Livianaâs POV
âItâs still you, Liviâ he said as he stared straight into my eyes.
I couldnât quite breathe properly.
I wasnât sure what he meant.
I gulped.
âWe should probably head back. Itâs getting late and I need to do somethingâ I said as I stood up.
Andre held my wrist to stop me.
âWhy? What were you going to do?â he asked curiously.
âIâm supposed to call Luanâ I said bluntly. He just stared at me for a moment.
âCan I ask you one more thing?â he said and I nodded almost reluctantly.
âHow long have you guys known together?â he asked.
âLong enoughâ I said and gave him a small smile before lightly pulling my hand back and started to walk back to the pack house.
The last thing I needed right now was another boy problem.
Iâm not assuming anything.
But maybe I am being cautious.
I know how densed I can be.
Itâs bad.
I reached the pack house and saw Edmond and Dante sitting in the living room.
âEdmond, kindly set up a room for Andre if heâs planning on staying for the nightâ I instructed.
âYes, Alphaâ Edmond replied and stood up.
âArenât you going to have dinner, Liviana?â Dante asked before I could go upstairs.
âIâm not hungryâ I simply said and rushed upstairs.
I went to my room and locked it before plopping down my bed.
Maybe Iâm over thinking this.
Andre and I havenât seen each other for 8 years and although we spend our childhood together, I always saw him as an older brother and nothing else.
But if what Iâm assuming is actually true, then I donât want it.
I sighed.
I grabbed my phone from the bedside table and dialed Luanâs number.
He picked up almost immediately.
âHeyâ
âHeyâ I replied softly.
âHow was the talk?â
I paused for a moment.
âIt was fine at first. Then ot became a little confusing in the endâ I confessed.
âWhat do you mean?â
âI canât quite explain it. But anyways, what about you? Were you able to deal with the thing you were supposed to deal with?â I changed the subject.
âA little bit yeahâ
It was quiet for a moment.
âWill you be back here tomorrow morning?â I suddenly asked. Luan chuckled.
âYes, baby. Iâll be back there early in the morningâ
I smiled a little.
I somehow felt excited to see him even though we basically met earlier today.
âDo you miss me?â
âYou wishâ I said with a chuckle and he laughed from the other line.
âWell I sure doâ
Me too.
I canât wait for morning to come.
I wanted to see Luan so badly.
I know Iâm starting to think all clingy and needy but it was either the mate bond or another side of me that I forgot I even had in the first place.
âIâd love to come over there and see you again but I know that you need to rest more so Iâll just see you tomorrow, okay?â
âOkayâ I replied.
âGet some some rest and go to sleep now, my love. Iâll see you tomorrow. Goodnightâ
âGoodnightâ I said with a smile on my face.
I stared at my ceiling for a moment before drifting off to sleep.
I shouldnât be over thinking this.
It complicates things too much.
The next thing I know I was in the forest and I could clearly see my momâs back from me.
âMom!â I called out and she turned to look at me with a bright smile on her face.
âMy sweet girlâ she said as we hugged each other.
âI missed youâ I muttered and looked at her. She smiled.
âI missed you moreâ she said and kissed my forehead.
âHow are you feeling? You used your powers againâ she said sounding worried.
âIâm doing just fine, mom. I rarely use my powers and I gain my energy back quicklyâ I told her.
My mom sighed as she tuck a lose strand of fair behind my ear.
âYouâre so precious, Livianaâ she said with a smile.
âI wish I can help you in other ways but I canâtâ she said and a tear fell from her eye.
âI wish I can protect you from the dangers that fate will throw your wayâ she continued as tears streamed down her face.
âBut all I can do now is look after you and support you. Then from time to time, meet you like this to encourage youâ she said and slightly smiled.
âIâm sorry I couldnât gives you the normal life that you deservedâ she said apologetically. I held my momâs face.
âDonât say that, mom. Iâm happy I even got to know you. Sure, my life might be tough now, but that doesnât mean that it will always remain this way. Iâll have better days, mom. Iâm just glad that I can meet you in any wayâ I assured her. She smiled as she hugged me again.
Then I woke up.
