Chapter NinetyâOne
Ryley
:
I had fallen asleep on the ride back home. Blake unbuckling my seatbelt woke me from my restless sleep. I felt guilty for what I put him through. I leaned up and kissed his cheek.
âIâm sorry, Blake,â I mumbled. He turned to face me, brushing his lips against mine.
âI forgive you, but that doesnât mean Iâm not mad.â He sighed.
âPlease, donât hate me,â I whispered, my heart twisting painfully. Blake had every right to kick me and Channing out of his pack. I wasnât a member and he doesnât have to protect me.
âI could never hate you, baby. But you need to think about joining my pack. I need to be able to link you.â He told me, running his thumb along the cut on my cheek, where I was hit with the butt of a gun.
âOkay,â I nodded. Blake stopped and looked me in the eyes.
âOkay, youâll think about it or okay, youâll join my pack.â He questioned.
âOkay, me and Channing will join you pack.â Before I could say anything else, his lips crushed against mine. I winced as his thump pressed painfully into my cut.
âShit, Iâm sorry, baby,â He rushed out, pulling away from me. I moved his thumb before pressing my lips against his again.
âItâs nothing that wonât heal,â I told him, pulling my lips from his.

âStill no Lily?â He asked me and I shook my head.
âShe is still snoring away. Iâm glad one of us is getting some sleep.â I shrugged.
Blake helped me out of the vehicle. He had parked out front of the pack house. But he led me over to the pack hospital, where I should get my own private room since I always seem to be here. This was becoming an almost daily thing, and I needed to change that. And Lily is getting the scolding of her life when she wakes.
âAre the boys okay?â I asked as we walked into the ER.
âThe boys are on our floor in the pack house. I have Luca making sure they didnât leave. I didnât know what you had started.â He answered.
Fuck. I didnât even think about that.
âMiss Halliwell, fancy seeing you here, again,â Dr. Perry greeted me.
âWe have to stop meeting like this,â I chuckled.
âYes, you do,â Blake grumbled as we followed behind the doctor as he led us to a room. Blake helped me to sit on the exam table.
âLetâs take a look,â Mr. Perry came over to shine a light in my eyes.
âSo, do you want to tell me how this happened?â He questioned. Blakeâ s chest rumbled and I knew he was going to be unhappy.
âI was pistolâwhipped with a gun,â I shrugged, The roar Blake released caused goosebumps to cover my body. People would be terrified of him, but I was instantly turned on.
âItâs okay, Blake,â I reached for his hand, squeezing it.
âYou have a minor concussion, and you should have gotten stitches,â

the doctor announced.
âStill no wolf?â He asked and I shook my head.
âOkay. Remove your shirt and Iâll check your arm,â he said. I was going to lift it over my head until Blake stepped in to just pull my arm out of my long sleeve. I smirked up at him. I let him do it without a fight since I knew he was about to explode.
When he was satisfied with the amount of my body that was still covered, he moved to let the doctor check my arm. The doctor had a smirk on his face as he pulled back the bandage. Instead of watching the doctor, I turned my attention to Blake. He seemed lost in thought when I reached for his hand again.
When the doctor was all done rebandaging my arm and placing a bandage on my cheek, I was able to go home. Finally. It had been a long day and I was exhausted. As soon as my shirt was back in place, Blake scooped me up into his arms. I let out a squeal.
âAlpha, no intense actives until her wolf wakes and heals her.â Dr. Perry scolded his alpha.
âThank you, doc,â I told him.
âIâll see you tomorrow,â he called out, as Blake rushed out, carrying
Blake didnât stop to talk to anyone as he carried me up to the alpha floor. When he walked me inside our apartment, the boys were still up, sitting in the living room watching a movie.
âMom, are you okay?â Channing rushed over to me as Blake placed me on my feet. Aspen also rushed over, to examine the bruise on my face.
âIâm okay, you two. Iâm just tired. Iâll explain everything in the

morning.â I promised them.
âMom, did you go to see Dad?â Channing questioned.
âI went to see his mate, Lisa.â I sighed.
âShouldnât you hate her? She stole your mate?â Aspen asked, confused. Blake let out a growl.
âI donât hate her and she didnât steal my mate. Now, itâs time for bed,â I told them. I gave them both a hug and a kiss, while Blake was in the kitchen.
âI love you both so much,â I told them before I made my way into Blakeâs room. I guess it was now my room as well.
I stripped off my clothes and went into the bathroom to have a quick shower. I know I couldnât get into bed with another manâs scent on me. Blake was already at his breaking point and it was all my fault.
âWhat the hell was I thinking?â I mumbled to myself.
When I was done, I quickly dried off before walking back into the room naked. I know this was mean but I needed to take his mind off of what happened. He let out a groan as I walked around the bed to the other side. He was already lying on his side of the bed. I climbed in under the blanket and moved until I was snuggled into his side.
âThatâs not nice,â he grumbled.
âIâm trying to take your mind off what happened today. Iâm so sorry Blake. I was just about to leave when all hell broke loose.â I explained as I ran my fingertips over the contours of his abs. With his arm wrapped around me, he pulled me closer.
âLetâs just get some sleep. You can tell me everything in the morning.â
