Livianaâs POV
Luan made his way to us and in one swift move, he held Howl by the collar.
âSheâs my fcking mate! Back off!â he growled at Howl.
Howl looked at me wide eyed but then glared back at Luan.
âWell, I donât see a mark now, do I?â he smirked at Luan making him more pissed.
Luan was about to punch him but I caught his fist.
âDonât do itâ I said sternly. His breathing was heavy and I know he was boiling with anger now.
I held his face.
âLetâs go home, okay?â I said softly. He started to relax and let go of Howl.
Suddenly, he lifts me up putting me on his shoulders like a potato sack and I squeak.
Fcking mate.
We went out of the restaurant and Luan put me in the shotgun sit. I frown.
âYou didnât even last an hour seeing me with Howlâ I said knowing that he was there since the beginning.
âI donât appreciate you flirting with another male, Livianaâ he said with gritted teeth.
âI was merely teasing him, Luan. You need to chill outâ I told him. He frowned as we drove off.
This is not the way back to the pack house.
âWhere are we going?â I asked him with brows furrowed.
âHomeâ he said with a grin.
âThis is not the way to the pack houseâ I pointed out.
âI meant our homeâ he said winking as he stepped on the gas.
Oh ghad.
âI swear Iâm going to jump out of this car, Luan. Donât try meâ I warned him but he only accelerates.
What is wrong with him?!
I swear I was really considering jumping off.
But Amaris was holding me back.
This btch, really.
Finally, a familiar mansion came into view.
Oh.
We stop in front.
This is the same place I was in after I got shot by silver bullets.
Luan got off first and opened the door to my seat. I glare at him.
âThis isnât my homeâ I said with a frown. He sighed then leaned in before scooping me off the seat.
I growl.
âLet me go, Grey!â I scream.
âThis is your punishment, mateâ he said and slapped my butt cheek making me flush red.
He did not just fckingâ¦
âLuan youâohâ I heard Beauâs voice. I stayed still knowing my rear was facing him and if I struggle to get out his hold, my dress will ride up.
âWhat?â he spat at Beau.
âYou have visitorâ he said.
âWho?â Luan asked.
âItâs Alfred and Evelynâ Beau told him.
Alfred and Evelyn?
âWhere are they?â Luan asked Beau again.
âTheyâre in the livââ Beau was cut off when I heard footsteps.
âPrince Luâoh myâ I heard another manâs voice.
Nice. Now, two men have seen me helplessly hanging on this excuse for a mateâs shoulder while my rear is facing them.
âNow your majesty, thatâs not how you treat a ladyâ a womanâs voice said.
Finally, I bite onto Luanâs back making him shout and drop me.
I fell on my feet as Luan glared at me and I glared back at him.
âNot cool!â I snarl at him. He sighed.
I turn to see Beau, a man and a woman.
Both the strangers eyes widened when they saw me.
Itâs like they saw a ghost.
âIâm sorry for that situation you caught us inâ I said apologetically and glanced at Luan with a glare.
The man and woman glanced at each other and at me.
âI thought youâd arrive tomorrowâ Luan said.
The man cleared his throat.
âWe finished what we had to do earlier than expected, your majesty. We thought it would be best to come immediatelyâ the man explained.
Luan nodded then turned to me.
âWho are they?â I mind linked him.
âThe former head butler and former head helper in the castle. They served your father during his term and mine for a few yearsâ he replied to me and my eyes widened.
That means they knew my father.
My b***d father.
âLetâs go to the living roomâ Luan said and we all made our way to the living room.
Luan held me by my lower back guiding me to the living room.
Sparks went flying with his touch but I ignored it as always.
I had better things to do right now.
We sat down on the large sofa in the living room as I faced the people who can possibly answer my questions about my parents.
âIâm truly sorry for theâ¦scene you saw earlier. My name is Liviana Crest, Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack. You both are?â I introduced myself.
âI am Alfred Reed, my ladyâ the man said bowing at me. I gave him a small smile and a nod.
âI am Evelyn Green, my ladyâ the woman said with a smile before bowing to me. I smiled back and nodded again.
I turned to Luan.
âCan we please have some privacy please?â I said through mind link. Luan stared at me for a moment before nodding.
Luan stood up and dragged Beau with him.
We watched as they disappeared upstairs.
I took a deep breath and turned to Alfred and Evelyn again.
They kept staring at me as if scanning my features.
âMay I ask something to the both of you?â I said. They both nodded.
âYes, my ladyâ they both said.
âEarlier when you first saw me. Youâre reactions wereâ¦.peculiar. Why? â I said.
They glanced at each other again.
âWeâre sorry, my lady. Itâs just that you reminded us of someoneâ Alfred said. My head tilted to the side curiously.
âMay I know who?â I asked.
âThe former king, King Kale Alaric, my lady. You resemble him a lotâ Evelyn stated.
Of course.
âKing Kale Alaricâ I muttered.
âWhat was he like?â I asked them. They both smiled but it didnât reach their eyes.
âKing Kale was a wonderful ruler, my lady. Although he had no queen by his side, he had not lack in leading the land. He was strict but kind heartedâ Alfred stated.
âLike you, Livianaâ I heard Amaris in my head and my heart clenched.
âWhat happened to him?â I asked them. They glanced at each other and I knew then and there that they know more than I thought they did.
âWe do not know, my lady. The King disappeared and never came back. We then served the current King for a few years before we had retiredâ Evelyn said apologetically.
But I already know that they knew.
âPrincess Diana Whiteâ I said and they both looked at me shocked.
Iâm sure they were wondering how I even know the name.
âYou know the truth, donât you? King Kale had told you, didnât he?â I said again. They glanced at each other again.
âHow do youâoh myâ Alfred stopped as he looked straight at me.
âAre youâ¦.?â Alfred said carefully.
âPrincess Liviana Alaricâ I said and they both gasped.
