Detroit: Become Human

————————————————

As I was walking along a small, dirt path through the woods, the sensation of fear came over me. Tickling my spine with goosebumps as I shivered unknowingly.

Yes, I was still terrified of wolves - which made absolutely zero sense since now I was one. I had fully accepted that for the first time over the week, finally acknowledging that I wasn't crazy.

It had been a full week since my birthday, and every day Hunter had made me meet him in the woods. Earlier on today, he left me a bag pack which contained a full set of clothes which he owned. He told me to bring them with me as he flashed me a smile and disappeared, so here I was, in the middle of the woods with a Bag Pack on my back and nothing to do.

It was like Hunter was giving me a mini-lesson in the woods every night and it was fitting since all he would teach me about were werewolves. I carefully look around me, not feeling safe in the area I'm in.

He taught me about alphas and their betas, basic things that I literally could've looked up on my phone. But what I didn't know about were-families, a family were like a pack, except everything was ran humanly. Although large packs were common, the bond between them wasn't a strong as a family.

The father represented the alpha, and the mother the Beta. The kids just had to fight it all out amongst themselves, with the oldest male usually gaining the highest rank.

Hunter also taught me about rogues and how after a wolf first turns they long for another's company. Which explained my 'isolation' issues the week before.

I arrived at the small private area that Hunter met me at every single day, occasionally testing my patience and turning up late. It was at the edge of a cliff and it had a deep blue waterfall that fell of the edge into a large stream at the bottom before disappearing into the woods. All you could see from the top was the dark tops of trees and forestry.

It was completely isolated.

I sat on a large grey rock covered in moss and waited on Hunter to turn up, which usually when he did - was Late. I pulled out my phone to satisfy my boredom and my head shot up when I heard something running in my direction on all fours from a large distance away. I could hear every sound that It made, from the legs making contact with the ground to the grains of dirt landing beside it.

Appearing in front of me, was a completely black and grey Wolf with large blue eyes, and it had itself targeted completely for me. It ran at top speed and was the biggest thing I'd ever seen. Slowly, I itched backwards, completely frozen.

I fell off the back of the rock and began crawling back as quickly as I could to get out of its reach. The wolf's light eyes shone like the moon as it prodded closer and closer to my face, it's breath hitting me.

There was no space between me and it at all. I prepared myself for death., shutting my eyes.

Suddenly, bones cracked and twisted in an inhumanly way and it transformed the black wolf in front of me, to the boy that lived across the road.

The entire time the blue eyes stayed the exact same, and I couldn't help but feel breathless as he sat practically in my lap, right in my face. Naked, fully naked.

"Boo ." He laughed, a cheeky grin on his face as he began to climb off of me.

I could still feel my heart in my mouth and was trying to put together what had just happened in my head.

"Awh, did you get scared?" He mocked, standing up and getting me get a full, proper view of his very muscled chest - but I turned around with a huge blush on my face before I could see anything else.

He grabbed both of my arms and pulled me into my feet effortlessly. If I was any closer to him, we'd be touching. Literally - and he was still naked! I'd never been so uncomfortable in my entire life.

"Rawr." He leaned down and whispered into my ear, grabbing the bag off of my back. He then found himself behind a nearby tree to put on some clothes., taking his time as he did so. Once he was finished he re-appeared in front of me with his usual grin.

"Do-" he was cut off by nearby movement. Without any thought he pushed me behind him, and held me so tight that my arm began to sting.

Out of the bushes popped the one thing I didn't expect.

Rather someone.

Appearing from behind a tree was Em, her long hair was tied up and she was wearing comfortable clothes - something Em never did. I had a big feeling something was off from the expression on her face.

Hunter immediately let his guard down, and looked at the red marks that were appearing on my wrist. The look he gave me was pure regret, the same that I felt coming off of Ashon earlier on during the week, his eyes lightening as he began to breath heavier at what he'd done.

"Em?" I questioned, still getting the same scent off of her, which was completely different to anything I had ever smelled.

"Hey.."She laughed nervously, pretending to act as if it were completely normal to be in the as far in the woods as us. This wasn't an unplanned visit.

"How'd you find us?" I asked, taking a step towards my best friend. Hunter being the protective male he was, blocked my way and looked down at me with worry.

It didn't stop me from shoving him out of the way. Well, trying. He was stronger than me, so even trying to move him in any way was impossible. Still I tried, and every time I moved left or right, he did too. With his arms crossed and a smirk on his face.

I think he genuinely enjoyed being an *sshole.

"Stop it!" I shouted at him, loosing my patience with how immature he was being," Why are you here Em?" I asked, being friendly and ordering Hunter out of my way.

