Chapter 120
Now, Harris Group had always been one of the university's most
generous donors their name was even up on the main hall. So,
hearing news like that wasn't much of a surprise,
âYou know,â Sophie continued, âthey said Harris Group's doing, this
for your sake. Something about trying to increase your sister's positive
vibes? It's pretty weird, I know. Pat hey, those rich folks really believe in
all this spirituality stuff way more than us regular folks, huh?â
Olivia had no idea. Why would they do this? Was it because she
couldn't get pregnant like they had hoped?
But Sophie didnât notice Olivia's change in mood. She kept on talking,
âYour sister graduated from here too, right? So, of course, Harris
Group keeps donating, Man, our school sure benefits from being
connected to Naomi, huh?â
âI guess so,â Olivia murmured.
Sophie studied Olivia's confused expression. âYou didnât know
about this at all?*
âNo. No one told me.â
Their conversation ended quickly. Olivia made up an excuse about
needing to do some research in the library and headed inside, while
Sophie went off to do her own thing
Unfortunately, even in the quietest corner of the library, Olivia
couldnât escape the gossip. It felt like she was the only one out of the
loop.
That evening, after Olivia left the lab, she received a call from Tyler.
âHello? What is it?"
"Let's have dinner.â
She paused on the stairs, trying to think of an excuse to say no, but
then he added, âI'm already at the entrance. There's a restaurant near
your school.â
Unable to think of a good excuse, she reluctantly agreed, âOkay.â
âI'll be waiting for you.â
Olivia told Sophie about her change in plans and canceled their
dinner. As she headed to the entrance, she noticed Tyler checking his
watch every few minutes.
âSorry for making you wait,â she apologized when she reached the
car. The lab was quite a distance from the entrance.
Tyler set his documents aside. âI didnât wait that long. Get in.â
âJust the two of us?â she asked. They rarely ate together alone.
âNo, itâs... it's an event I canât skip, so I thought of bringing you
along,â he answered quietly.
Olivia recalled the story about his donation again,
