Livianaâs POV
The week passed by quick and Iâve met all 5 of the new packs. Most of them accepted me as their Alpha although a few decided to go their own way which I respected.
I wasnât one to force anyone to be or stay in my pack.
The pack territory grew even wider and the pact members grew in number by at least half.
Iâve also been busy training myself and my warriors these past few days and unfortunately, Grey has been pestering me non stop.
âKeep your guard up!â I commanded. They did as they were told.
âYou are training to defend your families and this pack. Do not disappoint them!â I reminded.
âYes, Alpha!â they said in unison.
âYou are at your best in your wolf form but as a warrior, you should know how to fight with your bare hands tooâ I said.
âYes, Alpha!â they replied in unison.
âYou will continue to practice hand to hand combat until you are able to compete with each otherâs wolves in your human formâ I continued.
âYes, Alpha!â they answered in unison again.
I motioned Alex to continue on with the training as I supervised and even trained with them.
After hours of intense training, I flopped down my bed after my shower after hours of training again. It seemed that day by day, I grew stronger and faster.
It mustâve been because of the intense training but my gut said otherwise.
âAre you still awake?â Grey mind linked me.
âNoâ I replied.
âPleaseâ he pleaded. I raised a brow.
âWhat do you need? â I replied.
âYouâ he replied. I sighed.
âPlease, Livianaâ he begged. I sighed.
âMeet me at the riverâ I said and cut the link.
I got a set of clothes before taking off to the woods and into the river. When I arrived, he was already there and he sensed me immediately.
I shifted back by the bushes and wore my clothing.
Something seemed off about Grey.
I approached him and once I got close enough he stepped closer and laid his head on my shoulder weakly.
âWhat wrong with you?â I asked him but he didnât answer.
I sensed grief in him. He was grieving.
âIf you donât tell me, I wonât know whatâs wrongâ I told him. He sighed.
âItâs my late motherâs death anniversaryâ he said with a hint of pain in his voice. I was a little surprised at the revelation.
I was never interested in anything about the royal family so it was clearly news to me.
Instead of trying to cheer him up with words, I caressed his back slightly. He then pulled me closer to him by the waist and wrapped me in a hug before burying his face into my neck.
I didnât stop him. Instead, I hugged him back acknowledging his vulnerability. I felt bad for him.
I looked up at the full moon.
I suddenly remembered that there will be a b***d moon soon.
Itâs every werewolfâs favorite night.
We feel our strongest during a b***d moon.
âHey. You okay now?â I asked Grey softly but instead of answering me, he just buried his face on my neck more and pulled me even closer.
I started to touch his hair, caressing it.
âI like this side of yours betterâ I blurted out. He slowly looked at me and I chuckled.
âYouâre always so demanding and possessive. Itâs not a good mate impressionâ I said chuckling.
âIf you were on my shoes, you would be too after being constantly pushed away by your other halfâ he frowned. I felt guilty.
âLook, I donât want to hurt you or your or mine. But the thought of having a mate with your status is not easy knowing you are fully capable of taking me away from my pack if you want toâ I admitted. He stared at me listening.
âI promised my fatherâ I told him.
âI promised Iâd protect the pack whatever the circumstances are. And I wonât be able to do that if one day you suddenly decide to take me away with youâ I said. He cupped my face.
âIs that really the only reason why youâve been pushing me away?â he asked softly. I nodded.
âI understandâ he said and put his chin on my shoulder.
âI will do no such thing. I will not take you away from your people. Thatâs if you start accepting meâ he said and looked in my eyes again.
âOnly if you prove that you are really wonât take me awayâ I said. He nodded.
âOkayâ he said kissing my forehead.
âWill you accept me then?â he asked.
âYesâ I said. He smiled.
âIâll do everything I can if it means earning your trust and being accepted as your mateâ he said.
Then, his gaze turned to my lips.
He leaned in and our lips met.
It was slow and passionate.
Not like the first one we had.
This one was slow and sweet.
He cupped my face with his other hand while the other remained on my waist.
âAlpha, where are you?â Edmond mind linked me.
I pulled away from the k**s and Grey g*****d annoyed.
âWhatâs wrong?â I asked. Grey just looked at me curiously. He must have sensed that I was mind linking.
âA group of rogues attacked one of our warriorsâ he replied. My eyes darkened.
âWhat?!â I growled and even Grey looked surprised.
âHeâs in the pack hospital now. Heâs in a really bad conditionâ he said. I sighed in frustration massaging the bridge of my nose.
âIâll be there soonâ I replied.
âOkay, Alphaâ he said and we cut the link.
âI need to goâ I told Grey. He looked disappointed.
âWhy?â he asked.
âOne of my warriors got attacked by a group of roguesâ I explained. His disappointment turned to concern.
âHis in the pack hospital in bad condition. I need to be thereâ I told him. He nodded in understanding.
âOkay. Atleast let me take you thereâ he said. I pursed my lips and just nodded.
He shifted into his wolf and motioned me to get on and we headed back and to the pack hospital.
The guards were pretty shocked to see me with the intimidating foreign wolf but they did not dare ask questions.
I got off infront of the pack hospital and went infront of Grey and putting my forehead on his.
âThank youâ I said.
âYouâre welcomeâ he replied through mind link.
Then I turned my back and headed inside.
