I didn't have to think twice.

Without asking for permission my body was in flight, and I almost felt like laughing because of how amazing it felt, forgetting all about the chase that was happening around me.

Worry only entered me when I realized how much further ahead I was than Hunter.

Clearly I was running faster, and I knew that it in my bones I could run even faster if I

wanted - this wasn't my top speed. But Hunter was struggling to keep up.

Ignoring his wounds, Hunter caught up to my pace and both of us continued running on all fours. I was too busy enjoying myself that I didn't realize a wolf had jumped out from the side until I was rolling around in the mud with it. Trying to regain my balance but failing miserably.

On impact with a tree, I heard something snap. I wasn't sure if it was Hunter or me and that's what worried me there was too much Adrenaline in my body to feel any pain.

As I tried to get up I noticed I couldn't, upon leaning on my paw I screamed out in pain. Two different bones were sticking out in two different places, blood everywhere.

Hunter had pretty much given up at this point and was still lying on the ground, I had no idea wither he was conscious or not. But he was completely covered in a combination of blood and mud.

With the three working legs I had, I limped over to him. Trying to protect him of some sorts from the dark wolf in front of us. To get to Hunter he'd have to get me first. Big ol' threatening me with three working legs....I didn't think this through well.

Hunter was conscious, but barely.

And he was back as his human self, which I knew wasn't good. I found myself remembering a certain superpower and deep down I knew I would need to use it, no matter how tired or painful It was going to be.

One thing was certain, it was either him or me. So honestly there wasn't even a choice, it was him. He would always come before me, he was my mate and I was his. Even if I hadn't even admitted it out loud yet.

Closing my eyes and trying to focus, I placed both hands on his naked chest In severe pain, I hadn't even realized I'd shifted until I looked at my human arm, and it couldn't be seen from all the blood. The only noticeable part was the bone...that wasn't in my arm.

I tried within my soul to find the strength from myself that I could give him and almost smiled when I did. The obvious circumstances stopped me.

"W-what are you doing?" He struggled to speak, the urge to fall back into unconsciousness too much.

The large wolf was watching me as it crept closer, eager to find out what I could do. Wondering why I'd given up on the fight and became human again. It was curious....far too curious.

I shushed Hunter gently and was comforted by how warm my hands were becoming, once again I was interrupted by Him.

"No...stop! You don't have the energy! You might kill yourself!" He shouted at me.

This caught my attention, and I stopped for a split second and thought about it.

And if I do nothing we're both going to die.

I Focused harder, and my hands became a translucent red. Energy was draining out of me in a flash of light, and by the second, Hunter was getting better. The life was coming back into his eyes - the blue getting deeper.

The open wounds around his neck began to close and his eyes became the brighter blue that they once were. The same blue I had always loved.

Hunter then began fighting me, trying to stop me from helping him. He succeeded, after all he was using my energy.

He removed my hands from his chest and sat up as I practically fell into his arms, drained of all energy. I desperately wanted to shut my eyes, but I fought the urge. I was stronger than this - I had to be.

Hunter picked me up, careful not to injure my arm further and stared down the wolf, his eyes darkening.

"Em! We need you!" He screamed into the dark, empty, vast woods that were upon us.

The large wolf in front of us began growling, walking towards us once again with its mouth open and its huge, sharp teeth showing. What caught my attention was its coat. It was falling out in multiple places and looked to old to match its eyes.

It was like it had the fur of an old wolf, but yet it had youthful eyes. Even if those eyes were ready to kill. As it was about to pounce on us, it's eyes slowly rolled back and it collapsed on its side.

As the wolf fell, it revealed a tall figure that was slumped, looking tired and in pain. It spoke one sentence that made me want to cry in joy.

"You really thought I'd let you get eaten by Wolves Ce?" She spoke sarcastically.

"You came back!" I screamed at Em, grateful for such a badass best friend. She stumbled towards us and immediately panicked when she saw the state I was in.

"And what on planet cheese happened to you?" She spoke, humor there but her worry showing through. I got a gut-feeling that she already knew.

"Tell me you didn't-"

"She did." Hunter responded. Laying his head low in shame. I couldn't understand why, it my my decision and I was still here in one piece wasn't I?

Em sighed and looked at me," you don't know what your doing Cece! You could've died..." She spoke all in a hurry. She cared, and that meant so much but I didn't die, I was right here and I was fine. Kinda - if you forget the broken arm part and the exhaustion part then I'm all good. We were all so focused on each other that we didn't notice the figure that appeared out of the dark of the night.

" I see we have a guardian in our presence." An unknown voice spoke to us from behind. Emmaline's head then snapped around in worry.

A man whom looked around his late twenties appeared from behind a tree with three others behind him. He was fully-clothed, but yet the others weren't so this mans position over them caused my heart to beat loudly in my chest.

I looked to Em who looked caught as off-guard as me. And had water threatening to leak from her eyes.

