Chapter 298: Chapter 177: Breaking the Limits: Dead Weight Part 2

「You’re a good girl, so run to your mother and don’t look back.」

「T, thank you, Mister……」

「Mister……? Oh well, let’s go with that, I guess.」

It’s not all that cool and manly, but you can’t really help it. I watched as the mother approached the girl and the two started to run away from here. …… They look different from the ones in the previous matches alright. Once I was sure they were far away, I turned towards Meetias again.

「What’s wrong, Hero? Isn’t it your job to help all those who are in need?」

「Ahaha, of that’s rich…… I don’t think that Cursed Prison is the kind of guy who would help others just like that.」

「This isn’t a comic book. It’s a game.」

How long ago was it that I said those words? It may have been not even an hour ago, but it felt as though it was way longer than that. I wonder what would Cursed Prison say in a situation like that?

「Universe sure is a crazy place…… Still, it’s not like I have any complaints. I just do what pleases me.」

The difference in our strengths was staggeringly disadvantageous to me, the helicopter armor was pretty much useless at this point and I lost my propeller swords. However, it was me who was in a far better position right now.

「You’ve used up your Ultimate Move, Hero.」

「…… Come on now, if I wanted to defeat the “Cursed Prison”, there was no way for me not to use it, and you know it!」

「My turn now.」

Cursed Prison’s Ultimate Move is different from that of other characters. It does not inflict damage per se, and it is closely related to the lore of the character.

Cursed Prison is a Villain that first appeared in the comic book series “Meetias”, and he is related to Galaxius, the series’ Deus Ex Machina that ties everything together.

He is an irregularity born out of Galaxius, a sort of part of him that grew its own consciousness and developed his own set of goals and ambitions. His ultimate ambition is to gain more power.

However, due to his ambitions being too dangerous for even the fabric of existence itself, Galaxius imprisoned him in a cursed suit of armor that could not be removed by any normal means and inhibited his powers greatly. Hence the name “Cursed Prison”, a prisoner of the cursed armor.

So in order to be able to reach the being that was created in Galaxius’s image and that was granted a share of its power -- Meetias -- I had no other choice but to get rid of that cursed suit of armor.

「PRISON BREAK!!!」

Cursed Prison was supposed to be Meetias in the first place. Prison Break is the ability that lets him use his original power in a limited way, driven by the sole ambition of obtaining the Chaos Cube and absorbing its power for himself.

The helicopter armor comes off all at once and the black armor beneath it starts to show a lot of crack and fissures forming across its whole surface. Originally it was the power meant to be unleashed thanks to Galaxius’s influence, but since it was a game I was willing to pay that small detail no mind at all.

Bright light overflows from the inside of my armor, swallowing everything that was in its path. It was crimson in color, a polar opposite of Meetias’s cool blue glow.

Then the armor, as if no longer able to handle the radiating brilliance, comes off all at once revealing a crimson man that was lurking underneath it.

Cursed Prison is a type of character whose Ultimate Move is really specific. It’s the Ultimate Move that collect all inorganic substances from the vicinity and incorporates them in Cursed Prison’s body on a cellular level, increasing his overall parameters and performance.

「That’s the first time I’ve been this excited about a match like that, Prison Break………………!!」

The boon of Prison Break will last approximately thirty seconds. Compared to the time of one round, it’s really short. Too short. However, during those thirty seconds…… My Power, Speed, Mobility, they are all equal to Meetias!

「It’s the grand climax now, so put your back to it!」

「I’m going to win this…… Because I’m the HERO!」
