Livianaâs POV
âThe Kingâ I said and Luan froze in place.
I clenched my fists.
The nightmare was so vivid that I wondered if it was a dream at all.
Or a visionâ¦
Luanâs father commanded his men to attack my pack and kill all my people in front of me.
That was my dream.
I looked at Luan and he seemed to be in a daze.
Can I still trust?
It was a dream, yes.
But with everything that is happening, Iâm not so sure anymore really.
I moved farther away from Luan and he finally snapped back to reality.
I gave him a look.
Just when we started to get along well and this happens.
âLivianaâ he called out softly as he tried to reach out to me but I back away.
I saw his hurt expression and my heart clenched.
âI would never let anything happen to you or your pack, Liviana. I hope you know thatâ he said calmly.
âHeâs your fatherâ I said and Luan sighed.
âYes but I never had a good relationship with my father. I will never let him do anything that will harm you. Neverâ he said and I sensed that he wasnât lying and that he genuinely meant what he said.
âPlease, believe me. I can go against my father if I needed to, Liviana. All for youâ he said and I sighed before going closer to him again.
He pulled me to him and hugged me.
I let him.
âIâm willing to do anything to protect you, Liviana. I wonât let anyone harm you. Not even my own fatherâ he whispered.
I caressed Luanâs back as he rested his chin on my shoulder.
âOkayâ I muttered and he tightened his hug around me.
Luan buried his face on my neck and I felt tingles all over my body.
I gulped.
We stayed like that for a moment until we decided to go back to sleep together.
Luan held me close to him and I knew he was trying to calm himself down after the information I gave him.
He really might not have a good relationship with his father but that still doesnât change the fact who he is to him.
His family.
But I trust Luan enough to believe him that he means no harm and wants to protect me.
And I drift off to sleep.
I wake up to the knock on the door but I donât see Luan beside me.
Did he already leave?
The door to my room opened revealing Edmond.
âGood morning, Liviâ he greeted and I gave him a small smile.
âMorningâ I said.
âDid you sleep well?â he asked but I didnât answer.
âDid Luan leave already?â I asked him instead. He shook his head.
âHeâs with El in the training grounds. Heâs been there before dawn, I thinkâ he said and I nodded before getting off my bed and heading to the bathroom to shower before going out.
I showered and changed into my training clothes before going downstairs.
âLivi!â Ellie squealed when she saw me and came running to me.
I caught her in my arms and spun her around as she giggled in delight.
âGood morningâ she said cheerfully and planted a k**s on my cheek.
âGood morning, little one. I missed youâ I said and Ellie hugged me by my neck.
âI missed you too, Liviâ she said sweetly and I smiled.
I headed to the kitchen with Ellie still on my arms. Theresa was already there along with the cooks.
âGood morning, Alphaâ they greeted.
âGood morning. Have you all eaten breakfast yet?â I asked them.
âYes, Alphaâ they answered and Theresa served me a plate of breakfast.
âDo youâ¦know if Luan already had breakfast?â I asked her. Theresa smiled a little.
âI donât think soâ she said with a teasing smile. I bit my lower l*p and looked away making her chuckle.
âIâll get him first to eat breakfastâ I casually said.
âI want to come with you, Liviâ Ellie said and I nodded.
âTheresa?â I said asking permission if I can take Ellie with me. She nodded.
I put down Ellie and we walked out of the pack house together.
âLivi, do you like Luan?â Ellie suddenly asked.
Yes.
âWhy did you ask?â I said trying to avoid the question.
âBecause I asked El why heâs always here and El said itâs because he likes you. Do you like him too, Livi?â she asked innocently.
I chuckled nervously.
âYouâre a curious one arenât you?â I said booping her nose.
âIâll tell you when youâre olderâ I simply said and she pouted but didnât complain.
We reached the training grounds and saw my guards and warriors training.
I looked around to find Luan but didnât see him.
âLivianaâ Dante approached us.
He planted a k**s on the top of my head.
âHow are you feeling?â he asked worried.
âBetter. Howâs the training going?â I asked.
And whereâs my mate?
âItâs good. Theyâve all improved a lotâ he said and I nodded.
âWhereâs El?â I asked Dante.
âHeâs thereâ he said and pointed out to the farther left. I nodded again and Ellie and I made our way there quietly as everyone trained.
We finally saw El and I also saw Luan with him.
I almost sighed in relief.
âLiviâ El said and Luan turned to look at me.
Then everyone else turned to look at me and Alex finally saw me and halted the training.
âGood morning, Alphaâ Alex said.
âGood morning, Alphaâ everyone else followed.
I gave them a nod.
âGood morning. You can continue with your trainingâ I said and glanced at Alex. He nodded and continued with their training.
I faced Luan.
âYou didnât have breakfastâ I stated anf he chuckled.
âDid you come all the way here for that?â he teased. I playfully rolled my eyes.
âYou wish. Now, come withâ I said and pulled him out of there with Ellie.
âLivi wants to eat with youâ Ellie blurted out making me cough.
I didnât say that.
Luan laughed.
âDid she now?â he said and gave me a teasing grin.
âI didnât say thatâ I defended myself. Luan chuckled.
âSureâ he said and intertwined our hands.
I felt the tingles all over my body again.
Luan carried Ellie with his other hand while we held hands.
My mind said to pull away.
But my heart said otherwise.
Amaris was very pleased to be so intimate with him.
We reached the pack house and went to the kitchen where we were served with breakfast.
âAlpha, your human friends are seeking entranceâ a guard mind linked me.
âLet them inâ I replied.
Iâm sure Blake and Katie know what happened to me because I was gone for a week.
âIâm going back at my place after breakfast. I need to settle a few thingsâ Luan suddenly said.
I raised a brow at him curiously.
âDoes it have anything to do with my dream?â I asked him. He sighed and nodded.
âYes. I want to make sure that my father canât get to you no matter what. He can beâ¦cunning. I donât want to risk it. I donât trust himâ he said the last part almost in a whisper. I nodded and reached out for his hand.
Luan and I stared into each otherâs eyes. He smiled and brought my hands to his lips kissing it.
âPlease let me protect youâ he said and my heart started to beat faster.
I gave him a small smile and nodded.
âOkayâ I said and we heard a loud squeal.
There stood Blake and Katie looking at the both of us as Luan held my hand.
Oh.