"The last member of the royal family...what a privilege this is." The slim man spoke, his voice like ice. "Well I should say last sane member." He laughed, and the three others behind him joined in over-sarcastically.

He was talking about my father, and how he lost it after my mother was killed.

"Well I guess you do have us to blame for that you see.." He grinned, showing his straight teeth that were slightly pointed. His grin was the type that would give you nightmares scary enough to wake you up. But you were so terrified you couldn't sleep again - he would hide in the corner of your room...watching you.

"Get her." He whispered, but only loud enough so that we heard. Following the command they had received, all three of the large males jumped down beside us and started attacking.

Hunter had been pushed so violently that he fell backwards, completely knocked off his feet which sent me flying. I landed once again, heavily on my broken arm. Which I don't think even classified as an arm at this point, screaming out in pain.

Ididn't have to complain long, for one of the males grabbed me quickly and tried to pick me up.

I fought with every once of energy I had. Which wasn't much honestly. I was more bothered about the fact I was naked and he was trying to grab me.

It wasn't enough, I didn't stand a chance against him and we both knew it.

Instead I received another broken arm from him, which caused me to reach my limit. I screamed like I never had before at the clean snap, and didn't even notice I was over his shoulder getting carried away until Hunter was screaming on me.

I got a short glance at them, my friends, as I was being Carried away in the shoulders on a stranger.

It all seemed like it was in slow motion.

Hunter was on the ground getting repeatedly kicked in the stomach, yelling out in pain to the amount of force that he was getting kicked by.

And Em....she had been injected by some sort of blue liquid, she was rolling around on the forest floor crying out in pain, all while clutching her ears, which blood was dripping out off.

Both looked at up me for a split second, ready to keep on fighting but it was too late. Before I could shout for them, there was a huge burst of blue light. I consumed all areas around us.

My vision was completely flooded with blue light , I couldn't see anything else but it. It engulfed me, surrounded me, it was everywhere at once then gone.

Like a flash.

Before I had a chance to figure out what was going on, a hard hit to the head stopped my thoughts.

Everything turned black.

Hunter's POV

"Where is she!" I began shouting, the pain in my chest unbearable, but it wasn't from me being kicked, it was from Cecelia leaving.

Everything hurt.

Em was still lying on the ground crying her eyes out, something wasn't right. This whole evening had been wrong. It had gone wrong.

I crawled by her side and tried to get through to her, "Em...Em!" I shouted at her, lightly pushing her.

Nothing.

I began lightly shaking her but it wasn't working, it was is she was stuck in some kind of  dream, a nightmare even, but she was awake. Wide awake.

Suddenly she jolted forwards and began breathing heavily, the sweat dripping of of her forehead.

"Woah Em....your okay it's fine, your okay." I repeated to her, softly wrapping my arms around her in a friendly manner. She looked worse than me, and I hated competition.

"W-what just happened there?" I asked her, wanting to see if she was able of giving an answer. She looked up at me for a split second, then began panicking.

"Where..! Wh- where," she mumbled not making any sense, almost like she was struggling to talk.

"Where is what? Cece?" I asked her, the pain in my heart worsening from mentioning her name.

"Where is she!"She screamed out into the empty forest, so loudly that it hurt.

"WHERE ARE YOU!" She began crying out, getting worse and worse by the second.

Soon, she was having a complete meltdown in front of me.

"They cut it..." She sobbed,"I can't-"

"You can't what? What did they cut?" I asked, shaking her to try and get her back to me,

"What happened Emmaline?"

"they-she's gone..." She cried loudly, huge sobs erupting from her chest. "They're all gone.." She pretty much whispered to me, repeating herself again.

"EM!" I shouted, and immediately she snapped back to reality. Breathing heavily, but the pain was still in her eyes.

"What was that about?" I asked her worryingly, for she was scaring me with the state she was in.

"No...no..." She mumbled, before looking up at me again.

"They cut my link to the other side. I-I can't speak to them? I can't feel Her! Hunter what do I do?!" She began shouting and feeling around the ground.

"What do you mean they cut your link to the other side?" I questioned her, nothing she was saying was making any sense to me.

"Hunter I'm mortal."

The three words rang in my head, Em was Human. Completely human.

Which meant she couldn't feel Cece, she wouldn't be able to track her and we wouldn't be able to talk to the other side to ask for help.

"Em does this mean? Where is Cece?" I asked and she looked like she wanted to cry even harder than she already was.

"Don't you understand ? YOU IDIOT, I CAN'T FIND HER."

Em was mortal. Something she'd never experienced...not in the last thousand years.

I squeezed her tightly and let a tear drop out of my eye. This was my fault.

"Em ...." I whispered,"we need to find Cece."

Damn, this was really hard to write for me because I changed ALOT of things here that I never originally had planned, but yeah I'm just gonna go with da flow for now and see what's gonna happen.

My opinion on this chapter, well I hate it.

Pleaseeee tell me yours because it's yours that's actually matters.

Thanks again guys!
