Livianaâs POV
I met up with Blake and Katie during lunch and they both treated me like a child since last time I went home sick.
After class, I had to hurry home because Edmond had mind linked me that one of the new set of pack members had arrived already.
It didnât take long for me to arrive outside of the pack house where the new members gathered. I got down my bike and took off my helmet as Edmond approached me.
âAlphaâ he bowed to me and I gave him a nod before walking to where everyone was gathered. They all turned to me and bowed their heads in respect.
I stood before them with my head held high.
âFirst of all, Iâd like to send my condolences to all of you for your late Alphaâ I started. No one dared to meet my eye. Specially the former pack leaders of the former Alpha.
âIt was never my plan to take over your pack or harm your former Alpha but it seems he and your former pack leaders had looked down on me and brought it upon themselves and all of youâ I continued.
âI will not force you to stay with me and be part of my pack. If you feel the need to leave and find another pack to be in, approach me now or some other day. I will be in my office to hear your sentiments. But if you wish to stay in my care, I will gladly be your Alpha and I shall treat you like any other member of my pack with careâ I said.
âRaise your heads and meet my eyesâ I commanded. They complied and met my eye.
âI, Alpha Liviana Crest shall protect you like how Iâve protected my pack members all these years. If you wish to join the Crescent Moon Pack, please come forward and I shall accept you as my ownâ I said.
They all started stepping forward and kneeling before me. A smile formed my lips in satisfaction.
âAll I ask from you is your loyalty and nothing else. With that, I shall protect all of you at any cost even my own lifeâ I said and they bowed their heads again in respect.
âRise all of youâ I commanded and everyone rose to their feet.
âWelcome to the packâ I said with a smile. The pact leaders clapped and everyone else followed.
âGet them settled down by this month if possible. Tell me if there will be any problems and Iâll make sure to see to itâ I mind linked Edmond. He nodded and I went inside to my room.
I went to the bathroom and took a long cold shower, scrubbing my body once more since I am reminded by the b***d of the former Alphas Iâve battled with.
I changed to training clothes and trained by myself to distract myself from everything. Iâm still grieving over my fatherâs death but I shall not lose myself in the process.
I need to be stronger to protect my pack. I cannot slack off nor show any signs of weakness to them. Not even when Iâve lost my only b***d relative shall I falter.
âMateâ someone mind linked me. I rolled my eyes.
Luan Grey again.
âCanât you just leave me alone? Thereâs so many more she-wolves out thereâ I replied.
âNo. My wolf only wants you. You canât do anything about it and I will not let you reject usâ he stated. I sighed in frustration.
I sat down to meditate.
I immediately saw Amaris and she immediately glared at me keeping her distance.
âAmarisâ I softly called her. She growled at me still upset by how Iâm pushing away our mate.
âIâm sorry, okay? I donât think I have a choiceâ I told her.
âYouâre being selfish, Liviana. You know I need our mate. We both do. But why do you keep doing this?â Amaris whined.
âRight now isnât the time for a mate, Amarid. Also, heâs a prince. If we accept him, he can do whatever he wants and take us away from the packâ I explained. She whimpered.
âIâm sorry, Amaris. Right now, our mate is a threat between us and the packâ I told her. She turned her back on me and run off. I sighed.
I went back to reality.
I stood up and headed back inside.
âMeet me by the riverâ I mind linked Grey.
I went to my room and got changed to a set of new clothes.
I ran to the woods still in my human form until I reached the river.
I was the first to arrive. No sign of Grey just yet.
I went to the platform and looked into the water staring into my reflection and the moonâs.
I looked up and closed my eyes for a moment.
âLivianaâ I opened my eyes and looked around. Itâs that womanâs voice again.
I saw no one else.
Then I heard rustling and smelled the familiar scent from Grey. Soon enough, I saw him. He approached me in the platform and his wolf form and then shifted to his human form in front of my eyes.
I looked away and turned my back at him in his naked state. I heard him chuckle.
