Tutoring The Bad Boy | ✓Words: 8807

The next thing I knew, I was at school once again. The weekend had gone by way too fast but that was normal at this point. I groaned as I looked up at the board, seeing the date written out.

Monday, no fun day.

"Good morning, class. As usual, get the warm-up from the back counter and do Monday. We'll review for the test tomorrow and you'll get your study guide and blah, blah, blah," Ms. Rodriguez said and walked to her desk.

I chuckled and soon realized that I didn't have a pencil. I glanced to the side of me, where Lily was, then glanced to the other side of me, where a blonde boy was.

"Do you have a pencil?" I asked Lily who only shook her head in response. I internally groaned. "Really? I thought you had a dozen of those stupid things."

"Nope," she responded, popping the "p" and suggestively looked back and forth from me to Lucas. I was not going to ask Lucas.

"Do you have a pencil?" I asked the boy next to me, who also shook his head. Why does nobody have more than one pencil?

I let out an annoyed huff, walking to the back of the classroom to where Lucas was seated. I can't believe I'm actually going through with this. He looked me in the eyes questioningly and I felt my stomach swirl a little. Woah, calm down there, belly, because I never asked for your input on this situation, thank you very much.

"Do you have a pencil?" I muttered out, annoyed at the fact that I was asking Lucas.

He held up his pencil that was in his hand. I smiled happily and tried to take the beautiful, yellow object.

He laughed, pulling the pencil away. "I'm using it, dummy."

That was quite rude.

"Well, do you have a pencil that you aren't using?" I asked, the annoyed tone now lacing my voice.

"Nope," he replied smugly, playing with the pencil in his hand.

I glared at the boy and walked back to my seat. Ms. Rodriguez glanced at me with a confused expression before passing out white boards with expo markers. Oh gosh, we're reviewing like this. At least I didn't have to have a pencil.

She put the first math problem on the board and I grinned, glad that it wasn't one of those really long, time consuming, and hard ones. I hated those with a strong passion.

I was one of the first ones to finish so I then checked my answer with Lily's. Lily was extremely good at math so I was pleased to know that she had the same answer as me. She chuckled at the look on my face.

"The answer should round to 124.7," Ms. Rodriguez said after everybody was finished.

I heard a loud groan from the back and I quietly laughed at the fact that it was Lucas who made the sound. "I got 54, what the fu-" Lucas caught himself before he let out the big bomb, saying, "-udge. How does this even work?"

The woman sighed and proceeded to go over the problem. It was quite boring considering the fact that it took a few minutes just to work out the problem.

"Oh, you don't square it," Lucas muttered out sheepishly. "That's fine. I'll just be sitting over here, failing these math problems."

"Well, I didn't get you to get tutored for nothing," Ms. Rodriguez replied.

Lucas mumbled something to himself and shortly afterwards, the next problem was up on the board.

The bell rang after millions upon millions of math problems that I won't ever use in my entire life. Like, just teach me how to get a job, pay my bills, and buy a house rather than teaching us these complicated math units.

"So, tutoring session today?" Lucas asked once we walked out of the classroom, a small grin on his face.

"Unfortunately," I grumbled, almost inaudibly.

"I am quite a fun person to tutor, thank you very much!" The obnoxious boy replied with fake shock, acting offended.

"Mhm, you sure got that right," I responded, sarcasm lacing my voice. He sure was funny if he thought that was true. The boy couldn't even pay attention to what I was trying to teach him the first day I tried. Who knows, maybe he'll try this time.

The thought made me burst out laughing as Lucas looked at me like I had three heads. He had an amused glint in his eyes before walking off to his locker.

"I see you, I see you. Getting it on with Lucas finally, hmm?" Lily nudged me once I arrived to my locker, which was close to Lily's.

"Oh, shut up," I muttered, trying to prevent the blush from creeping up onto my cheeks. Sadly, I don't think that's humanly possible.

Lily amusingly looked at me and pinched my cheeks, "My little baby is blushing."

"Hey! I'm the mother, not you!" I exclaimed, crossing my arms over my chests with a small pout.

"Well, I'm the daughter who acts like the mother," Lily retorted smugly. What the heck, does that even happen?

"That never happens. Literally, never," I said, rolling my eyes.

"You never know!" she singsonged before skipping off to her next class.

I chuckled at her behavior and got my stuff for the next period. When I walked into the classroom, I saw Lucas sitting next to where I usually sit. Oh, joy.

If it were any other person, they would've just moved anywhere else, but I'm not normal. I'm protective over my seat, it was like my child. Though I did sit in it for an hour almost every day. Yeah, never mind, it's someone else's kid and I'm just babysitting them.

Haha, get it? Baby sitting? I'm sitting on the baby— yeah, okay.

"Fancy seeing you sit next to me," Lucas said with a smirk, breaking me out of my thoughts.

"Don't think it's because I want to be your friend," I muttered snappily.

"Why do you have to hurt me so much?" he asked and pouted. Oh my gosh, his pout is so cu- disgusting.

Soon, after everybody was seated and the bell rang, class started.

"Good morning, class!" Mrs. Edmund greeted with a warm smile. She was one of those elderly ladies who were very nice, but also strict. As long as you weren't on her bad side, she was the sweetest lady you could ever meet.

The class mumbled a bored "good morning" and I laughed. It was funny considering I actually liked this class apart from Lucas but the others seemed to already be uninterested and bored to death.

"I know that it's a Monday and all, but since we finished The Outsiders, we're going to write an persuasive essay on why Ponyboy can or cannot stay gold after what has ever happened in the story. It's due on Friday," Mrs. Edmund informed us all, making everyone groan. Apart from me, of course.

Unlike the majority of the entire population of Earth, I loved to write essays or anything in general. Well, most of the time. If it was a boring topic, I'd still do it, but I wouldn't enjoy doing it. It's like reading a book; if you don't like it, you're not going to enjoy it but if it catches your interest and you favor it, you're going to enjoy it.

"The book was so boring though. I literally barely paid attention," I heard Lucas mumble in annoyance. "How the fuck am I going to even do this without failing it?"

I found it quite humorous that he was talking to himself. I whispered to him, "Maybe you could actually read it and pay attention this time? I don't know, just a thought." I shrugged with a small chuckle.

"Or maybe you could read it with me. You know, more tutoring?" he suggested, smirking.

What a horrid thought. Spending more time with him. So, that's why I responded with a big, fat "no."

"Oh, come on. It'll be fun. Plus, you'll get to review it a little. You know, refreshen your mind to higher your chances for a one hundred," he responded and I gave in. Only for the chance for getting a higher grade though. Not because I wanted to see how this would turn out. Totally.

"Fine, but only with one condition," I replied and pursed my lips. He looked at me curiously before I said, "You have to actually try."

"Okay, fine, fine," he responded and faced back to the teacher with a happy smile on his face. I found it cute that he was happy about the fact that he was going to spend more time with me— not that he needed to know that.

The rest of the day was pretty normal. Jackson sat with Lily and I and brought Ashton. He was definitely quiet, only talking when he absolutely needed to. Even then it was short and quiet. It was nice to see everyone smiling and laughing.

And soon, I was greeted by Lucas's face. I felt our nose gently touch one another. His eyes met with mine and I felt my heart race a little. Okay, maybe a lottle.

"Is someone nervous?" he asked in a mutter-y voice and smirked.

"N-no," I stuttered and pushed him away with a glare.

"Whatever you say, darling," he said, the same smirk still etched onto his face.

"We should get going," I mumbled, looking away from the boy, and a blush creeped onto my face for the second time today.m

Life must truly hate me, huh?
