Then, a nurse wheeled Olivia in on a bed. She couldn't move. Tyler
rushed to her side and held her hands. âDoes it still hurt?â he asked.
âHow's the baby?â Olivia's first question was about the baby. That was
all she was. thinking about.
âEverything's fine, you just had a little bleeding,â Tyler told her.
But Olivia was still scared. âI feel like the baby is trying to come out,â
she said, talking about her fear that something might happen to the
baby.
âIt won't, donât worry. The doctors are here to help,â Tyler reassured
her.
Olivia wasn't just worried because of Naomi; she felt a strong, natural
need to protect her baby. That feeling made her feel very vulnerable.

Olivia felt a bit better with Tyler's words and touch.
After talking for a bit, the hospital staff took her to her room. For now,
staying in the hospital was the best way to keep the baby safe.
Around 2 am, with Tyler by her side, Olivia finally calmed down and fell
asleep. She looked scared even in her sleep, often touching her belly
