Chapter 116
âAre you upset?â Janice was a little naïve, but her womanâs sixth sense told her that Victoria was not in
a good mood now.
Gulping, Janice blurted out, âDid I say something that made you upset? I⦠I only said what came to
mind. I donât have any other intentions. Please donât think too much.â
âI am not upset.â Even though Victoria tried hard to force a smile, her eyes still remained dark. âYou are
too naïve, Miss Mooney. You had better ask Mr. Buckley beforehand when you make friends and help
others in the future. Donât get used by others. That will cause trouble for you, Miss Rita or even Mr.
Buckley.â
Janice frowned and pouted at that. âBut I think you are a good person!â
âGood person?â Victoria chuckled for some reason, but her laughter was filled with mockery.
No one had ever described her as a âgood personâ because it sounded more like Bellaâs exclusive
label.
However, Janice forcefully bobbed her head up and down. âMy womanâs sixth sense tells me so!â
Silence ensued after that.
As it was almost time for work, there would occasionally be other employees who walked past them.
However, any sort of chattering or commotion would automatically fall silent when they walked past the
two women. Those people would even intentionally soften their footsteps and breathing.
After a long while, Victoria reminded Janice, who was bewildered and anxious, âI am not as vulnerable
as you may think. You donât have to come see me in the future. I have to go to work. I am off.â
Back when she was hospitalized, Matthew had warned her that someone with âulterior motivesâ like her
should stay away from Janice.
âVictoria? Victoria!â Janice jumped and called out twice, but the person in front of her didnât stop.
With a frown on her youthful face, she couldnât understand just what she did that could have offended
Victoria.
Out of nowhere, she lightly slapped her head as she seemed to have thought of something. She then
took her phone out to dial a number.
âMr. Buckley!â With a hand on her waist, Janice roared as soon as the call got through. âDid you say
something to Victoria behind my back? Stop changing the topic! I asked you if you did?!â

Daisy went to nearly 50 salons with that horrendous hair on her head, but all the hairstylists told her
that she needed to have at least 10 centimeters of natural hair to put in hair extensions.
However, her hair was mostly only one or two centimeters, and there were even parts that werenât even
one centimeter long. The hairstylists couldnât fix it for her with their skills.
No one wanted to take the job no matter how much money she was offering!
The more Daisy thought about it, the more unwilling she was to accept how things had turned out. She
had finally heard the news that Victoria was kicked out by Christian, and Daisy was planning to take the
chance to thoroughly embarrass Victoria. Alas, not only did she fail, she was almost fired from the club.
âMr. Sharp, are you willing to just watch me get bullied by Victoria?â Daisy was sitting on the lap of the
new director, Zayn Sharp, in his office.
Zayn looked straight at her. âOf course I donât have the heart to see my little darling suffer like this, but
you know that Victoria⦠is someone we canât afford to offend!â
After saying that, he gulped and leaned in for a kiss.
Daisy pouted and pushed him away, her eyes full of hatred. âYou think too much! Why would Mr.
Thatcher kick that woman out if he was interested in her? Dear, donât forget what you promised me!â
âOf course I wonât!â
Hearing this, Daisy pushed him away and glared at him as she raised her voice, âMister, donât you even
think about touching me today if you donât promise me!â
âDonât be mad, baby. There is no need for you to lose your temper!â Zayn loved feisty women like this.
Patting his thigh, he calmly coaxed her, âCome take a seat. We can take our time to talk about it.â
She only stared at him unmovingly. âJust tell me whether you will do it or not. If you donât, I will go to
Old Mr. Ford instead! Since he pampers me so much, he will definitely say yes without hesitating for
such trivial matters. He is not a coward like you!â
âOh, donât bring up Old Mr. Ford every time. No matter how much he pampers you, there is no way he
can deal with Victoria easier than I can when I am her supervisor.â Instead of getting angry that Daisy
called him a coward, Zayn was entertained, as he thought that Daisy was more interesting than his
obedient wife at home.
Daisy realized that his words made sense after he said that. She then sat on his lap with a sour face
on. âWhat are we going to do now, then? That woman has embarrassed me in public so many times,
and she even cut my⦠Anyway! I canât take this lying down! I am not a Torres if I donât pay her back
tenfold!â
Zayn was about to say that Daisy could take his last name instead when his phone rang. It was a
message Charlotte had sent to both the Delta Clubâs management team group chat and employee
group chat on WhatsApp.
The message went, âWayne Donoghue, Skyler Moss, Fiona Fall⦠50 of our employees have made
groundless accusations and spread false rumors about Victoria Coleman and Mr. Thatcher in the club,
which is a serious violation of the basic principles of the Delta Club, and has constituted a crime of libel.
For the sake of everyone being the employees of the club, Mr. Thatcher said that he will not sue the 50
employees. However, keeping such employees in the club is equivalent to having a rotten egg in a
basket, as it will seriously affect the clubâs morale. After a discussion I had with Mr. Thatcher, we have
decided to terminate the 50 aforementioned employees and never reemploy them. We hope this
incident serves as a deterrent for the rest of you.â
Daisy also took a peek when Zayn read the message.
When she saw how his eyebrows were pulled together, she inwardly cursed him out for being useless
before she threw her arms around his neck and cooed, âBaby, those employees are getting fired
because they made Mr. Thatcher angry by speaking nonsense about him. This has nothing to do with
Victoria.â
She then rubbed against Zayn. âDo you think Mr. Thatcher would have thrown Victoria out if he liked
her? Besides, donât forget that Victoria only ever cleaned toilets before this. Mr. Thatcher couldnât
possibly let his woman do this kind of work.ânovelxo.com fast update
âT-Take it easy.â He narrowed his eyes. âLet me think o-of a way to handle Victoria.â
Seeing that he still hadnât conceded, Daisy retracted her hand and rolled her eyes as she turned livid.
âDonât you dare say that I am making things hard for you! There will be a rooftop party tomorrow. It is
fine if you get her to handle the cleaning there, right?!â
As a careful man, Zayn didnât want to take action before he made sure the relationship between
Victoria and Christian. Hence, he hesitated. âIââ
âStop being wishy washy! It is either a yes or a no!â Daisy had turned red from having to deal with a
loser like him. âIf it is a no, I will get out of here right this instant!â
Zayn lowered his head to look at himself, and after pondering over it, he gritted out, âOkay. There is no
way I can say no to my baby darlingâs request.â