"We seriously need to talk." She mumbled worryingly.

Em was being very serious, she seemed worried and anxious at the same time and we walked off slightly so that Hunter wouldn't bother us, heading down a tail through the autumn-coloured woods.

After we had found our own isolated area with plenty of trees and rocks, we sat down with an awkward silence following. She looked a lot less stressed and much more comfortable to be around, but she still wasn't herself.

"Em what's wrong?" I asked, being genuinely worried about how little I'd seen her, and how distant she had been around me lately.

"You're seventeen now..." She began, sighing as she placed a hand on her forehead.

"And I've known you for a very long time, and you trust me, don't you?" She asked, now fiddling with her hands and hair. I nodded.

"Em, you're my best friend. I trust you with my life, if it's anything seriously bad you can trust me." I assured her, putting my hand on hers which was shaking.

I chuckled lightly to myself.

"Did you get yourself knocked up in Vegas?" I joked, gaining a genuine laugh from her before she realised that it could be taken completely wrong, and she nudged my lightly in the ribs.

"No!" She laughed,"who do you think I am?" We laughed together, realising we hadn't done this in forever.

"But back to all seriousness now..." She mumbled, swallowing hard.

"Em, I'm listening. Say what you have to say."

"Well - your seventeen now...."

"Yes?" I answered confused.

"Well then you know everything," she continued looking downwards at the damn ground, her blue eyes terrified.

"What?" I asked, confused as to her meaning.

That was when her head snapped upwards and she continued once again, completely taking me off guard with the words she spoke to me.

"Cecelia! You know about the wolves!" She shouted, finally looking happy she had it outside of her system as if it had been building up inside her forever. She loudly sighed as she thought about her words carefully.

"Cece! You are one for goodness sake!" She laughed, proud of herself for using her voice.

I just stared at her, mouth opened wide as I panicked about what to do. Was I supposed to deny? Lie? Play dead?

"How in the heck... How do you know that!" I laughed, finally happy I could talk to someone about it rather than Hunter, not that I didn't like talking to him. But it's hard to imagine the both of us jumping around in wansies having a pillow fight, and watching titanic with a giant bowl of melted chocolate.

Em sighed one more time and spoke confidently, " Cece, I have something I, I want to show you." She began.

"You believe in werewolves now, which will make this a million times easier for me." She spoke, standing up in front of me.

"Don't freak out." She spoke slowly, taking in deep breathes. "I-I'm not exactly human either..." She spoke, breathing in and out heavily." Yeah...I'm sort of the furthest thing from it."

She had easily caught my attention with that one sentence.

Suddenly there was ablast of light which from Ems body which completely blocked out my vision. When I found the strength the open my eyes the thing before me gave me goosebumps over my arms and legs.

Before me stood a ghost-like creature that was emitting blue light. Her bare feet were floating just above the ground and her hair was flailing around her head as if she were in water. Obviously gravity didn't apply to her in this case.

Her natural blue eyes were now a diamond white colour with yellow flakes through it and

She was in a long white gown which floated in mid-air with her. Circling around her skinny body as what seemed like electricity was flowing through her veins.

I was completely frozen.

The fact that she looked a million times more pretty didn't help the situation. Really Ce?

"Say something?" She pleaded,"please?"

I began laughing nervously, no idea what to say.

"This wasn't what I expected when you dragged me further into the woods." I sighed with a slight smile on my face.

"Earlier this week when you said I smelled weird. It was because of this." She smiled lightly, feet feet descending from the air and her entire body returning to normal as soon as her feet touched the ground.

"As a werewolf, you can sense other wolves, but you can also sense other supernatural creatures." She swollowed, sitting down beside me on the rock and placing a hand on mine. I responded by giving her a small smile as I tried to thibk about something to distract myself.

A huge dark cloud that had previously formed came over us and it started raining hard. Cold water was falling down my face and down my body.  Wetting my clothes and body. Both Wm and I ran for some sort of shelter.

A pair of arms then grabbed both of me from behind, and my sight went black as I started screaming. Something had been put over my eyes and everything was a threatening black, I continued to scream out as I could feel arms rummaging all over my body.

"Cece!" I could hear Hunters Voice call out into the woods, desperate and worried. Suddenly whatever had blocked my sight was removed and all I remember is a voice screaming for me to run.

I didn't look backwards, all I did was run. With my hands tied behind my back tightly, I could feel the circulation starting to cut off, but I ran as fast and as hard as I could.

My unbalanced legs didn't go me any justice as I slipped on the now-drenched soil beneath me, plummeting forward with no control or hands to save me.

I must've blacked out after that, because all that I remembered, was falling closer to the ground where a large rock was waiting on my head to make contact with it.
