It's moments like these when I wish I was a normal werewolf. Where I could go to school with my friends, train with the pack, or take part in the monthly fighting tournaments that crown the fiercest warriors in our pack champions.

But I can't because I'd probably kill someone.

You see, I'm special. I'm faster, stronger and more powerful than even my father, who is the alpha of my pack, and I can't control it. He calls it a gift from the moon goddess. I call it my curse.

Where my friends go to public school with humans, I'm home schooled to ensure I don't shift and kill someone. Where my friends train with the rest of the pack, I train with my father and the warriors of the pack, so I don't fatally injure someone who won't heal as quickly. Whilst my friends are all taking part in the fighting tournament, I'm made to watch with my mother and father in the area designated for the Alpha and his family.

Because I'm a danger to others.

I watch as my best friend Sophia sends another devastating punch into the face of the her opponent, the ever so arrogant pack heartthrob Jake Scott. His nose is bent at a funny angle, and blood is spilling from his nose like a waterfall. But his eyes are black and murderous, his wolf fully surfaced as his fangs are bared at Sophia.

"She's kicking his ass." I whisper excitedly to my mum, who watches on with a smirk on her lips. "I so hope she kicks his..."

"Watch your language." My dad grumbles, his eyes on the fight, and I turn to watch the pair of them square up against one another inside the pit. "But, off the record, I hope she kicks his ass too."

Jake lands a solid kick to Sophia's stomach, who doubles over. I can feel my legs forcing me to stand up, and I can feel my wolf guiding me towards the arena, but not before a strong hand wraps it's way around my wrist. My eyes snap to my dad's and his eyes are black. "Don't."

The power in is voice has me sitting down and cowering away, his alpha tone putting me in place. Whilst I'm faster and stronger than my dad, his voice still carries a weight with my wolf, and she still bows to him.

So I sit down, dig my nails into the flesh on my palm, and watch on with bated breath.

And then Sophia takes Jake by surprise and tackles him to the floor, wrapping her legs around his neck and squeezing, her eyes glowing gold with the extra help from her wolf. Jake's face goes red, and even with the strength of his wolf, he can't unlock her legs.

So he taps the dirt and grants her the victory.

I discreetly pump my fist on my lap, and smile brightly when Sophia locks eyes with mine. "You go biotch!" I mind link to her, and she laughs out loud, blowing me a kiss before pushing her sweaty hair away from her face.

"I hope she wins tho whole tournament this time." I mumble, my fingers fiddling in my lap. Last month she got to the semi-finals, but lost to my father's favourite prospect for chief warrior, Lyle Clay. "She's definitely the best fighter left in."

Because Lyle won the last tournament, he's unable to take part in this one, as a way of making the tournament anyones game, boosting the confidence of the pack members. The winners of the tournaments get special priviledges for the month leading up to the next one, so the stakes to win are never higher.

My father stands and raises his hands, a hush falling over the crowd. "The winner of the second semi-final is Sophia Harrison!" Cheers erupt from the crowd, and my father raises his hands again so he can continue talking. "We'll see her take on Violetta Sparks tomorrow evening in the final..."

His voice falls short, and his eyes glaze over, as he mindlinks someone in the pack. I send a worried glance to my mum, who's eyes are glazed over also.

Eventually he snaps out of it and looks out towards his concerned pack members. "Sorry to cut this short, but can all the contestents who can still fight please join me at the south border. It seems we have some, uninvited guests."

My dad sent me and my mum home, and told us to lock all the doors, not that a lock would be able to stop the strength of a wolf.

I begged him to let me go, to test my control. I promised him I wouldn't shift into my wolf, but he silenced my plea's with an aggressive growl.

I decided not to push my luck and went home.

Now I'm pacing in my room, my nose thick with the metallic scent of blood and dirt, and my ears picking us the faint sounds of claws and teeth raking through fur, flesh and bone.

Along with being stronger and faster, I have better senses too, including smell and hearing.

My mother, despite being Luna, can't hear the fighting, or smell the bloodshed. She's lucky. Because all it's doing is sending my wolf into a frenzy in my head.

As I head downstairs, the strong, pungent smell of rogues hits me from the east. It's on the opposite side of the territory, where my dad currently isn't, and the pack houses containing the children are.

I clench my fists, and breathe deeply through my nose in an attempt to calm my wild wolf.

"I'll mindlink my dad, he can go. I can't control you, and you're dangerous."  I say to her, and she growls in response, her agitation increasing by the second.

"We need to do this now, we're ten minutes closer than he is and you know we're the best chance the pups have got."  She snarls, and the more the talks to me, the more she makes sense.

