Livianaâs POV
âLivi, are you sure youâre going to be okay? THEY WILL FIND OUT about your moon mark with the obvious shift in your auraâ Edmond whispered when he pulled me to a vacant room.
âThen should I send them away instead?â I asked him. He closed his eyes and massaged his temple in frustration.
âNo, of course not but then what if word gets around? Livi, every wolf in Lunar will treat you like a specimen in a museumâ Edmond said with a sigh.
To some other wolf, theyâd be more than ecstatic to bear the moon goddessâ mark. It was an extremely rare occurrence.
But considering my situation, Iâd rather not be feast upon by every wolf in Lunar.
Imagineâ¦
I became acting Alpha at 16 after my âfatherâ left for a mission.
Then I took over the position at 18.
Whatâs the problem with that you ask?
One, Alphas are supposed to be atleast at the age of 21 to claim the title.
Two, I was the first she-wolf to become Alpha because every other Alpha in Lunar are males.
Three, Crest Moon pack is one of the biggest packs there is in the territory. A lot of wolves who yearn for power will surely take interest in the pack.
Either the other wolves will see me as a complete pushover or they will see me as their biggest threat.
Some may even try to come for my title for their own recognition and the fact that I bear the moon goddessâ mark adds up to their achievement.
So itâs not good news at all.
âI donât trust them fully but they are in depth to us as they said. For now, we canât do anything about it but before I meet up with the other Alphas again, I will think of something to do withâ¦â I paused trying to find the right word to describe my situation but failed.
âThisâ I just said with a sigh.
âIâm worried, Liviâ Edmond said softly. I have him an assuring smile.
âIâll be okay, Edmond. Iâm more worried about the pack more than anything elseâ I said and he sighed.
I took a deep breath as I looked at the door.
To be honest, Iâm scared.
Terrified even.
What others might see as a blessing seemed like a curse to me.
I mean no disrespect to the moon goddess, but the situation she has put me in isnât veryâ¦wise.
Iâd have to ask her after this why she had to put her mark on me knowing Iâd attract attention which can
I held the door knob to get out but it twisted by itself and then it opened revealing a panting mess who is my uncle Dante.
âWhat happened to you?â I asked him with my brows furrowed confused.
He stood straight then raised his right hand which held a golden bracelet with a moon charm on it.
âWhat are you doing with that?â I pointed out to the bracelet.
âWear itâ he said breathlessly.
âWhat? Why? I donât like wearing accessoriesâ I said honestly.
Dante shook his head.
âItâs not just an accessory. Wear it, Livianaâ he insisted and took my left hand to put the bracelet on.
âI donât thinkââ I was about to say something but I suddenly felt like an energy was pulled back somewhere inside of me and I gasped.
It was unfamiliar to me but the feeling was magical and not in a dreamy magical way.
âLiviâ Edmond muttered after a few moments and I looked at him.
âItâs goneâ Edmond said. My brows furrowed confused.
âWhat is?â I asked.
âThe energy that surrounded you that was from the moon goddessâ mark. Itâs goneâ he said.
I looked at Dante.
âIs that what this bracelet does? Take away the energy of the mark?â I asked him. He shook his head.
âItâs like the perfume you use. Itâs like a mask. It doesnât really take away the energy. It just hides itâ he explained.
âWhere did you get it? Livi and I were just talking about trying to find a solution to hiding the energy caused by the markâ Edmond asked curiously.
Dante just chuckled and gave us a small smile.
âEdmond, can you check on our visitors for a moment. I need to talk to my uncleâ I said and Edmond nodded before lowering his head to me and leaving the room.
âWhere did you get this?â I asked him as I raised my left hand to show the bracelet on my wrist.
âItâs not where. Itâs whoâ he said. I raised a brow at him.
âThen who did you get this from?â I asked again.
âThe moon goddess herselfâ he said casually.
I looked at him wide eyed.
âYouâve met the moon goddess too?â I asked him. He nodded.
âYes. Who do you think gave me the information about your fathersâ whereabouts?â he said. My mouth gaped open.
All this time, heâs been in contact with the moon goddess herself.
âAnd you met with her today?â I asked him. He nodded.
âYes. I didnât want you to stay in the same room with those men with your energy all over the place that clearly shouts âI was marked by the moon goddessâ and attract more attention because thatâs troublesomeâ he said.
âHow did you get it?â I asked curiously.
âI reached out to her and asked her to take the mark back but she refused so I had to argue with her how sheâs putting you in dangerâ he said with a shrug.
âYou asked HER? and ARGUED with HER?â I asked baffled.
He sounds so casual talking about the moon goddess.
Even I canât talk about it so casually.
âYes so instead of taking the mark back, she gave me that to mask the energy caused by her markâ he said.
I massaged the bridge of my nose.
I thought my uncle was just overly protective.
But I guess heâs crazy too.
My dad had the same crazy side like him.
But Dante is a whole different story.
âWeâll talk about this more later on. For now, I have to go and talk to the men from the Northern packâ I said and Dante nodded.
I held the doorknob to the room to get out then turned to look at Dante.
I smiled thankfully and then hugged him.
âI think youâre absolutely crazy for acting so casual with the moon goddess but Iâm thankful that I have an uncle like youâ I whispered and Dante hugged me back.
âI can do anything for your protection, Liviana. You may be the strongest Alpha in Lunar or the only heir to both territories but you will always be my niece. My brotherâs daughter. No matter who and what you choose to be, Iâll always be her as your uncleâ he whispered back and I hugged him tighter.
âThank youâ I muttered and Dante planted a k**s on the top of my head.
âAnything for you, princessâ he said.
Then we both left the room and I went back to the living room to have a conversation with the Northern packâs Alpha and his men.
True enough, I saw how the Alpha got confused momentarily probably sensing the sudden shift of my energy and aura.
He didnât have enough time to figure out what was new to me earlier and now, I have the same aura I did before I was marked by the moon goddess.
Great.
More things to hide.
