Chapter 1154
Though Vicky anticipated this, her heart still sank at the mention of Tylerâs name. âAre you sure?â
âYeah,â Jennifer whispered. âThe toxin doesnât harm the body, so itâs very rare.â She paused and
continued, âThere isnât that big a demand for this sort of toxin, and thereâs only a limited number of
people who purchased it in the past. After all, no one would care if theyâre hurting their victimâs health if
they wanted to ruin someoneâs face.â
Vicky held her phone silently.
âVicky,â Jennifer called out. âAnthonyâs father is quite well- versed in the studies of poisons and toxins,
so donât worry about the antidote. Anthony has contacted his father, so Iâm sure weâll find an antidote
soon.â
Vicky stared at her reflection on the computer monitor and said bitterly, âIf my face is truly ruined, do
you thinkâ¦that Tyler will finally let go of me?â
Jennifer jolted in shock and said hastily, âVicky, donât say that. You canât punish yourself over someone
elseâs mistakes.â
Vicky chuckled. âI wonât, donât worry. If this is what Tyler wants all along, I wonât let him get what he
wants.â
Jennifer relaxed. âHang in there, Vicky. Iâll get Anthony to find a way to transport you out of Zendonia.â
âOkay.â
They chatted for a while before the call ended.
Despite what Jennifer promised, both Vicky and Jennifer knew how difficult it was to break free from
Tylerâs control.
Just as Jennifer ended the call, Vickyâs phone rang again.
âVicky,â said the low and gentle voice of Lincoln on the other end of the line. âWeâve found the antidote.â
Three days later, at the Hartsâ mansion.
Averyâs door was forcefully pushed open with a loud bang.
Two stern bodyguards leaped into action and forcefully escorted Avery out.
Avery resisted with all her strength. âHow dare you grab me? Donât you know who I am?! This is the
Hartsâ mansion!
Watch yourselves, or Iâll make sure you regret it!â
Despite Averyâs protests, the bodyguards showed no mercy and spoke coldly, âMiss Yeager, please
cooperate. Weâre acting on Mister Tyler Hartâs orders. We request your presence for questioning. If you
donât cooperate, donât blame us for getting rough!â
âTyler?â Avery paused, her struggle ceasing. âTyler Hart?â
âThatâs correct.â
She narrowed her eyes and shook off the grip of the two bodyguards, raising her voice. âLet go, I can
walk on my own. n
The two bodyguards exchanged glances and released her.
They did not take her away from the mansion but instead led her to another room.
As the door was pushed open, a man with a cool demeanor stood silently by the window.
Sunlight poured through the clear glass, accentuating his tall and sculpted figure; his sharp profile was
even more radiant and perfect under the sunlight.
Avery stood at the doorway, completely captivated by the sight.
She was someone who valued looks and had a preference for beautiful things, and the man before her
ticked the checklist of her aesthetic taste.
âMister Hart, weâve brought her here,â the bodyguards respectfully reported as they approached.
âAlright,â Tyler said coldly. âYou may leave.â
