Livianaâs POV
I found myself in the forest again.
Then I saw Diana. Again.
But it wasnât just us this time.
There stood beside her is Amaris.
I felt confused and betrayed.
âLivianaâ Diana called me softly. I backed away.
âAm I right?â I asked trying to keep my voice from breaking.
Dianaâs eyes looked at me in worry.
âAnswer me! Am Iâ¦the princess?â I shouted.
A tear fell from her eye.
âYes. You are the princess. My daughter and King Kaleâsâ she said and I fell to my knees.
Amaris immediately approached me whimpering lowly.
I lightly pushed her back.
âAnd you knew all along, didnât you?â I said to Amaris. She looked at me guilty.
âAmaris couldnât tell you, Livianaâ Diana said. I chuckled.
âOf courseâ I said bitterly.
âTell me. Tell me everything nowâ I said looking up to Diana. She nodded.
âI am Diana White, the princess of Halo territory, daughter of King Callisto White and Queen Selene White from Halo, and your motherâ she started.
âYour real father is King Kale Alaric, the king of Lunar territoryâ she continued.
My heart squeezed.
âMy father King Callisto, your grandfather, had set me up to marry a man that I didnât know or love in hopes of having another heir for the throneâ she said.
âI ran awayâ she stated with a gulp.
âI didnât want to marry just anyone. I believed in the mate bond and hoped to find my mateâ she explained.
âI ended up in the Lunar territory. I was at the warriors mercy and soon delivered me to your father, the King of Lunarâ she continued.
âAs soon as I entered the castle, I sensed him. I sensed my mate and at that moment, we both knewâ she said.
âNo one else knew but us but that was enough. He hid me away to protect me as soon as he found out about my identity. Soon enough, I became pregnantâ¦with youâ she told me.
âWe knew youâd be the one to be able to bring the territories together. You were the heir to both my side and your fatherâsâ she said.
Me?
âAs soon as we found out that I was pregnant, your father did everything he could to keep it all hidden for both of our safetyâ she continued..
âBut a few months after I gave birth to you, the royal ministry found out about my presence in the Lunar territory and your father did everything to protect me. To protect us.â she told me.
âThey knew about me but didnât know about you. We fled but they caught up. The only person your father trusted that time was Dimitri, the man who raised you and the one youâ¦considered your fatherâ she explained.
My tears fell uncontrollably.
âHe tried to save us both but I knew it wasnât possible. They wanted me and we couldnât survive if I had insisted on staying with you. So I had him take you and leaveâ she said as tears streamed down her own face.
âI thought that they would catch me and torture and kill me but the moon goddess is good. She didnât give them the chance and she took me in with her and made me a guardianâ she explained.
It was all so hard to take in.
âWe had to wait until youâve come of age to tell you all of this. We had to make sure youâd be able to care for yourself if worse comes to worstâ she told me apologetically.
I looked up to her.
âMy fatherâI mean D-dimitri. What happened to him?â I asked.
âThe mission he was supposed to do was to bring back your real father, the King. He had found out that he was alive but they were ambushed and capturedâ she said. My eyes lit up hopeful.
âH-heâs alive?â I said. She nodded.
âAndâ¦the K-king?â I asked again.
âHeâs alive with Dimitriâ she stated. I sighed in relief.
The father I grew up with and my real father are alive.
âWhere are they?â I asked determined. She shook her head at me.
âYou canâtâ she said. My brows furrowed confused.
âYou canât, Liviana. Not yet. Not now. Your life is more valuable than their freedomâ she told me.
I burst into tears.
I felt so helpless.
âIâm sorry, sweetie. I canât let you endanger your life anymore. Now that you know the truth, you must stay alive and live up to your fateâ she told me while hugging me.
I looked up to her.
âMy fate?â I asked confused. She nodded.
âTo bring the two territories togetherâ she said.
Bring the two territories together?
How am I supposed to do that?
âHow?â I asked. She gave me a small smile.
âI believe youâll come up with somethingâ she said. I sighed then stared at her.
I started memorizing her facial features.
She did really look like me.
Except she had silver hair and golden eyes.
Ac
Mine were black with well, a few strands of silver after my 18th birthday and my eyes were blue.
Aside from that, we were almost identical.
âYouâre my mom?â it was supposed to be a statement but it came out as a question. She nodded with a small smile.
âThe only oneâ she said and a tear escaped her eye. I wiped it and gave her smile.
âIâve always wondered what it feels likeâ¦to be in my motherâs armsâ I said as a tear escaped my eye too.
More tears streamed down her face with an apologetic smile.
âIâm sorry, sweetie. I shouldâve been there for you all those years but all I could do was watch over you from afarâ she apologized. I gave her an assuring smile.
âAtleast youâre here nowâ I said leaning my forehead into mine.
Then we talked about other things for quite a while.
Until I woke up.
I saw Luan at the side of my bed leaning his upper body while his head is on my hospital bed and one hand holding mine.
I carefully slipped away from him and left the hospital.
I dropped by the pack house quickly into my roomâs balcony without getting noticed and changed clothes before going to my fatherâs room.
Or atleast the one I thought was my father.
I think I will think of him as my father despite all of this.
But I also still have to acknowledge my real father if I ever get to meet him.
I took out some clothes from his closet and went back to my room and out of the balcony before running to the river.
I need more time to think.
