Chapter 5: Chapter Four!

Adelynn’s POV

It was eleven already and most people had arrived at Mike’s house. I was in my room getting ready. The music was very loud and pounded loudly in my ears. My first thought? My ears would be definitely be ringing when I went to sleep tonight. Which I may mention, isn’t anytime soon.

When Mike and I arrived home, I helped him get ready for the party by taking out the red cups and getting the sodas out while Mike moved the furniture. I also helped him put the expensive stuff into his parent’s room and locked the door so no one could get in. The alcohol was no doubt going to be provided by the people that were coming to the party. When we were done doing all of this, it was already ten thirty and people started to arrive.

That’s when I came home to shower and was getting ready for the party. I was pretty excited for it because well for one, Alex might be there and also, I loved to dance! I just enjoyed moving around to the beat of the music. Usually, I would be shy about this but since there are a lot of people there, I would feel more comfortable dancing with the crowd since everyone else is doing the same thing.

I took out the amazing dress out of the bag and slipped it on. It fit perfectly and like I mentioned earlier, it showed off my curves. My black hair was fixed into soft tousled waves. I pushed my hair to the side so that my back was shown since there’s no point in buying an opened back dress if you are going to cover your back.

Now, for the makeup. I put on a little mascara and some eyeliner to make my blue eyes more noticeable. Then, I applied clear lip gloss since my lips were originally a pink color. That was all I put on since I didn’t want to go over with the makeup. I usually didn’t use any at all and I didn’t want to apply to much to make myself feel uncomfortable.

I put on these nice black pumps and looked at the mirror to check one more time. When I decided that I looked okay, I headed over to Mike’s place. It was about twelve and people were littered around the front yard. His yard was like an exact copy of a scene in a movie where a party took place. A few people were making out, some people were just passed out or laying there in the grass.

I scrunched my nose when I saw this. I don’t think laying down on the grass was a good idea. Last time I was on Mike’s lawn which was a few days ago, I stepped on poop. Yeah, poop. It was quite disgusting. When I realized this, my face automatically screwed up in disgust. I turned to Mike to tell him I stepped on poop but he already saw what happened. He threw his head back, his eyes crinkling in the corners just laughing at me. What a great friend. His eyes were shiny with unshed tears as he laughed in the sun.

He didn’t even make a move to help me with my situation so when I got off the lawn, I threw my converses at him. Thank god my shoes were old because I swear I saw some brown on the fabric on the side of my shoe. It didn’t hit him but it landed right in front of where his feet were placed on the floor. Once I did this, I realized that it was a huge mistake since well, he chased me with the dirty poopy shoe. I screamed like a baby and ran as fast as my legs can carry me. I was laughing while running but was terrified. What if he crashed into me and the shoe went into my face? I would cry.

My legs were pretty long but they didn’t help since I can’t run for life. He caught up, using one arm, snaking it around my waist and threw me over his shoulder. It was in one swift movement. It was times like this when I questioned if he was human. I was relieved to find that he wasn’t carrying the infected converse.

Mike marched in his house, threw me on the sofa and sat on me. Yes, he sat on me even though he was probably more than fifty pounds heavier than me. I weighed 125 pounds and I was sure Mike was at least 175 pounds. He was a tall man with muscles so he had to weigh a lot.

“This will teach you a lesson on throwing poop shoes at me.” He said. I knew he didn’t use all his weight to sit on me but he was still heavy. That fatty. He eats too much. I shouldn’t say that though since I eat a lot too. It was a good thing that I had fast metabolism or else I would be in deep doo doo. Just like how my converses were in. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t abuse my metabolism and rely my weight on that. I do exercise. I do sit-ups and crunches and everything but if you compare it to the amount of food I eat, no amount of crunches would help me. So thank you metabolism!

I heard a retching noise coming from the side of me, breaking my thoughts. To the side, I saw a person throwing up. Eww.

I walked inside the house and was attacked by mobs of people. I wasn’t surprised by how hot it was inside since there were a lot of people. There were a lot of people in the house that everyone was squished together. I couldn’t find Mike anywhere so I walked in the kitchen to grab a drink. I took a coke since I didn’t want to get drunk. I walked back into the living room which was created into a dance floor.

I spotted Mels and Austen dancing together which was so cute. When Mels spotted me, she and Austen made their way towards me. I gave them each a hug.

“That dress is so cute! Where did you get that Addy?” Melanie asked me excitedly.

“American Eagle. It’s nice right? That’s why I bought it.”

“Aww Addy! You’re all dressed up.” Austen said. I smiled at him.

“Is there someone you’re trying to impress?” He questioned me with a knowing smile. That’s what I loved about Austen. We didn’t always talk but yet, he always knew everything.

