Liviana’s POV

“Edmond, can you call out for an emergency meeting with the pack leaders after lunch?” I said and Edmond nodded.

“Yes, Alpha” he said and stood up from his seat and left.

Luan stood beside me and turned my swivel chair to him before lowering himself to my eye level.

“You’re holding the meeting so soon? I expected you’d do it after dinner” he said.

“The sooner I tell them, the better” I said with a shrug.

“Okay” Luan said with a cheerful smile and gave me a quick peck on the lips making me freeze on the spot.

I blushed furiously as I looked away.

“Stop flirting with me. I’m supposed to be working” I said as I blushed and Luan chuckled.

“Okay then. I’ll sit there and behave while you do your job” he said and walked back to his seat.

I sighed and continued to go through the papers on my desk.

I need to finish as much work as I can to be able to get ahead of the paperworks.

It’s better to work om these things in advance.

But it’s a lot more difficult today because of Luan’s presence.

In the past, it was still bearable.

But now….

It’s like every single second, the mate bond is tugging on both of us.

I closed my eyes in frustration.

I need to get it together.

I knew this would disrupt work but I didn’t know the mate bond would be this troublesome.

Although I really am happy.

I won’t deny that atleast.

Time passed by quickly and I had my lunch with Luan in my office.

After that, we prepared to go for the pack leaders’ meeting.

Luan held my hand and lightly squeezed it.

“You okay?” he asked softly. I gave him an assuring smile.

“You sound like we committed an unforgivable sin” I said and forced a chuckle.

“We didn’t. But I know how much you value your people and respect their opinions. But I also know that you will stand by your own choices for your own life” he said and I smiled.

I placed my other hand on his face.

“It was bound to happen. I always denied it but now that it’s come to this, I want to face the consequences together” I said.

Luan pulled me to him for a hug.

“Together” he whispered and kissed the top of my head.

Then, there was a knock on the door and Edmond came in.

“Alpha, everyone is ready for the meeting now” he said and I nodded.

Luan intertwined our hands and we went out side by side as we held each other’s hands.

We made our way to the meeting room.

We stood outside for a moment.

I took a deep breath and entered the room with Luan.

Everyone’s head turned to look at us.

Just like earlier, there was a sudden change in the air and the pack leaders’ expressions turned into shock as we walked to the front.

For the first time in a while, I felt so nervous that no matter how much I tried to assure myself that it’s okay, I can’t seem to get rid of the nervousness that I was feeling.

Luan let go of my hand and wrapped his arm on my waist instead.

I felt a sudden sense of relief at his mere touch.

We stood in front and I kept my head up.

“Take a seat” I said and everyone looked at each other stunned but still did as they were told.

After they sat down, I didn’t.

I remained standing and so did Luan.

“I’ll get straight to the point” I started.

“By now, you must have already sensed it” I continued. I kept my voice firm. Full of superiority.

But it was just a front.

Deep inside, I was shaking.

Not in fear.

But in worry.

“And yes, I, Liviana Crest, Crescent Moon’s Alpha, YOUR Alpha is officially marked and mated”I said and paused before glancing at Luan.

“To Lunar’s first prince, Luan Grey” I finished the statement and looked at everyone.

I saw their stunned and confused expressions.

“Yes, I remember what I have told you about my mate bond with the prince. But unexpected things happen. I know that you might feel worried about the pack considering that my mate is in fact of royal b***d and is bound to inherit the throne at some point and when that day comes, I’ll need to be by his side” I said.

“But I believe we still have a lot of time and that doesn’t mean that I will simply leave the pack so carelessly” I continued.

“I’m still your Alpha. I do not plan on leaving anytime soon and even my mate agrees to this set up” I assured them.

“I…” I took a deep breath.

“I’m sorry if you feel that I have disappointed you” I said and lowered my head apologetically.

I felt Luan do the same beside me.

It was a quiet moment.

“Alpha Liviana”

I lifted my head up and saw the pack leaders’ smiling at me.

“We truly congratulate you for finding your mate and finally accepting the mate bond” the Gamma said.

“We will continue to be in your care and in Prince Luan’s, Alpha” the Omega said and everyone stood up and bowed their heads at us.

I looked at them stunned.

Then, I smiled.

“I will…” I stopped and glanced at Luan.

“We will continue to do our best” I said and bowed back at them.

I felt relieved.

And at peace.

In the end, everyone stayed faithful to my leadership and accepted me.

Us.

The meeting ended with positive feedbacks and finally, everyone was able to casually approach Luan to simply get to know him.

Not as Prince Luan Grey of Lunar.

But as my mate.

After that, everyone left except Dante, Luan and I.

“Liviana, can I talk to you for a moment? Just the two of us” he said and glanced at Luan.

I glanced at Luan and he got the message immediately.

“I’ll go to El and wait for you” he said and gave me a k**s on my forehead.

Luan left the room and I faced Dante.

Neither of us talked for a moment.

I didn’t know what to tell him exactly.

I know how against he is of the idea of Luan and I completing the mate bond.

He trusted me.

But he didn’t trust Luan.

That was that.

“Liviana, I’m not mad” he started with a sigh.

Dante looked at me softly.

“I’m not mad at you. I’m only worried” he said softly and I reached out for his hand.

“I’m sorry…for making you worry. But I…I wanted this. We wanted this” I said.

Dante sighed.

