A judge waited until she finished her catwalk, then criticized, âYour white tightâfitting dress, though pretty, easily exposes the extra flab under your arms, messing up the overall look. And your design, itâs supposed to be a strap dress, right?â
The number 10 designer hastily replied, âYes.â
âBut your straps are too short. They canât be worn and must be left on the shoulders, leaving indentations on the skin. It doesnât look good.â
Designer number 10 felt ashamed and bowed her head.
The judge, holding a microphone, expressed disappointment in her work. âYour shoulders are too wide for this offâshoulder dress. Youâve only considered appearance while designing, not the comfort and fit of the wearer. I can only give you 3 points.â
The highest score was 10.
Other judges also gave low scores, and the audience gave even lower scores.
Designer number 10 knew she couldnât move on to the next round, so she thanked everyone and hastily left the stage.
Seeing this, Molly ran back to the restroom and told Arabella, âArabella, what should I do? The judges are so strict, and the audienceâs expectations are so high.â
Aiming for high scores was not easy.
Arabella was on her phone. No one knew she was actually in the competition. Everyone thought she was just playing games.
âArabella, you look good even when youâre playing games.â For some reason, Molly thought Arabella looked good no matter what she did.
On stage, the number 11 designer did her walk. The president of the Womenâs Wear Association, Tess, picked up the mic and criticized, âAs for your waistâcinching dress, the waist is only as wide as a palm.
You must be uncomfortable right now, right?â
Designer number 11 couldnât hold back and nodded. She admitted it was indeed too tight!
âThis could easily lead to poor blood circulation. In severe cases, it could even cause rib fractures.â
Some audience members laughed when Tess said this.
Tess seriously said, âDonât think Iâm joking. A while ago, an actress was sent to the hospital right after leaving the red carpet. She had actually fractured her ribs. I advise you to take it off now. When designing in the future, be mindful of the sizing.â
After designer number 11 left, designer number 12 took the stage. After her walk, a lot of the audience had to cover their eyes, The judges were also somewhat speechless. âActually, before you even took the stage, I noticed your piece. The offâshoulder puff sleeves, cinched waist, and lots of pearls sewn onto the dress, it has a fairyâlike feel. But after you put it on.â
This gorgeous dress, the zipper at the back, could only be pulled up halfway.
âThe dress youâve designed has a slim cut. Only very thin models can wear it.â
After she put it on, she looked bulky.
âAs a designer, you canât just chase after glamour and ignore the practicalities. Also, your pearl necklace doesnât look good. It makes your neck look thick.â
âNext up, letâs welcome contestant number 16!â
As the hostâs voice ended, Arabella gracefully took to the stage.
She wore a long, roseâembroidered white gown and a beautiful crown. Her dignified and elegant appearance immediately/captured the attention of everyone present. She was like a princess stepping out from a castle, noble without being cliché, exuding high class and aristocratic temperament.
âSheâs so beautiful!â
âSheâs even prettier than celebrities!â
âSheâs like a fairy. Not only is the dress beautiful, but she is too!â
âIs she assistant to designer number 16? Iâll remember her! I have to find her and sign her as a celebrity!â
âOh my god, Arabella?â The president of the Fashion Designers Association of Solterra, Flora, almost spat out her water when she saw her. She couldnât believe her eyes. She rubbed her eyes and looked again. It was her!
This big shot in the design world was actually participating in this small competition and as an assistant.
Was it just because she missed this important figure, or was this important figure, having been in high places for too long, bored and wanting to experience the life of ordinary people?
âDo you know her?â Hans asked from beside her.
