Chapter Twenty │Together

Now that we were officially together, Ryder couldn't stop kissing me. It seemed like every time I opened my mouth to speak, he rewarded me with a kiss right after. The occasional times I wouldn't let him put his lips on mine didn't seem to deter him either, as he would just kiss my neck, or my shoulder instead.

Like right now, I'm sitting on his lap at lunch and he's alternating between kissing my mouth, when I let him, and kissing my neck when I don't. Although I'm enjoying it too much for my own good, there still has to be guidlines.

"Ryder, you have to stop kissing me so much, we're in school. You're gonna get us in trouble," I mumble, trying not to moan when he sucks a soft spot on my neck. "Plus, this is way too much PDA, we're turning into that annoying couple that everyone feels uncomfortable around."

"Good." His lips are still on my neck, and when I arch my back to move closer to him, a groan rumbles in his chest. "I don't need anyone else if I have you."

I look around the cafeteria in a daze, hoping that no one is watching, but judging by the other couples at the table doing similar things, I'm sure we'd be fine. The only person paying attention to us was Amber, who kept throwing us smug looks while having a conversation with Link.

Apparently, her and Link were running a bet on how soon Ryder and I would get together.

Amber won.

I found it funny that the bet wasn't based on if Ryder and I got together, but when. I only found out this morning when I updated them about my relationship status, and without even looking surprised, she held out her hand to Link, who rolled his eyes and placed a fifty dollar bill in it.

"Aren't you hungry?" I ask, eyeing his uneaten food. He's been so busy kissing me that he hasn't even touched it.

His mouth slowly trails up my neck to my ear. "Not for food."

The rough, husky tone of his voice and his breath against my neck makes me shiver as I fight hard to pull it together.

"I'm not sleeping with you yet, you know," I tell him, figuring that's what he was aiming for.

"Is that why you think I'm kissing you so much?" I shrug. "I'm obsessed with you." His eyes are darkened by lust and his voice is a deep rumble, but there's still a tenderness in his eyes as he speaks to me. "That's why."

He pulls me tighter against him and puts his lips on mine for a rough, passionate kiss. "Your taste drives me insane," he licks his bottom lip with a small groan, like he's tasting me in his mouth right now. "I can't get enough of it and I never want it to leave my mouth. Your scent weakens any self-control I thought I had, and your lips fit perfectly against mine." He nuzzles his nose against mine. "Of course I want to sleep with you. I dream about you every night. But right now, I'm kissing you because I can't stop. I'm too hung up over your mouth to do anything else."

Um, wow. How much more perfect can he be?!

I realize that I was wrong about my assumption. Besides everything that he just said, it's also proven in his actions. His hands have never gone creeping up my shirt, or in my pants. Which is something that has happened with every other guy I've made out with. In fact, I'm the one that instigated going further with him. When we had our first real kiss, I took his shirt off, not the other way around.

I kiss him this time. Trying to show him with my lips just how much I appreciate him. "I love kissing you too. You're so perfect that it actually makes me sick." I wrinkle my nose at him to let him know that I'm joking, and as soon as I do, he snaps forward to kiss it.

"That was so cute. I had to." I highly doubt that me wrinkling my nose at him was cute, but hey who was I to complain if he thought so.

I roll my eyes at him. "Thank you, but we still need to stop kissing each other at school."

"It's impossible for me to keep my hands off you," his fists clench as if he's fitting the urge to touch me right now, "but I'll try. . . for you."

I move closer to give him a quick peck on the lips as a thank you, but he tangles his hand in my hair, holding me in place so he can kiss me for a lot longer than I'd intended.

When he finally pulls away, he places a kiss on my forehead. "Starting now."

I laugh. This is probably going to be hard for him to do, but it would be a struggle for me too.

I slide off of his lap to go in my own seat, but his hand around my waist stops me. I sigh. "Ryder, I can't stay on your lap."

"Please?"

I decide to comprise. Instead of going to my own seat, I widen his legs until I'm sitting in between them. This way I'm still sitting on the seat, but I'm also leaning my back against him.

"Happy?"

He nods, smiling. He really does remind me of a dog sometimes.

"How are you going to eat now?" He could still reach for his fork and put it in his mouth, but it would be more difficult, and probably a little messy.

"I'll figure it out," he shrugs, "or I just won't eat lunch."

Well, I won't allow that. After I tell him that, he starts eating, spearing the food on his fork with more force so it won't fall on me to the way to his mouth.

I almost laugh at how ridiculous he is.

I look around me again and thank God that we chose seats at the end of our table, so people weren't surrounding us. I would die if someone heard our conversations, but we usually spoke quietly anyways.

I sigh again, leaning myself further against Ryder.

I think I'm falling in love with him.