I rubbed my eyes as I sat up on my bed.
I smiled to start my day.
I went straight to the bathroom and took a shower before dressing into my school clothes.
I peaked through the balcony and saw Luanâs car outside.
I smiled.
I went out of my room and downstairs.
Andre appeared from the kitchen with a disheveled hair, a coffee in his hand abd a frown on his face.
âMorning. You look like youâre in a bad mood this early in the morningâ I said with a chuckle and Andre turned to look at me then pouted.
âYou can blame that to his majesty in the kitchen whose mere presence pisses me offâ he said and I laughed as I made my way to the kitchen where Luan was.
âGood morningâ I greeted to get his attention. Luan turned to look at me and smiled.
âGood morningâ he said and immediately pulled me close to him and hugged me while he was sitting down. I chuckled at his actions but didnât complain as he hugged me.
El walked in with Andre by his side and they both saw us.
âWoah there! Ainât it too early to be doing this, lovebirds?â El teased making me chuckle.
Luanâs hold on me tightened a bit as Andre frowned at us.
I placed my hand on the side of Luanâs neck and started to lightly rub him there soothingly with my thumb.
âItâs okayâ I mind linked him.
Luan started to relax a bit.
The 4 of us had breakfast together.
âAre you seriously going to school after what happened yesterday?â Andre asked. I nodded.
âIâm feeling just fine and nothing is wrong with me so I donât have any reason not to goâ I said and shrugged.
Andre sighed.
âBy the way, how long are you planning on staying here, Andre?â El asked Andre.
âMaybe for a few days. Thatâs if Livi letâs meâ Andre said and made puppy eyes at me. I chuckled but I felt Luan tense up beside me.
I reached out for his hand and lightly squeezed it to calm him down.
âSure. Itâs been a while since you visited. Iâm sure that the other pack members who know you will be glad to see you again after so longâ I said and Luanâs fist clenched.
âThank you, Liviâ he said and I nodded.
âJust give your mom a call first and let Alpha Seth know tooâ I reminded him and he nodded.
We finished up breakfast.
We went out and El and I got in Luanâs car together.
âIâll see you laterâ Andre said to me with a smile. I nodded and gave him a small smile before we drove off.
Luan was quiet but I knew he wasnât happy.
I turned to look back at El.
âCan you put on your earphones? I need to talk to Luanâ I said to El. He nodded and put on his earphones in his ears.
I turned to look at Luan next.
âAre you upset?â I asked Luan.
âWhy would I be?â he asked back in a cold tone.
âLuan, Andre is part of the pack even after they left. Heâll always be part of the Crescent Moon pack and I canât do anything about itâ I explained to him and he glanced at me.
âThat guy clearly likes you, Liviana. And you just agreed to let him stay with you in the same roofâ he said as his hand clenched on the stirring wheel.
âHe knows that I have a mate and he knows that itâs youâ I countered.
âYou think thatâs going to stop him? Liviana, youâre not marked. Unmated wolves will keep going after you until they see a mark on you which you wonât let me give youâ he said in a frustrated tone.
I sighed.
âI thought we already talked about this, Luanâ I said.
âWe did and as much as I hate having to bring it up over and over again because we only end up arguing, it needs to be brought upâ he said with a sigh.
âDonât you trust me?â I asked him with a frown. Luan glanced at me.
âI trust you, Liviana. But not them. I donât trust themâ he said sternly.
âThen just trust me, Luan. I can handle itâ I said and he sighed with a frown then didnât say anything else.
I massaged the bridge of my nose in frustration.
We reached school and Luan parked his car.
I didnât wait for him to open the door for me anymore.
âLetâs talk again laterâ I tokd him. Luan shook his head and I looked at him with my brows furrowed.
âIâd rather not. Just do you. You wonât listen to what I say anyway so why bother? I donât want to get in an argument anymoreâ he said blankly and walked away.
I clenched my fist then El gave me a pat on the pack.
âJust let him cool down a bit, Liviâ he said and I nodded with a sigh before making my way to my class.
We barely just actually started and now weâre having another disagreement.
Great.
Just great.
