Greg wanted to take away everything that Ethan had and prided himself onâhis money, power, family, all of it.
Only then would the appearance of âThe Art of Yin and Yang Harmonyâ not be in vain!
But the strength of the Locke family was just too overwhelming, and aside from resorting to murder, Greg felt somewhat at a loss as to where to start.
Greg glanced at Brandon; how to take down Ethan now depended on what Brandon could dig up.
While Brandon was chatting with Adrian and the others, he felt Gregâs gaze, hurriedly turned his head, and flashed a sycophantic smile.
âMr. Jensen, do you have any further instructions?â
âNo, carry on with your conversation.â
âAlright.â
Watching Brandon turn back to continue chatting, Greg couldnât help but feel surprised, thinking to himself that the kid was surprisingly perceptive; he had only given him a glance, and yet heâd sensed it.
Perhaps it was a natural sensitivity. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Greg thought it over but decided not to dwell on it, and after talking with everyone for a while, Spencer arrived as well.
Then Adrian arranged a banquet, and as they ate and talked, they even mentioned the vegetable base project.
Upon learning that Greg had left a share for him, Spencerâs face lit up with excitement, and he gave a thumbs-up, praising:
âBrother Greg, youâre a true bro!â
âCut it out, hurry up and help find the plot of landâthatâs what really matters.â
Spencer laughed and said, âLook for Alfredo. Heâs the most familiar with this kind of thing. You may not think much of the business he runs, but heâs got quite a few resources.â
Adrian nodded and said, âAlright, Iâll give him a call later tonight.â
â¦
Inside the managerâs office at Green Grass Real Estate.
Alfredo sat on the sofa, daring only to perch on half of it, with every muscle in his body tense, betraying extreme nervousness.
Across from him sat a middle-aged man with hard, chiseled features and a scar above his eyebrow that made him look quite fierce.
It was Jay, who had just faced disappointment with Greg.
âI heard you sold Dreamscape Garden to Greg?â
âYes, at that time heâ¦â
Jay suddenly looked up, glaring coldly at him, and said, âI donât want to know how you sold it to him. What I want to know is if he has any weaknesses.â
Hearing his words, Alfredoâs face twisted with distress, and he helplessly said, âBig Brother Jay, I really donât know.
I merely sold him a garden. How would I know what kind of person he is?â
âBullshit!â
Jay angrily retorted, âYou claimed you didnât even know what kind of person he was, and yet you dared to make a deal with him, dared to sell the garden to him?â
âBig Brother Jay, that garden was a hot potato in my hands; I couldnât wait to sell it off.
As long as there was a buyer, that was good enough for me. As for what kind of person the buyer was, that wasnât my business to care about.â
Alfredo now felt so desperate he wished he could die. Selling Dreamscape Garden not only resulted in a big monetary loss but also brought about so much trouble.
If he had known it would end like this, he would never have sold it, not even if he were beaten to death.
Jay realized that Alfredo might indeed be ignorant on the matter, but he still couldnât help feeling discontent.
He had just transferred a million to Gregâs account and realized he would have to give him a wide berth in the future.
If he couldnât bring Greg down, how would he release this pent-up rage?
âAlfredo Harrison, mark my words, if you donât give me some useful information today, by tomorrow Iâll make sure your Green Grass Real Estate doesnât sell a single property. Do you believe me?â
âI believe you, but⦠I genuinely donât know anything.â
Just as Alfredo felt so cornered that he almost wished to hang himself, his phone suddenly rang.
He picked up his mobile and his face immediately underwent a drastic change.
Jay, a wily character himself, saw the change in expression and knew something was amiss, and asked, âWhoâs calling?â
âItâs⦠Itâs Greg Jensen.â
âPick it up and put it on speaker, letâs see what he wants from you.â
Facing Jay Brentâs icy gaze, Alfredo Harrison felt rather helpless and had no choice but to answer the call as instructed.
âHello, Mr. Harrison, this is Greg Jensen.â
âMr. Greg, hello, what can I do for you?â
âWell, Iâm looking to buy a piece of land, preferably agricultural farmland. Iâm planning to grow some thingsâ¦â
As soon as Jay Brent heard that Greg Jensen wanted to buy land, he immediately perked up and silently mouthed: âAgree to it!â
Alfredo Harrison, with no alternative, said, âMr. Greg, it happens that a friend of mine has some land that fits the bill. How about I contact him to see if heâs willing to sell?â
âHaha, thatâs great, talk to him. I donât mind paying a little extra.â
âAlright.â
After hanging up the phone, Alfredo Harrison breathed a sigh of relief and said with a bitter face, âBoss Brent, I said exactly what you told me, butâ¦I donât have any land to sell.
What if Greg Jensen comes to me wanting to buy land? Where am I supposed to find it for him?â
Jay Brent chuckled and said, âI might not have any, but I do.â
âYou have landâ¦â
Seeing his expression, Alfredo Harrison knew that this old fox must be up to no good, but he didnât dare to say anything. All he could do was plead with a bitter face,
âBoss Brent, I canât afford to offend anyone you just call âsomeone,â I just beg you not to drag me into this. My little fortune wonât be enough to cover the mayhem you two could cause.â
Jay Brent glanced at him, sneered, and said, âDonât worry, Iâll have someone else take care of it. You just introduce him to Greg Jensen, and then youâre out of the picture. Got it?â
âGot it.â
Alfredo Harrison nodded woodenly.
Jay Brent broke into a big laugh, clapped him on the shoulder, and turned to leave.
â¦
In this era, land was indeed valuable, but that was mainly commercial land. Agricultural land wasnât worth much unless it could be converted into commercial property.
Especially in places like Jamae City, where the economy was underdeveloped, agricultural land was dirt cheap.
âBig bro Greg, I told you Alfredo Harrison had some information, didnât I?â
âMmm, he said a friend of his has some land. Heâs going to ask and then get back to me.â
After speaking, Greg Jensen couldnât help but frown slightly.
Spencer Burley asked curiously, âBig bro Greg, why arenât you happy although you found a land deal?â
Greg Jensen shook his head and said, âI just felt that Alfredo Harrisonâs tone was a bit off just now.â
âWhat could be off? You pay for the land, and the other party sells it to you. Simple.â
âYeah, thatâs true.â
Greg Jensen felt that perhaps he was overthinking it.
â¦
After returning to his company office, Jay Brent immediately called his manager over and asked, âHas the transfer for the land weâre selling to Wallace Carter been completed?â
âNot yet, but theyâve already paid the deposit,â replied Manager Zhang.
Upon hearing this, Jay Brent immediately beamed with delight and said softly, âTomorrow, youâll meet someone. Sell that piece of land to them.â
âSell it to that person?â
Manager Zhang was confused and asked blankly, âWhat about Mr. Carterâs transaction?â
Jay Brent sneered and said, âProceed as usual with Wallace Carter. Just make a fake set of documents for this deal.â
Manager Zhang immediately panicked and said anxiously, âBoss, thatâs fraud.â
âAre you stupid? Once we get the money, youâll just go to the supermarket chain Iâve started in the south and stay there for a couple of years. Once things cool down, you can come back, right?â
âButâ¦â
Seeing that Manager Zhang was still reluctant, Jay Brentâs eyebrows shot up as he said sternly, âEnough talk. Just tell me if youâre going to do it or not!â
