personality was like Abhimanyu Sir's, I just loved the movie, Ohh thank you for the recommendation Baani"
Amrita inhaled deeply, her heart racing as the soft as the calmness around her, familiar voice whispered to her, "So, Abhimanyu Sir is hot."
"Not just hot, he's super hot!" she replied with a playful giggle, her cheeks flushing at the thought. But then, curiosity flickered in her eyes. "But why does your voice sound just like him?"
He chuckled, shifting slightly on the bed, resting his head comfortably against the plush headrest. "You must be imagining him, maybe!"
She frowned, considering the absurdity of the idea. "Imagining him? When I'm wide awake? Isn't that a bit strange?"
"Mhmm, very strange indeed, Amrita!" he teased, clearly enjoying the playful banter.
"Baani, is that really you?" she began to connect the dots and glanced at the screen, confirming it was indeed Baani's name that illuminated her phone.
"Or maybe it's the hot Professor Abhimanyu Raina!" He finally revealed, a grin creeping onto his face.
Caught off guard, Amrita fell silent, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts and confusion, unable to process the revelation.
"Amrita?" he called softly, breaking through her haze.
In a panic, she abruptly hung up, placing her phone aside as if it were a ticking bomb, her heart pounding in her chest.
Am I dreaming? This has to be a dream, she thought, desperately trying to wake herself by patting her cheeks.
Moments later, the phone buzzed again. Abhimanyu was calling, but the screen flashed with Baani's name. Hesitating, she reluctantly picked up the call and held the phone to her ear, her voice shaky. "H-hello? Baani?"
"No, it's Abhimanyu," he replied, his light tone
"Wait, how is that possible? Baani's name is on my display!" she exclaimed, her confusion deepening.
"Let me video call you then?" he suggested, amusement twinkling in his eyes as he relished the bewilderment that had unfolded.
"No, no, please don't do a video call sir please !" she pleaded, panic rising in her voice.
He frowned, disappointment flickering across his face. "Why not? It will confirm your doubt"
Her gaze dropped to her reflection, her heart racing as she considered her appearance. "Um... Sorry, Sir! Maybe the contact name just got mixed up. I didn't mean to... I mean, I'm really sorry!"
With a playful smirk, he probed, "So, I'm not hot or cool or... super hot?"
Amrita felt the heat rise in her cheeks as she facepalmed in embarrassment. "I... It's not like that, Sir," she stammered.
"Then how is it, Amrita?" he asked, running a hand through his hair, his voice softening with a hint of curiosity.
"Good night, Sir! Bye!" she exclaimed, trying to cut the call and escape her flustered state. Just as she was about to hang up, he urged gently, "Stop, do not cut the call."
She nestled her head into her knees, her voice trembling with a mix of embarrassment and regret. "Please, sir, I'm really sorry. I won't call you 'hot' again. I didn't realize it was you. Please don't be angry with me."
He chuckled softly, rising to his full height and casting a glance at his reflection in the mirror. The corners of his lips curved into a playful smirk. "I am your favorite professor, hmm, now it makes sense why you said that!"
Amrita suppressed a smile as she glanced at the caller ID on her phone. "Baani, you've really gone too far with this prank!" she thought to herself.
Leaning casually against the wall, he held a paperweight in one hand, his posture relaxed yet confident. "So, do you want to make it even? As I called you beautiful?" he teased, his voice light and playful.
Amrita shook her head, strands of her hair falling softly around her face. "No, sir, I wasn't thinking that at all," she replied in low voice, her cheeks slightly flushed.
His eyes twinkled with mischief as he pressed, "What did you think when I called you beautiful, Amrita?"
Feeling a rush of warmth, she clutched her blanket more tightly around herself, the fabric offering a small fortress of comfort. "I..."
"Go on, say it, Amrita," he urged, his tone softening as he noticed her nervousness.
After a moment of hesitation, she murmured, "I felt... beautiful," her voice barely above a whisper, but it sent a spark of delight across his face.
He chuckled, a grin breaking out, full of charm. "Well, I felt hot when you called me hot! So, there's really no need to worry about it," he replied with a smile
Amrita felt her cheeks heat further, and she could only manage a shy, "Hmm," managing to keep her eyes downcast, overwhelmed by both the compliment and the daring nature of their banter.
He listened to her breath and then he asked "Which movie you are watching waise?"
"Baani recommended it to me, (any movie in which there is professor) sir !"
"Oh that movie, Hmm So with which character you resonated the most?"
Amrita nervously scratched her head, a hint of shyness in her voice, "I don't know, sir!"
Abhimanyu, teasing yet observant, responded with a smirk, "Oh, I know! It's that student who has a crush on the teacherâthe girl with the glasses!"
Instantly, Amrita's cheeks flushed, a deep crimson spreading across her face. Abhimanyu glanced at the clock ticking softly on the wall, its hands moving steadily.
There was a reason they said not to engage in deep conversations at this hour; emotions ran wild and often spiraled beyond control. But they both were unaware of it.
With a resigned shake of his head, Abhimanyu said, "Good night, Amrita. I should probably stop now, it's very late." He carefully set the paperweight back on the table, a small gesture that felt significant in the moment.
"Yeah, bye, sir," she replied, looking at the time
As he ended the call, Abhimanyu fell back onto his bed, a grin spreading across his face. However, the happiness was short-lived as a knot of frustration formed in his stomach.
"Abhimanyu, she is your student!" he scolded himself, curling his hand into a fist, battling the conflicting emotions swirling within him.
Without hesitation, he sent a quick message to her: "Sorry if I made you uncomfortable, Amrita!"
When she read his message, a small smile graced her lips as she quickly typed back, "No, sir! I am good."
He mumbled into his pillow, "Abhimanyu, control yourself! You are her professor and nothing more." Yet, despite his best efforts, thoughts of her lingered in his mind, an enchanting distraction he couldn't shake off.
