The two other movies seemed to go by rather quickly and by the end of it, I had teared stained cheeks but was happily smiling. Because even if it was a movie made for a kid, it was very sentimental and had its moments. Don't judge me.
Lucas raised an eyebrow at me and I giggled at my own thoughts. I wasn't weird at all, I was just unique. Everyone is unique in their own way, right? Well, at least that's what my teacher told me when I was, like, seven.
"You literally look like a maniac," Lucas commented, making me roll me eyes. "And you're acting like one with your damn giggles."
"Woah, I know the "D" word isn't the biggest profanity in the world, but it still is. So watch your mouth, young sir," I said, narrowing my eyes at him with my index finger pointed at him.
"I'm older than you," he retorted.
"I never said you weren't," I retorted back, making him roll his eyes in defeat. Ha, take THAT, Lucas. I got him real good.
"What do we do now?" Lucas asked, changing the subject to something more relevant to he situation. Or maybe not, but oh well. It was a good question, so I'll give him that much credit.
"Well, I for one, am going to check up on Lily and Jackson, considering they're at lunch," I told him and reached over to get my phone.
He groaned, "I barely text any of my friends, it'll be weird."
"I never told you that you had to text your friends," I chirped and it felt like a deja vu moment because of what I said a minute ago. "I told you I'm going to text Lily and Jackson."
I heard him sigh and I could almost feel him roll his eyes while I texted the two. We had a group chat which we named "No Boyfriends Allowed."
Lily named it.
I don't know why, considering I don't even have a boyfriend and Jackson is only flirting with his crush. The only one with a boyfriend is Lily and even so, she just started dating the boy. I chuckled at the memory. Jackson and I kept changing it, but she insisted that "Jackson will be dating Ashton soon and I'll be dating Lucas soon" although the last part was very false. But she would've kicked us if we tried changing it again. How stubborn.
me: hi i'm bored and lucas is being unintelligent
lily: shut up i'm trying to eat lunch in peace
me: make me
lily: i will
me: bet
lily: i'll beat you up
jackson: Will you two shut up? I'm trying to enjoy my Chick-Fil-A.
lily: well excuse me that my mom doesn't bring me fast food food
jackson: This doesn't happen every day! I'll give you a fry, now stop being so jelly
me: hahahhahh jackson said jelly. that's a new one
jackson: Ashton has changed my texting style. :)
me: wtheck okay now you've changed into that one person who uses that face. bye then stranger
I dropped my phone on the bed and sighed with a laugh, even though the hot temperature was suddenly attacking me. I tried to ignore it the best that I could.
Honestly, I couldn't ask for better friends. They were everything to me and were always there for me, as I was for them. Yeah, Jackson abandoned us and yeah, things have been rough lately, but we've overcome that now. We were that one perfect trio that everyone was jealous of and I loved it.
I sat up and dizziness abruptly filled my head and I felt like I was going to black out. "Lucas-" I was cut off with bile rising up to my mouth. He stood up and ran to get a trash can and it literally felt like I was about to faint. My throat was burning immensely, which made it harder to hold in.
Luckily, I saw Lucas out of the corner of my eye and he put the bucket to the side of me. I leaned over the bed and released all of the bile, feeling very nauseous.
"Shit, Kylie," I heard Lucas swear in a mumbly voice as he turned his head away from me. I don't blame him; anyone throwing up isn't going to be a very pleasant sight.
Once I was finished, I felt like absolute crap. What a surprise. I felt lightheaded and nauseous and Lucas's voice seemed muffled when he was talking on the phone. Probably telling my mom what happened.
"It's like I'm pregnant," I said out of the blue with a small chuckle. It was a weird thing to say, sure, but it was true. It was like when pregnant women get morning sickness, but at noon and them heating up like they're in a volcano that was ready to erupt. But at the same time, I was freezing.
I hate when that happens. When you're burning up but also freezing to the point where goosebumps appear on your skin. It was a nightmare combined with another nightmare. It was a... double nightmare.
"I'm taking you home," he announced and I didn't feel like arguing. I was sick and just threw up, so no thank you.
So I just nodded my head briefly while sitting up on the bed. "I'm going to go brush my teeth," I muttered and stood up, dizziness filling my head abruptly.
He nodded slowly, watching as I went into the bathroom next to his room. Although my head was still a little dizzy, I succeeded on brushing my teeth and automatically felt a lot better and cleaner than before.
When I walked back into his room, he already had his shoes on and his keys in hand. He handed me my shoes and I muttered a thank you to him. He nodded curtly while staring as I tied my shoes.
"Stop staring at me, it's weird," I complained with a small pout.
"I'm just making sure nothing horrible happens," Lucas replied with an amused face. "Now come on, I'm going to take you home."
"I know, you already told me," I responded back to him.
After I was done tying my shoes, we both headed to Lucas's car. As I sat down in the seat, I realized how nice he was actually being to me. First, he took me to his house when I was sick at school. Then we both watched Mean Girls, got ice cream, and watched The Lion King. Then he didn't complain when I kind of threw up. Wow, I didn't really notice that.
"Thanks," I muttered while looking out the car window. The car was already started and some popular pop music was quietly playing in the background.
"Huh? For what?" Lucas asked with a small glance before averting his eyes to be concentrated on the road ahead of him.
"For the past few days. You've been really nice. So thanks," I explained in a mumbly voice. It's not like I wanted to say thank you to the person who I hated just a few months ago. But at the same time, I didn't have to.
"Of course," he replied. I turned my head to see a small smile etched onto his face. I then turned my head back to the window after I realized that a smile appeared on my face as well.
We arrived at my house shortly afterwards. The silence during the car ride was surprisingly comforting, unlike most silences. It was odd given the fact that I had just thrown up in front of him.
I got out of the car and waited at the door for Lucas. When he came up the stairs, he gave me a sympathetic smile before ringing the doorbell. I was pretty sure my mother was home from work because Harry had a doctor's appointment. Apparently he's sick as well.
Wow, we love some hashtag twinning going on in the world! Sorry, I'll stop.
Soon enough, the door opened and we saw the face of my mother. She worriedly looked at me, then at Lucas.
"What's going on? Kylie, are you okay?" I heard my mom ask.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just the flu, I guess," I responded. All I wanted to do right now was sleep and do nothing all day.
"Okay," she replied uneasily, urging me inside the house. She turned to Lucas was a hospitable smile, "Thank you for everything you've done. You're so sweet."
"Oh, don't worry about it. Thank you for letting to spend time with her," he replied to my mom, giving me a smug look. I rolled my eyes.
My mom smiled at him again before waving goodbye and shutting the door. She turned toward me and sighed like she just fell in love. Oh no, she did not fall in love with a highschooler.
"So when are you guys getting together?" she asked with a small wink and crossed her arms. "I expect by next week, yes?"
"Mom!" I exclaimed with an eye roll. "Your daughter is horribly sick and you're worried that we aren't together! Look, he's just a friend. Nothing else, alright?" I gave her a pointed look.
"Better than an acquaintance," I heard her mutter under her breath. "I'll let you go to your room and do whatever. I'll be in the living room if you need me. Take care."
She kissed me on my forehead, making me let out a groan. "Mom, I'm not a toddler anymore."
"You sure act like one," she muttered before letting out a laugh. "I'm just kidding, sweetie! I love you."
"I love you too," I responded with an eye roll before heading into my room.
Time for hibernation.