At this, Mels was jumping up and down with excitement. “Who is the boy? Did you finally want to admit to that neighbor romance best friend thing that I’m always talking about?” I shook my head and laughed. Mels was always dead on about me and Mike turning into lovers or something. I won’t tell her that I actually do have a crush on Mike though, she would be ten times more excited than me. Mels spoke a lot whenever she was excited and I didn’t want her to accidently tell Mike, it would be too embarrassing.

“No Mels, I don’t want to impress Mike. There’s no one to impress. I can’t dress up once in a while without trying to impress someone?”

Austen rolled his eyes since he obviously knew that I was lying but he didn’t push on. Mels on the other hand, pushed on but I kept on denying everything so she gave up. She knew that I would go to her if I wanted to talk. She wouldn’t go so far since she respected my privacy. I would tell her about Alex eventually if there was going to be anything to talk about.

Mels and Austen both went to grab drinks and I made my way to the dance floor.

I was dancing to some house music that was on. It had a great beat to it. I felt someone’s breath on the back of my neck, making me jump up.

“Did I ever mention that you are so cute?” At the sound of his voice, a smile formed on my face. I relaxed a little since it wasn’t some weird creepy stranger like the guy at the mall. It seemed like I had gotten his attention. Thank you nice dress!

I turned around to him. “Yes, I think you did. And did I mention that you look so handsome?” I surprised myself by my boldness. I never actually flirted with anyone before so this was kind of new.

He smiled, showing me his white teeth and dimples!!! Yes, I like dimples.

“No. Not until now. Are you flirting with me Adelynn?”

“Maybe.” I said with a smile.

“Do you want to get a drink? C’mon I’ll take you to the kitchen.” He grabbed my hand, our fingers entwining. His hand felt nice against mine.

I didn’t want to drink anything but I still wanted to talk to Alex so I followed him into the kitchen. He handed me a beer but I shook my head and he gave me a soda instead. He settled for a Sprite which surprised me since I thought that he was going to drink something with alcohol in it.

“So, tell me about yourself. I want to know more about you other than you’re not much of a social person and that you’re shy.”

“Uhh, there’s not really much. I like to play volleyball and I like to sing even though I don’t think I’m that good at it. I also like to dance.” I laughed nervously. “There’s nothing interesting about me. I guess the only nice thing about me is my eyes.” I bit my lip again since I was nervous.

“Well Adelynn,” He started. I liked how my name sounded when he said it. “I think that you’re pretty interesting. I’m sure that you sound good when you sing with that beautiful voice of yours. Also, you’re pretty good at dancing.” He told me with a wink. I blushed at this. “I’m sure I said this a million times already but you’re really cute.”

For the rest of the night, it was spent with Alex telling me about himself which was pretty interesting. This would seem boring that I was just listening to a guy talk about his life but when you liked someone, I guess anything that they talk about would be interesting. He’s on the football team and likes to draw. I would’ve never guessed that Alex was an artsy person since he looked more like an athletic person. He does both sports and art which was pretty awesome.

Alex has a little sister which he loves and is extremely protective of which I would consider cute. Like I read in books, having a protective brother can be a nightmare but I think that it would be nice to have a big brother. It shows that he looks out and cares for me. Now that I think about it, Mike does play a protective brother role. I wasn’t going to think about him right now since well, I can’t be thinking about a guy while talking to another guy that I like.

Alex was really funny and kept me laughing all night long. When it was about one thirty in the early morning, people were getting ready to leave. Alex suggested going to watch a movie tomorrow and I was actually pretty good at containing my excitement. On the inside, I was jumping and squealing in joy. Alex had asked me out!

When I went home, I took off my makeup and quickly changed into one of my large t-shirts specifically the one that Mike expected me to wear to school this morning. I fell asleep as soon as I closed my eyes.

I uploaded early because well, I reached 500 reads for "Falling For You." It's my other book and I was really excited and was in a good mood. Haha, I finally told my friend the title of my book and sent the link to her. She read the first chapter of "Falling For You" and she said she liked it. I was so worried that she would think it was bad or something. Anyway, my favorite show, Vampire Diaries is on later tonight! I'm so excited hehe.

I'm read Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick which was absolutely awesome and I finally started to read the second book. So far so good. My friend told me to hurry up so I can read the third book. I didn't even finish reading the second book and I already borrowed the third book from the library haha. I'm probably going to finish it maybe this weekend. Read Hush, Hush. It's an amazing book. If you like romance and sci-fi novels, you will fall in love with the book.

Today, I returned this job application to this place that I want to work in this summer. My friend told me about it and I thought that it was pretty cool. We're going to volunteer so I hope that they choose us. It'll be nice working with my friend. I really want to get the job because I want to do something in the summer. As much as I love Wattpad, I can't spend all summer online. So fingers crossed. :D

(: Okay, I'm going to stop talking now. Hehe.