“I know. It was bound to happen. It was meant to happen. But I still fear that something bad might happen” he said worried.

“I’m afraid, Liviana” he continued.

“In fact, I’m terrified” he said as he slightly squeezed my hand.

“Why would you be? I’m safe here, aren’t I? We’re safe, aren’t we?” I said trying to assure me.

“Are we really?” he said and I froze for a moment.

“Are YOU really?” he asked again and I gulped.

“What if they you guys are found out? What if you’re found out? What will happen then?” he said and I bit my lower l*p.

“I’ll have to think of something then. I won’t let anyone get their way to me. They will not bring me down. Not a fight” I said firmly.

“And I’m not losing” I said and gave him a small smile.

Dante sighed and pulled me to him for a hug.

“I can’t lose you, Liviana. I can’t….I don’t want to. I won’t…be able to handle it” he whispered to me as his hug tightened.

“I know, uncle. I know” I said as I caressed his back.

“And you won’t” I said.

We waited as Dante calmed down and got out together.

Luan was in the living room with Ellie in his lap and El and Edmond beside him.

They turned to look at us and Ellie’s eyes sparkles when she saw me.

“Livi!” she squealed and ran to me.

I lifted her up and gave her a k**s on the forehead.

“Hey, little one” I said and she giggled.

We stayed in the living room for the afternoon and watched TV together.

It was a peaceful afternoon.

After dinner, Luan and I made our way to my room so we can wash up for bed later.

Individually.

Luan and I both turned to look at Dante.

He approached Luan and eyed him seriously.

“Make sure to protect Liviana’s life with your own and love her with more than everything you have. That’s the only way I’ll let you be with my niece” he said to Luan.

I glanced at Luan and he gave Dante a small smile.

“Of course” Luan said.

Dante looked at me and lightly caressed my hair before giving Luan a nod and turning back to where he came from.

We watched as Dante walked away then Luan turned to me.

“Does that mean he accepts me?” he asked and I chuckled.

“I guess so” I said with a shrug and Luan chuckle.

“It’s about time” he said and we both laughed.

We got to our room and I let Luan shower first before I did because the last time I was the first to get out of the shower, THINGS happened.

“You sure you don’t want to shower together?” Luan asked with a wink. I rolled my eyes.

“No, thanks. Now, go” I said and pushed him in the bathroom as he pouted.

While Luan showered, I went to my closet.

Some of Luan’s clothes were already inside since we were going to share the closet from now on.

And well, the room too.

I smiled a little at the thought of being with Luan 24/7 but I mentally slapped myself for it.

Since when was I the needy one?

When did that happen.

Damn this mate bond.

I felt a sudden shiver down my spine.

“Alpha, there’s unknown men coming our way. They’re not rogues” Alex mind linked me and I immediately stood up in alert.

“I’ll be there immediately. Stay alert” I replied.

“Yes, Alpha” he replied and we cut the link.

I didn’t hesitate and opened the sliding door to the balcony then jumped and shifted mid air.

“Luan, something came up. I’ll be back as soon as I can” I mind linked Luan.

“What? Wait for me. I’ll come with you” he replied immediately.

“I can’t wait for you. You can come when you’re out but I’m already heading there” I replied and cut the link as I sprinted to the gates.

Once I got there, I saw a ton of my men on high alert and a dozen unknown men standing by a black limousine.

Their eyes turned to me and my eyes met with the one man and it immediately sent shivers down my spine.

The man raised a brow at my presence.

Alex ran up to me and handed me some clothes then my men covered me as I shifted back and slipped in the clothes.

Once I’m done, my men stood behind as I stood tall and approached the unknown men.

“Who are you and what are you doing in my pack’s territory?” I said in my Alpha tone.

The man in the front looked at me in amusement.

“A female Alpha? Interesting” he said and smirked.

My brows furrowed.

“If you’re here to cause trouble and inconvenience for my men and I, I would recommend that you leave” I said dangerously.

The man grinned.

“We will” he said.

“After we see the prince” he added.

I looked at him with my brows furrowed.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Now, leave” I said it almost in a growl.

Who are these men and how do they know of Luan?

The man’s brows furrowed and he motioned to his men.

Then they suddenly charged towards our direction.

I pushed back my men as we took a defensive stance and they shifted.

“What the fck?!” I growled.

“Watch your tone, young lady” the man growled.

I clenched my fist.

The other men with him drew their swords and aimed it at me.

My men prepared to lunge at them.

“Stand down” I commanded.

I glared at the man who I assumed is their leader.

“Who—“

“What the hell are you doing?!”

We turned and saw Luan as he made his way to us.

It seemed that he had just shifted back to his human form.

The unknown men immediately lowered their swords and kneeled at his presence.

“Your majesty” they said as Luan approached us furiously.

Then, he turned to me and his expression softened.

“Are you okay?” he asked. I nodded.

Alex approached us and he gave me another set of clothes that he held with his canines.

I took it.

“Dress up first” I said and handed Luan the clothes.

He quickly wore them then he checked my body frantically for any injury and sighed in relief when he saw nothing.

Then, he turned to look at the unknown men again and I saw his eyes glow dangerously.

“Do you know what you’re doing?!” he growled as he attacked the man who led the group.

The man looked at him calmly.

“I see” the man said with a grin then glanced at me.

“His majesty is marked and mated” the man stated and smirked.

“The King will want to know this” he said and I almost stopped breathing.