"Okay fine." I say out loud and head back up to my window quietly, pushing it open and jumping out.

My bare feet sink into the dirt surrounding my house and I set off sprinting toward the east, where the scent of rogues getting stronger the closer I get. I can make out at least seven seperate smells, all of them combining to make one overpowering mixture of sour milk and rotten meat. I've taken on three, sometimes four of my father's warriors at the same time, handling them with ease; seven makes me feel slightly apprehensive.

I have no time to think about it though, because the second I sprint into the clearing a few miles behind the pup house, I see them. All of them have shifted, their matted fur coated with dirt and dried blood and their sharp teeth bared at me.

A low, guttural growl emits from deep within my throat, and I can feel my fangs elongating from my gums. Because I'm the daughter of an alpha, my voice carries power, and three of them step back slightly, their heads almost bowing.

One of them however, charges at me, his teeth snapping violently as his jaws aim for my throat.

I crouch low, my body weight on my back foot, and give Shiva some control. My hand snaps up and catches him by the throat, my claws digging deep into his neck, and I squeeze. His jaw are snapping desperately, a whine coming out of him mouth. I apply more pressure, until the wolf goes limp in my hand, and I toss it's dead body at the feet of his friends.

"Give me control!" Shiva shouts in my head and I comply, letting her take full control as my anger floods through my veins, my lust for their blood controlling me.

I feel a warm sensation as I hear the snapping of bones and the movement of joints, my body ending up on all fours. Thick, wiry white hair grows out of my arms, and my nose elongates into a snout, my eyes still focused on the rogues. Shiva lets out a dangerous howl, my body completely tranfsormed into my wolf.

Two of the rogues back away completely at the sight of me, because I'm nearly twice their size. I can feel the power of my wolf surge through me, and I take a back seat from the fighting as they start to advance. "I'll leave this to you, Shiva."

"My pleasure." She growls in response, and throws her body at the first rogue, her teeth aimed at his neck.

In less than two minutes she's killed all but one of them, ripped them apart, limb by limb, with her jaws, their eyes lifeless and dull as they stare blankly into the woods.

The last one didn't even attempt to fight, and he's currently edging away back towards the forest surrounding us.

"Leave him." I say, and I try to take power back from Shiva. "He's running away..."

"No." She says firmly, refusing to give me control. "He needs to die."

"Stop." I scream, but it's no use, because she's already set off after him, and I can feel her need to kill running through her head.

My dad is going to kill me.

We're nearing the edge of pack territory, the rogue no longer with a strong lead. Shiva has caught up to him, her teeth nipping at his ankles. He crosses over our borders and into the territory next to us, but Shiva doesn't stop, her legs powering after him until her jaws wrap around his ankle and snap shut, severing his limb.

The rogue lets out a howl of pain, but she doesn't stop, ripping his foot clean off before releasing it and latching her jaws around his neck, biting down hard and killing him instantly.

"You're tresspassing, wolf!" A voice behind us shouts, and Shiva's head whips round. Stood behind us is a man I haven't seen before, with a scent I've never smelt before. He stands over six feet tall, with coffee coloured skin and hair thats curly on top but shaved on the sides. His arms are covered in tattoos, and his eyes are gold becasue of his wolf.

"Shiva, let's go home." I urge, and try to get a hand on the reigns to pull away. But she doesn't let me, and only growls at the man, her teeth bared violently towards him.

"The alpha is on his way." The man's voice states, his voice hard. "He doesn't take kindly to wolves on his territory." Shiva takes a threatening step forward, and the man growls lowly, his teeth bared. "I dare you."

Shiva takes that as an invitation and jumps, her body pinning the man's to the floor.

"Shiva!" I scream, and she hesitates enough for me to retain the reigns and pull back before her teeth sink into his throat.

"ENOUGH!"

My blood runs cold in my veins and the delicious smell of pine, sandlewood and man washes over me, relaxing my muscles and making Shiva freeze. His voice is smoother than silk, rich and deep, and that, mixed with his scent, has my body melting into a puddle of hormones.

I turn around and lock eyes with the alpha, his red eyes look shocked before returning cold and murderous, the anger radiating of his body like warmth from a fire. I feel like I've been punched in the stomach, because his rejection of our bond leaves me feeling breathless. Even though Shiva was about to kill one of his pack, I still expected the mate bond to show more of a pull.

"Shift." My mate growls, his voice low and furious. I stand frozen in place, my eyes drinking in his appearance. He's tall and muscular, with a mop of dark brown hair sitting messily atop his head, and a thin layer of stubble on his chiselled jaw. His body is muscular, his biceps pressing against his thin shirt.

"Shift, before I make you."