âWhy donât you look at me and enjoy the view?â he teased. I smirked in disbelief.
âIf you donât get dressed, this conversation will end even before it startsâ I told him. He then sighed.
After a few momentsâ¦
âYou can look nowâ he told me. I faced him and he was already wearing clothes.
âWe need to talkâ I said. He grinned and stepped towards me.
âItâs about timeâ he said and stood only a meter away from me.
âI canât be your mateâ I told him and he immediately stopped.
âLook, Iâm really sorry but I donât think Iâm ready for a mate yet. Let alone a royalty as a mateâ I said.
âWhy?â he asks with brows furrowed. I sighed.
âIâm the Alpha of Crescent Moon Pack. I have been since 2 years ago. My priority is to protect it and nothing else. I donât think having a mate is what I need right nowâ I said straightforwardly. He snarled at me pissed.
âI donât think you have a choice, woman. I am your mate whether you want me or not and you are mineâ he said. He approached me with his glowing green eyes.
âLook here, woman â he said with gritted teeth as he held me by the waist. I met his gaze bravely.
âYou canât keep pushing me away like this and you canât reject me either. I will not accept it and youâll still be stuck with me. You are my mate and I am your yoursâ he said in a dangerous tone. I looked at him with a challenging gaze.
âYou canât do thisâ I said angrily.
âI can and I will. Until you finally accept that weâre mates, Iâll keep pestering you wherever and wheneverâ he told me with his jaw clenched and his grip tighter.
âSo do yourself a favor and stop resisting unless you want to see my bad side. Because, baby, Iâm sure you wonât like it when Iâm madâ he warned.
I gulped and looked at him in disbelief.
âWhy are you doing this? Iâm not of your level. You can simply find another mate. One thatâs the same rank as yoursâ I said. He scoffed in disbelief.
âI donât care about anyone else. Itâs you that I want. No one else. You are mine no matter what your rank isâ he said looking at me straight into my eyes.
I sighed in defeat and his grip on my waist softened as he placed his head on my shoulder.
âThe faster you accept me, the more it gets easierâ he said.
âShouldnât you go find someone more worthy like someone of royal b***d?â I kept suggesting.
âStop saying thatâ he said annoyed. I sighed again.
âI know you want me just as much your wolf does. You just havenât realized it yetâ he told me.
âYou donât know thatâ I argued. He sighed.
âWhatever. Iâm tired of arguing with you, woman. I know you want me just as much as I want you and I will wait for you to realize it as wellâ he said. I sighed.
I didnât think heâd be this persistent.
âYouâre making this complicated for both of usâ I said.
âYouâre the one making things complicatedâ he said. I frowned.
Okay.
âWhatâs wrong with you, really?â he said sounding frustrated.
âNothing is wrong with meâ I said frowning.
Then we both heard rustling in the woods. My senses tingles and Grey calmly turned around.
A group of wolves came out. 2 had shimmering gray fur and 5 had brown matted fur. Grey shielded me calmly facing them.
âLeave us aloneâ he said boredly. He seemed to know them.
Then the two gray wolves shifted into their human form.
âAish!â Grey exclaimed and covered my eyes but I was able to see their faces before he did so.
The twins.
âIsnât she the girl from school?â one of them said.
âYeah. The weird oneâ the other agreed like I wasnât there to hear it. I frowned.
âDidnât I make it clear to not look for me?â Grey said sounding annoyed.
âWell, you were taking an awfully long time, your majesty. Of course we had to come looking for youâ one said mockingly.
âYou didnât exactly tell us youâd be flirting. If you did, we wouldnât have come searchingâ the other said.
Even before Grey could reply to them, I butt in.
âYou should go, your majestyâ I suggested. He looked at me clearly not wanting to go.
âI need to go back tooâ I mind linked him. He sighed and nodded.
I gave him and his men a slight bow before I left.
I didnât wait up for any of them to say anything more and left.
