Chapter 109 These Two Vicious Women Alexander narrowed his eyes and looked at his phone. Seeing the photos of Annalise and Julian having fun on the speedboat, he said softly. âAre you saying that Annalise is turning a blind eye?â
That might be true. Annalise had grown up in the countryside and had not seen much of the world. If she could marry a prince charming like Julian Parks, of course, she would endure all kinds of unfairness. Moreover, she and Julian had signed a marriage certificate. In the eyes of the law, she was Julian Parksâs wife.
Alexander had underestimated her.
âAt first, I thought that she had a strong personality. When faced with such a situation, I assumed she would rather return to the village than suffer in silence. I didnât expect her to be so smart!â
He looked up at Abigail. âAbigail, your cousin is not a simple woman. You might not have understood who she is.â
âHow could I not? She lived in my house for a whole year,â Abigail immediately said. âI know what sheâs capable of. She did grow up in my distant relativeâs house. Everything sheâs achieved so far was based on luck.â
Alexander scoffed again. âNo, when I said that you donât understand her, Iâm not referring to her ability, but her personality! You said that sheâs aggressive and stupid. You underestimate her too much. Sheâs far smarter than you think. She knows whatâs more important. This is interesting!â
Abigail felt even more upset.
She thought she knew Annalise very well. She thought Annalise would dump Julian when she saw his photo with Lianne. It should have been like when she had caught Abigail and Benjamin together. She had dumped Benjamin back then.
Sure enough, there were all kinds of double standards. At that time, Annalise was very assertive. But now that she met a prince like Julian Parks, she was kneeling to lick his boots without any shred of dignity. Abigail wanted to see how long that could last.
As she thought about it, she asked Alexander, âAlexander, were Julian and Lianne really a couple?â
Alexander looked up. âHow would I know?â
Everyone said Julian and Lianne were compatible, but the two had never interacted much.
Besides, if they were indeed a couple, what did Annalise have to do with it?
Alexander wasnât sure why his beloved Julian gave up on a woman like Lianne. Was it because he couldnât win her over, or was he afraid the Blake familyâs internal strife would affect his status?
*Julian, I donât understand you anymore,â Alexander muttered.
Abigail looked at Alexanderâs expression and felt even more upset. He was handsome and capable, and even Tony liked him. But what was the use? He was still an illegitimate child. As long as Samuel was alive, he would always side with Julian.
As she thought about it, a twinkle suddenly flashed across her eyes. She looked around and said to Alexander in a low voice, âAlexander, I have an idea.â
âIf you have something to say, say it. Donât beat around the bush.â Alexander hated it when Abigail played smart in front of him.
Immediately, Abigail said tentatively, âSamuelâs health hasnât been good. I think he wonât live for long.â
As she spoke, she paid attention to the changes in Alexanderâs expression.
Seeing that Alexander did not seem angry, she became bolder and said, âIf Samuel dies from an illness, Julian will have no one to support him. You will have a better chance of winning, right?â
Alexander suddenly stood up and looked at Abigail with a cold expression. His voice was chilling.
âAbigail Barton, if I find out that you have such thoughts about Samuel again, youâd better leave the Parks family immediatelyâ
â1. Abigail was furious.
When Alexander left the villa, Abigail kicked the chair angrily, causing the foot of the chair to chafe against the ground and creak.
She said angrily, âWho am I doing this for?â
âHey, why are you throwing a tantrum?â Layla happened to walk in. When she saw Abigail kicking the chair, her face was filled with displeasure.
Laylaâs tone implied that Abigail had no right to throw a tantrum.
âMom, Iâm not throwing a tantrum. Iâm just⦠Sigh, forget it. Iâll stop talking. Itâs fine,â Abigail said.
âNo, you have to tell me everything.â Layla sat on the sofa and looked at Abigail, waiting for her to explain.
âLâ¦â
âSpeak!â Laylaâs voice suddenly became stern.
Abigail was so frightened that she almost knelt.
She gritted her teeth and sat down beside Layla.
Layla moved aside in disgust. She thought to herself, âIf it werenât for the fact that this Horington girl was somewhat capable, she would never have had the chance to marry my son.â
Couldnât she see the disparity in their statuses?
How could she dare to throw a tantrum in the Parksâ residence?
If she didnât teach her a lesson now and curb her arrogance, what would happen in the future?
Wouldnât she start shitting on everyone else?
Abigail frowned and explained in a low voice, âMom, I⦠I just feel that Samuel wonât live long. Anyway, at his age, I was thinking that if Samuel doesnât live long, Julian will lose his greatest support.
Alexander is so capable. He can crush Julian then.â
âYouâre a traitor!â Layla shouted.
Abigail lowered her head in fear and said, âI know I was wrong. I wonât think that way again.â
âDo you have a specific plan for this matter?â Layla suddenly asked.
Abigail looked at Layla in surprise.
Layla waved her finger at Abigail and said in a low voice, âWomen have to plan ahead for themselves.
Only the wives of rich husbands have status. I wonât hide it from you. I was a mistress, Back then, my status was even more inferior than yours.â
Abigail was even more shocked. She did not expect Layla to tell her this.
After all, Layla had always acted high and mighty in front of her.
Layla added, âBack then, my parents couldnât even pay for my university fees. I was still working part-
time.. How could I be worthy of Tony? However, I was ruthless. To consolidate my status, I found a way to get pregnant with Alexander. There were some other things, but I wonât list them in detail.â
Looking at Abigailâs shocked expression, Layla said, âThereâs no need to be shocked. Smart women have to know how to plan for themselves. Since you intend to plan for Alexander, Iâll tell you everything.
All these years, although Samuel didnât give up his power and forcefully sent Tony to the overseas market, we tried our best to open up the overseas market.
âAs long as that old man dies, we can surely push Alexander to the top.
âI thought he wouldnât be able to live for long. I didnât expect him to have such a long life.â
Abigail did not expect Layla and the others to have ventured into the overseas market. She thought they did not have much of a presence overseas.
With that thought in mind, Abigail was suddenly filled with confidence.
No matter what, she and Alexander were legally married. They were in the same boat. Even if Alexander was unwilling to touch her, as long as he took over, she would be the real matriarch of the family.
When the time came, even if Alexander wanted to divorce her, according to the law, she would still get a substantial amount of assets.
After all, she played a part in his rise to power. Of course, she had to have a share of the money.
