517 Bring His Woman Home
âLeporiphobia,â Victor turned to Marcel by his side, âThis is the first time Iâm seeing someone with such phobia.â
The both of them stood in front of the glass cell watching Clara who was putting up a show for them.
âWith Clara, you shouldnât be surprised,â Marcel meant it. The girl would have been the death of him had they ended up marrying. And he meant that literally.
âThose who suffer from this phobia may find the appearance of rabbits unsettling and the fear that rabbits will attack them,â Marcel explained, watching as Clara curled in on herself. It had taken them time to set all of this up, but it was worth it.
âThis might have a lasting psychological effect on her,â Victor said, his gaze on his cousin. He was pointing out that Marcelâs method might have been a little bit too harsh.
Marcel arched a brow, âReally? You think I went too far?â
Victor gulped down saliva without saying a word. He knew better than to question Marcelâs decision right now.
Marcel took a step forward till he was standing right in front of his cousin. He then reached out and lifted his chin so they were staring into each otherâs gaze.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âIt seems that Iâve become too soft lately that everyone has forgotten the real man residing beneath the surface,â He said with a sudden hardness in his gaze.
.....
Victor didnât break his gaze knowing that his cousin was right. Arianna changed something in Marcel and he had been a lot more magnanimous than before, but that doesnât erase the fact that he was Danielâs heir. Everything Daniel knew, he knew as well, because he was his fatherâs son.
âIâm sorry. I spoke out of line, it wonât happen again.â Victor told him.
âGood,â Marcel nodded, âAs much as I love your contributions as my consigliere and my brother, Iâm still the leader of this family and you donât make the decision for me.â
âIâll do well to remember that,â Victor promised him. As his close relative and worker, it was sometimes hard to remember his position and blur the line sometimes.
Marcel turned to stare at the glass and Victor followed his gaze, resting on Clara who seemed to be muttering something they couldnât hear. Following the shape of her mouth, he bet it was gibberish.
âIâve condoned Claraâs behavior for far too long and itâs high time she knows who sheâs dealing with. Iâve been pushed around by my father a lot, I canât let a mere ant like her step over me and go scot-free. If she wields that kind of power, now that weâve separated, who knows what kind of trouble she would cause me... or even Arianna, â He added at the end slowly.
âSo youâre cutting off her wings before it sprouts too wide,â Victor finally understood.
âYou can call it that.â Marcel caressed his chin thoughtfully as he went on to say, âShe would be dead if it wasnât for my relationship with her mother. It was Dianaâs misfortune to have an irresponsible daughter like her.â
He went on, âWith a bit of help from a therapist, they should be able to get her mind back on track. Release her after an hour of communion with the rabbits and communicate to her mother that I want her as far away from me as possible. Whether they go abroad or not, I donât care. However, her daughterâs dead if sheâs caught five meters near me. â
âHuh?â Victor was confused by the series of orders from his cousin. However, before he could ask anything, Marcel was already taking his leave.
âI want her gone by the time Iâm back,â Marcel demanded.
âWhere are you going to?!â Victor asked him confused.
Marcel looked over his shoulder to answer him, âTo bring my woman home!â
Of course, it was to get Arianna. What was he expecting? That Marcel was leaving to fix him a drink or what? Victor was beginning to miss the time it was just the both of them together before the women came. Not that he regretted Mimi and Arianna coming into their lives, no, it was the best feeling. But these days, they were busy solving one problem or the other or spending time with their women that it was becoming hard to get a one on one time with each other.
âThat is good, but what about the rabbits? What do I do with them?!â He asked.
âFeed them to Samson!â Marcel hollered back.
âWhat?!â Victor was horrified, as he stared at the cute things his cousin wanted to feed to that ferocious lion called Samson.
He thought Marcel had changed, but that doesnât seem to be the case. He was still as blackhearted as ever and there was no way on earth he was preparing a feast for the lion. However, what was he going to with thirty-something bunnies? He hasnât exactly thought of it when he purchased them.
Marcel didnât wait for his chauffeur to drive him this time and got into his Sienna, driving to Leonâs place. He kept tabs on Arianna and so far, there was no cause for alarm. She was perfectly safe.
However, as Marcel drove on, he discovered that he was being tailed and that made him frown. Was it his father? Was he still unsatisfied with todayâs result? Or was it someone else â someone that wanted to harm him?
Marcel was already reaching for the roof of his car where he hide one of the many guns in the car when the car tailing him suddenly took off. The car didnât have a plate number hence Marcel wasnât able to memorize it, however, he would make sure to get to the bottom of this.
Thanks to the little creepy incident, Marcel was a lot more careful and he made sure that he wasnât followed when he reached Leonâs place. He would rather die than bring danger to Arianna.
âArianna,â .
The thought of meeting her brought a smile to his lips. So when he packed properly, he stepped out and met one of the soldiers come to meet him instead of the one he placed in charge of his womanâs safety.
âWhere is Luca?â He asked.
